History

Established in 2011.

I started Next Phase with the mission of helping people with the huge task of MOVING. Not just any people, but the senior population. My own mother in her early 40’s became handicapped due to a stroke and could have never downsized, packed, overseen moving crew, unpacked and organized a house by herself. My daughter and I have a passion for working with older adults. Previously, I had over 15 years of experience working one-on-one with seniors as a personal trainer. I knew when I changed careers, seniors had to be in the equation. I put together a team of 7 compassionate, hard-working and creative women who share in the mission. Our clients believe it’s the best money they’ve ever spent when they walk into their new home with everything is in it’s place, the pictures have been hung and the packing materials are all gone… all in about 1– ½ days! Our team removes the stress from the senior and their family members during an emotional time of downsizing and moving.

Meet the Business Owner

Margaret Z.

Business Owner

A Texas native, I have lived in San Diego for over 30 years with my husband and two children. The kids are now grown and I have 4 grandkids.

My childhood was very different from any of my friends’. My mother had a major stroke at age 42, when I was just four years old and my sister was six. At a very young age, my sister and I helped our mother do everything entailed with keeping a house: laundry, cleaning, cooking, yard work, spring cleaning, fixing things, etc. Homemaking comes natural to me and I have always seen my self as a homemaker over any paid job I ever had. I love my home and enjoy making it into a comfortable, welcoming place.

I spent over 25 years as a self-employed certified personal fitness trainer. I trained clients in their homes as that’s where they felt most comfortable; providing goal-setting, individualized fitness plans as well as personal coaching. I utilize those skills as a Senior Move Manager when planning & executing a move.
