To sit in a makeup chair is a universal treat. A dewy sponge, a precision pencil, the tickle of a giant brush. What’s more, the makeup artist sees you: eye-​to-​eye, in close-​up. Even if you don’t talk, it can be a surprisingly intimate experience. This closeness is what draws Lindsey Jones to brides, and what keeps her company in high demand for weddings. The San Diego native found her calling young – while studying abroad, and prepping friends for the endless party in Madrid. Back home, Bobbi Brown saw her talent, and brought her quickly on board. In the blink of an eyelash, Lindsey found herself in New York City, assisting Bobbi herself on shoots. That same year, she launched Lindsey Jones Makeup Artistry, offering pretty, durable, studio-​quality makeup for weddings, galas, fundraisers, and other monumental events. What a dream Lindsey is! I feel so fortunate to have stumbled upon Lindsey via Unilocal!She helped find a realistic and affordable make up routine for both work and every day life, that I can manage during the chaotic and fast-​paced mornings with my toddler. I didn’t even know where to start — it has been so long. :) She gave the MOST insightful and practical advice, each specific to my skin type and features. I was so appreciative to learn that she doesn’t push any products, so you know she’s legit! The mascara she recommended can even be purchased at Target — totally appreciate that! More so, she’s the sweetest and most adorable human. As a fellow mom, she made me feel extremely comfortable in asking questions and learning as much as possible. I’m so grateful to have met her!

There once was a girl who loved makeup. Then she grew up and found herself overwhelmed, without time, limited budget and no damn time to figure that shit out. That, now, woman just gave up on a make up regiment that included more than a light bronzer and mascara (occasionally an eyeline, but let’s not get toooo crazy, mmmkkay?)
When you feel like, ugh… clearly, this is as good as it gets because you just don’t have the energy to scramble through all of your ridiculous make up accoutrement that you have collected over the years (yes, some pieces of make up i have had for years, shame me, it’s okay), sometimes you just want to give up on makeup all together. That my Unilocal loves, is how I felt. And then, behold the day my friend tells me we are going to for a make up class and mini makeover.
When you first meet Lindsey, instantly you want to be friends. She is warm, gorgeous (her make up. listen to Beyonce «flawless» and you’ve got it) and this, this is her art. From the way she holds the brushes, applies the perfectly matched product (Bobbi Brown) to your face and speaks with you about her selection and your features, you know you have a pro working for you to be at your best.
I asked her if she sold Bobbi Brown, because after the incredible makeup application and class, i was SOLD. She told me, «I don’t sell make up. It keeps me honest.» And that, ladies (and gents) is the reason you must book Lindsey Jones. She has an integrity, passion and exquisite talent that you rarely find in also a genuinely kind and compassionate person.
I want to attend an event just to have an excuse for her to do my make up again!

She is one of a kind wonderful makeup artist for any Occasion. Lindsey is an amazing women to get along with and such a professional. I met her though mutual friends and she ended up doing my makeup for my wedding. She listens and understands what you want and gives you the results you except. The whole experience was amazing with the trail and day of, Lindsey delivered with exactly what I wanted. Furthermore her personally is one of a kind, it was like hanging out with a friend. She’s a wonderful women and is great and what she does. Will totally use again.

Lindsey is as good as it gets! She did the makeup for myself, my 6 bridesmaids and my mother for my January 2015 wedding. She is the absolute BEST. Lindsey uses all the highest quality and fresh products and truly brings out the natural beauty and glow in everyone! I really couldn’t have been happier! Lindsey Jones is an incredible make up artist. First and foremost, she made me feel as pretty as I think I could possibly feel on my wedding day, August 21, 2014. My bridesmaids also loved their makeup. In fact, my maid of honor exclaimed, «Lindsey made me feel so pretty and good about myself and I’m completely obsessed with my makeup.» See, it’s not just me.
Lindsey is the #1 choice for your wedding day or any event where you want to feel your absolute best. Did I mention she is so sweet, fun, and cool that you’ll wish she was your best friend? Her humor and positive attitude had me feeling so great as a bride, despite any outside problems that arose prepping for go time. Her sense of fashion and style is just incredible and if you follow her on Instagram you will certainly see what I mean.

Lindsey Jones is the best! She listened and created a look that was exactly what I wanted (heavy eyeliner, lots of lashes). As a 60-​year-​old mother-​of-​the-​bride who still thinks of herself as a hippie, I was quite concerned about having to wear heavy makeup for my daughter’s wedding. But Lindsey Jones made it light and easy!
First, she listened to me. She heard what I wanted AND what I didn’t want. Lindsey didn’t do anything without asking, explaining, and describing. In addition, she gave me a large hand mirror so I could see exactly what she was doing every step of the way, and she taught me how to do it myself for events in the future.
We went with defined brows and under-​eye concealer, tight eyeliner that opened up my eyes rather than making them look smaller, a few individual false eyelashes to make my eyes really stand out, a bit of blush, and some lip color. Voila! The results? Gorgeous!
So many compliments from friends and family! And the whole process was fun — so easy to talk and laugh with Lindsey! No stress, just gorgeous results.

I went to Lindsey Jones first for a trial and then for my daughter’s wedding in Manhattan in June. I wanted a trial because I don’t wear a lot of makeup and did not want to be surprised at the wedding. Lindsey was lovely, listened to what I had to say, selected from a number of different brands and I was very happy with what it looked like. The day of the wedding she came to the hotel and did makeup for the bride and myself and the four bridesmaids — each in a way they were comfortable and complimented their features. She was awesome and had a lovely style. She gave information about the products and colors so we could purchase where we wanted (she does not sell product) so there was no pressure. Would highly recommend for her expertise and her calm style on the wedding day!

Lindsey Jones is an amazing person with unsurpassable creativity. She is a true professional, capable of bringing anyone’s true beauty out.
I first read about Lindsey on Unilocal and thought her reviews were too good to be true, but I was wrong. I met Lindsey at her studio for a trial session and she immediately put me at ease. She explained everything she was doing, she provided reasons for choosing certain products over others, and gave me helpful makeup tricks along the way.
Recently, she was the makeup artist for my wedding and was as amazing as I remembered. We had a last minute change of plans regarding where we were getting ready the morning of and Lindsey adjusted her travel plans seamlessly – a true professional. She took her time with each of my bridesmaids, answered any questions they had, and made them look as beautiful as I’ve ever seen them. She was a great addition to our morning and made us all feel very comfortable. My makeup was exactly how I envisioned it to be and I got more compliments on my makeup that night than I did on my dress.

I had a makeup lesson with her today. She is such a warm and nice person. she listened to all my suggestions. and carefully explained each and every step that was required to recreate the look. We did revisions too!

I’ve had wonderful experiences with Lindsey. I first hired her about a year ago for a makeup lesson in preparation for my engagement photo shoot. She spent 3 hours with me at my apartment showing me the best colors and products for my skin, and creating just the look I wanted for my shoot. I’ve been able to recreate the look with great success many times — at the photo shoot, at friends’ weddings, for nights out…
Then last month I had Lindsey do my makeup for my wedding and it was perfect!!! This despite the near 90-​degree humid summer weather and an outdoor ceremony. I felt gorgeous. My bridesmaids loved how their makeup turned out too. All around success!
I highly recommend Lindsey! I’ll definitely be calling her again when I need a new look!

My friends say that I’m product-​obsessed. And yes, I did reach the 5K point mark on my Sephora Beauty Insiders card. I practically hold my breath for my Birchbox to arrive each month. I had to switch from The Container Store to the dollar store because I was spending too much on boxes to put my stuff in.
But with all of that said, I don’t actually wear much make up. And I can’t do a smokey eye to save my life.
Enter, Lindsey Jones. Not only is she an expert professional who works with some of the most beautiful actresses gracing the covers of fashion mags, but she’s also a super awesome human being. I’ve featured her at events I’ve thrown locally and she manages a crowd like an MC of beauty, but I’ve also had my own make-​up done by her in her apartment sipping on bubbly. In both settings she makes women (and men?) look flawlessly beautiful without looking/​feeling overly made-​up. My friend who has an addiction to heavy eye make-​up and an aversion to blush was transformed into a luminescent traffic-​stopping beauty. Lindsey taught me how to play up my features and that I should wear a heavier evening eye.
At this point I’m happy to call Lindsey a friend (and now a neighbor!) and hopefully someday she’ll be doing my wedding make-​up. In the meantime though, she’ll make me look like a million bucks for a simple night on the town.

Lindsey Jones is one of those Unilocal finds that makes you believe the system really works!
I called Lindsey just one week before my cousins wedding to set up makeup appts for some of the bridesmaids. As time, locations, number of participating bridesmaids changed, Lindsey remained my only constant. She was accommodating, responsive and organized — she even made communication easier by initiating texting. All of these qualities helped quell my nerves and anxiety throughout the stressful planning period.
Judging from her portfolio I figured she wouldn’t disappoint. Not only did Lindsey not disappoint, but she exceeded any and all expectations of the 5 women whose makeup she did. She is a wonderful listener and made sure everyone got a better version of exactly what they asked for.

Like Michelle W. I was also blessed enough to meet Lindsey and she was absolutely AMAZING! Lindsey definitely knew what she was doing and did a flawless job by taking me step by step through the process. She explained in detail what she was doing so I can actually learn how to apply makeup myself! Talk about teaching a person how to fish!
In the past, putting on makeup has never been an easy task. I use to think it was the shape of my eyes but apparently it was my technique. Instead, Lindsey showed me the nuances and secrets to creating a natural look that would still compliment my features. For example, she taught me how to put on fake lashes correctly and how to apply foundation to look fresh and lively.
With my asian features, Lindsey worked her magic and showed me graciously the trick of the trade by sharing all the inside secrets that she had learned from the business.

I hired Lindsey for my most recent photo shoot and she was fabulous. She came on time, was super professional and took instruction but also let me know her expert opinion. I gave her a reference photo and she went to work on the model. The result was perfect-​just what we talked about but even better. She brought everything that was needed, actually showed up with a suitcase of makeup and tools! She has a great personality which is super important when you need to talk to a person for 30 minutes who is up in your face the whole time. Lindsey is a find, can’t wait to use her again!
