I highly recommend! I used Steve for an ignition repair on my van and also for a pre-​inspection on a truck I wanted to buy at a used car dealership. He was very professional, on time, and reasonably priced. Van works great no problems! And. his pre-​inspection expert knowledge saved me a huge mistake I could have made buying a pretty on the outside Ford F250 but very bad engine on the inside. Thank you Steve for the great service! Steve is just plain awesome! Definitely very helpful and professional. He returned my call in a short period of time and came to my house on time. The fee is very reasonable. He even offered to give him a call if I have questions about cars (cuz my car is a mess and not worth spending any more money to) very nice guy! I would definitely recommend the guy!

This wasn’t clear to me at first, but Steve actually comes out to wherever your car is and works on it there. I had an issues with decreased gas mileage and busted windshield wiper fluid injectors. He had the job done quickly and efficiently and I couldn’t be happier.

I read just two or three Unilocal reviews and called Steve. Within maybe 90 minutes of leaving him a message he’d returned it, given me an estimate, stopped and bought the needed parts, and finished the minor electrical repair on my Jag. He’s super friendly, fast, and knowledgeable (ASE certified!). How nice to not have to hassle with taking my car somewhere, dropping it off or having to wait for a repair to be done. He came right to my office. Woohoo indeed. Call Steve. You’ll be glad you did.

Steve provided excellent service and went beyond what he needed to do to make sure my car was fixed. He took the extra time to work carefully around the engine parts in order to make sure nothing else was damaged, even though the fix in question was in a tight place with rusting parts around it. Steve also gave me a pretty spot on estimate (it came out actually cheaper). Would definitely recommend him to anyone in need of a mobile repair service.

Wanted to write about this Super FAB! Mobile Mechanic named Steve Keevil. My radiator blew out… I found him on Unilocal and decided to called him because everyone said what a great mechanic he is… and I saw that they had all given him 5 Stars… WELL…he came out the same day to give me a estimate. He also explained several things to me about my car, why the parts would go bad and what I needed to do to maintain them properly which I thought was really cool. You know how some mechanics don’t even talk to you or tell you what they will do? Well he did. We scheduled my car to be repaired in the next few days. He ordered all my parts for me so I didn’t have to go to the auto shop on my own, brought the parts to my house, got there early, he was done with the job in the amount of time he said he would be, after he finished he followed me around the corner as I tested my brand new radiator. Folks… Steve is the best mechanic I’ve ever met and I’ve gone through a bunch of whack jobs before him. His price is worth every penny and he isn’t expensive… at least I didn’t think so. 100 STARS from me! Thanks Steve! L.

I called Steve to check out my 2004 GMC Envoy that was having some issues (check engine light flashing/​car shaking). He arrived within an hour of my phone call and diagnosed the problem quickly. Steve made the repair and I was back on the road within a couple of hours.
Very convenient, great service and reasonable price. I would definitely recommend!

I had to call Steve for him to diagnose what was going on with my 1996 Honda Accord LX. After replacing the battery, the car wouldn’t start still. I had to wait a few times for the green light to come up the gear panel before the car would start. Steve tried a couple of things and concluded it might be from the computer system. He suggested I take the car to the dealership so they could diagnose the problem ($ 110 just for the diagnosis!). No charge from Steve for he could not resolve the problem with my car. Nice try Steve!

Good guy, great service, and knowledgeable. He did a pre purchase vehicle inspection for me this morning. Showed me a few things I didn’t catch when I first looked at the vehicle and it gave me some good info for the sales negotiation…

I own a 1963 Austin Mini Cooper and he helped me confirm what I was scared to admit. That I have either a cracked cylinder head or a blown gasket and he showed up on time, and have all the test sets, tools and dressed real professional.
He performed the correct way of doing a dry and wet compression test and told me the bad news. I could’ve spent hundreds of dollars elsewhere but he is very affordable and reasonable. Other auto shops will look at my classic car thinking I have a lot of money so they would quote me ridiculous amount.
He also fixed my fiancée’s 2004 Honda Accord. I’m glad there is Unilocal to guide us find a good and honest mechanic.
Steve diagnosed the starter being worn and dying after doing proper tests. He removed and replaced the original starter and now the Accord starts like new again.
He fixed it in less than 3 hours! Don’t go anywhere else! The 5 stars don’t lie. Steve is the man!

Steve is one of the most professional and thorough mechanics I’ve had the pleasure of contacting since living in San Diego.
He is a busy man, which speaks to his character and work, since so many people call on him to help with their mechanical issues.
I explained to him via phone my issue (loud bang… puff of smoke in the rear-​view mirror… temperature gauge all the way on HOT… tow truck driver says it was because of blah blah blah).
He literally spent 30 minutes on the phone with me, listening to me explain the situation and even telling me what he would do during an initial check, giving me the opportunity to check for myself and see if I didn’t need his services.
Turns out the tow truck driver was wrong about a leaky hose, but almost correct, because it was attached to a cracked radiator.
Long story short, Steve gave me an estimated cost and time of arrival, kept me updated with potential earlier times of service and showed up a day before his latest estimated window, RIGHT after helping someone else.
After replacing the radiator, a thermometer and factoring in labor, he was still cheaper than the three other shops I called around the Mira Mesa area.
I’m thankful I now have a go-​to guy I feel I can trust regarding the safety and functionality of my vehicle.
Be patient and try to work with his schedule, because he is well worth the wait.

I had a classic truck that was running poorly and I called Steve to look at it and diagnose the problem. In a relatively short amount of time he figured out what part and was broken, and that it was something that had to be special ordered. It was part of the distributor and I ended up ordering a whole new upgraded distributor which when it finally arrived I asked Steve to come back and install. He did this and the truck is running much better now.
What I like about Steve is that he is happy to explain what he is doing while working on your vehicle, so if you want to learn, hang out while he works or even help a bit, you will get the chance. Also, scheduling is very easy although be warned because of his great service he seems to be constantly busy and so for big jobs you should probably schedule a few days in advance. Finally, he is exceptionally honest and helpful. I will definitely use his services again and recommend him to anyone I know who needs a mobile mechanic.

So, although not everything went as planned, Steve is still the man. Everything that went wrong was due to outside forces (namely Robert at 365 Mobile Auto Repair and a Napa Auto Parts employee’s incompetence).
I called him in to clean up the mess left by Robert, who did not do the job correctly, which ended up messing up the parts (the hub and the new bearing. I ended up having to buy both parts new at Napa. Little did I know that they sold me a bearing assembly WITHOUT any ABS sensors. So now, though the squeal and other bearing-​related problems are resolved, my ABS and traction control lights are on (meaning they are disabled).
So, thanks to Steve, I at least have a car that functions, but because of Robert, it ended up taking longer and costing more than it should have… and because of NAPA, my car is not able to make use of systems it would otherwise have in its arsenal.
I’ll be STARTING and ENDING with Steve next time.

I am very grateful for Steve’s professional and prompt service. He is extremely honest and trustworthy. I appreciated how after fixing our car, he took an extra 30 minutes to thoroughly examine just about every other nook and cranny of the car in order to ensure everything was up to his highly professional standards. I’ve been looking for a trustworthy mobile mechanic for several years. Today, I’m stoked that I finally found one.
I called Steve yesterday in the late morning, expecting the usual «I can fit you in sometime next week.» Nope, he was at my home, on time to the minute, just a few hours later.
Even before calling, I knew the wholesale price for the part that was needed, and what needed to be done. Because it involved my brake system and tools I didn’t own, I really needed an expert to do the job. But I’m also not willing to go to a dealer and get screwed.
Leap of faith … called Steve, and he absolutely nailed it. No crazy markup on parts, more-​than-​fair price for labor (generous, considering the heat and the confined space he had to work in) In the end, he did a fantastic job.
Have I mentioned that he’s one of the nicest guys I’ve met in a long time?
I’m a customer for life now.

Got a great brake job on my business car. Very happy he was able to come to the house and take care of it.
He gave me a good idea over the phone and quoted me a reasonable price.
He put in ceramic brakes that have a lifetime warranty so I can always get them replaced in the future.
Will be using him again!

He gave a quote over the phone for my repair. He was here promptly and was extremely professional. He looked the part and really knew his stuff. He showed up with everything that he needed to do the job right the first time. He was even patient with me when I got the wrong brake pads. This guy has a van with almost everything in it. I highly recommend him and will be using his services again.

My reason for using Advanced Mobile Auto Repair: My parents went on a trip and left their huge suburban in front of my house. I was going to move the car when the alarm system (an add on alarm system, 5 years old) went crazy! The clicker wasn’t deactivating the alarm system and even the car key wasn’t enough to deactivate the alarm system. The steering wheel locked and I couldn’t drive it to the mechanic.
I called four different auto places the evening of new years day and left a message. Steve was the only one to get back to me promptly. At 8:30AM the next day he returned my call and he worked with my schedule and was able to come out the same day.

Knowledgable (explained the process and at the end explained the alarm system wiring and even showed me my dead alarm system),
Fast (he was done within 40 minutes),
Thorough (he triple checked and made sure all was running correctly, he checked all the electrical system to make sure he hadn’t missed anything),
Convenient (MOBILE! I avoided the towing fees and having to call my insurance and finding a mechanic in the area, I was able to stay in the comfort of my own home instead of deal with an auto shop),
Affordable (He explained that the estimate would be around 69 dollars, I usually pay 80 dollars for an estimate at a shop and have to wait at the shop. I ended up paying 125 total and he fixed the problem!)
Cons: None, that’s why I give Steve 5 stars!
