When we moved into the neighborhood 8 years ago, our neighbor recommended San Carlos Auto. I know how hard it is to find a mechanic you can trust so I was leery of starting over in a new area. Well, 8 years and three cars later, we consider San Carlos auto our family mechanic. Most of my family and a few friends now also call it home. They are honest and do great work. They give you the facts but let you make the choice on when and what you want done. And if you aren’t satisfied, they fix it any way they can. It’s so reassuring to know that you are being taken care of and never taken advantage of. That’s why they have lifelong customers!

Great experience here at San Carlos Auto Repair. I called because I needed tires replaced last minute prior to leaving on a trip. They had the job done and I was on the road in less than an hour! No hassle. Fair price for the tires. Great value and service!

I went in on a last minute whim between my classes at the college nearby, and they were totally willing to give my flat tire an inspection and fix. The overall service was friendly, patient, and knowledgable. They told me they would fix my tire, and put it back on (I had the spare temporarily) but it’d take about 15 minutes which was perfectly fine.
While I was waiting the two gentlemen at the front desk made nice conversation with me, and one of them even shared pictures of his dog with me which I thought was nice. It made me feel at ease.
So they told me exactly what was wrong, fixed my tire wholly, and I was out the door! Easiest repair service ever. I’ll definitely come here again for car services. Thank you!

I have been taking my cars here for around 10 years, now. Brian and his staff are very honest and up front. They will explain everything to you and tell you if the repairs are urgent or if you can wait on them. I always have them do a new/​used car purchase inspection on any vehicle I am planning to purchase and so far, they have not failed me. I bought two wonderful used cars with their recommendation and returned one that needed 4k worth of work that we did not know about. The prices can be a little high here (I would go elsewhere for an oil change) but if you are looking for someone to trust in the auto repair business, this is the place to go.

I have been taking my 2004 Honda Civic here since we moved here. These guys are great. They are open on Saturdays, timely, professional and cost effective. Today, I took my car in due to a shake in the brake pedal while braking at high speeds. The front rotors needed resurfaced. This was done about 4 months ago, but they explained to me that Honda’s can be finicky even if they are off by very little. So they performed this service for me again at no cost. I will continue to take my car here as long as I live in the area.

I recently took my 2000 Honda Civic in because of the check engine light was on. After dropping it off, they called me within the hour to know the cost of the repair. They were correct with the time estimate as far as the repairs go.
1 week later, my Mazda’s light came on. I took it down there, and about an hour later they told me it was just the gas lid not being shut all the way. They didn’t even charge me for the diagnostic. It was easy, and now I know I can trust them going forward as they could have easily came up with something more expensive as the reason.
I will always take my cars there.

I brought my fiat in knowing that some people don’t work on foreign cars, I walked up and it seemed like a nice enough place.
I asked Dan if he was available to change my oil today. After briskly telling me that they didn’t have any spots open for me he told me that they don’t work on fiats and when I asked where would he seemed burdened to tell me that he didn’t know. All while only looking up for his computer once and rolling his eyes back to it while talking to me.
Now I know I’m a 19 year old girl with pink hair and stretched lobes but I feel like I deserve as much respect as any other customer that would have come in. jiffy lube treated me way better and they’re a chain.
I hope someone understands just how unprofessional this was and how much it hurt my feelings.
