Japanese Auto Plus

I will never take make car anywhere else. Both times I have taken my car, I got different quotes from different places and this place has always been the lowest.
Service wise, they told me it would take double the time to fix at the other places than here. So far I am very satisfied with the work.

This place is awesome. Took my car here because it was making some weird sounds and they told me what the issue was faster than any other car shop I’ve ever been in. They’re under new management so Jimmy told me that they were changing stuff around but so far they’re awesome. They’re the first shop in the complex so they’re really easy to find. The best thing about it was that this place isn’t outrageously priced and they didn’t recommend a bunch of stuff that my car didn’t need like another shop that shall remain nameless did «cough» {firestone}. The only thing this place needs to be more awesome is a soda vending machine and another one that handsomely distributes snacks and I wouldn’t mind spending all day there while they fixed up my cars.
PS. They told me that to save time I can make an appointment by phone or online from their new website.

I saw their ad on the SD Reader that said $ 299 for a new clutch starting price, parts and labor included, «some cars and trucks slightly higher.» Now, I drive an old Nissan 200sx, 1.6lt, 4 cyl. This is the cheapest, easiest car to repair. Yet the quote they gave me on the phone was ~$ 500. I asked about the coupon and the technician said that this was the lowest price he could give me. If my Nissan cannot get the $ 299 price I really don’t see what car can. I called back and asked what car will get that price — just out of curiosity, I really wanted to know! The person on the phone refused to answer. As far as I’m concerned this is the most blatant case of false advertising.
But the worst was the customer service: I called to request a quote, I’m told someone will call me back. Fine. I was called THRICE, by three different people, to get the same ridiculous quote. The first dude was polite. But the second technician I got on the phone treated me like I was an idiot. After giving me the $ 500 price tag he said that the final price depended on «how you pay.» I asked if he meant that paying cash would get me a different price than paying by credit card, and he just snapped, «I mean, the price depends on how you pay!» I asked again, WHAT DOES THAT MEAN, and he just dismissed me, «this is the lowest price I can give you.» Actually, no: the lowest price you can give me is the price advertised on your coupon!
Anyway, the owner, George, called me a few minutes later to also give me a quote (pff!). I told him two people had already called me from his shop and that I was treated like an imbecile, so I was taking my business elsewhere. He was polite and apologetic, blah blah, but the point remains: the $ 299 advertised price is A LIE. And the staff is impolite. No thanks. I took my car to Luis Transmission in Convoy and I’m so glad I did — better price and amazing customer service.

Eric gets it done. If you need something, call him. He will help you figure out what you need and how to do it cost effectively. And he will get it to you on time and on budget. He has a lot of experience in meeting customer needs and will not disappoint.

I found George and company though a friend who recommended their work. I used to take my cars the the stealership, and get overcharged for everything on my Nissan 350z! Thankfully those days are no more!
Now George, Eric, and company are my GO TO mechanics. The trustworthy and fast service is unbeatable with these guys. Can’t stress how nice it is to be able to call George and be confident in their knowledge and mechanical expertise. They’ve saved me quite a bit on multiple occasions.

Yet again and as always, Eric and the Japanese Auto Plus crew have come through for me. I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again — these guys are patient, thorough, timely, fairly priced, and know how to prioritize for those of us on a budget.
Eric recently corrected a brake issue and replaced a couple of sensors for me, and as expected, I’m 100% satisfied. I’ll be back in a week for an oil change in my other car and then again in a couple of months to replace the wheel bearings on my truck!
PS — I love the «Joke of the Day» on their Facebook page. I read them every day!

For a long time I was taking my car to another auto shop that always tried to give me the «run around». George and his crew don’t do that, they listen to your needs, and they don’t tell you you need to fix anything that doesn’t need to be fixed! It’s a very HONEST and FRIENDLY auto shop! Thx to this place, I now have a great place to take my car!

You can’t find a better place to take your car! Eric helped me out the last two times I was there. He thoroughly explained everything that needed to be done, how the parts (the brakes in my case) worked, and showed me each part that needed fixing so I could personally see what I was paying for and why. I am on a budget, so they even created a priority list for me so I know what I should fix asap, and what things can wait. For the items that eventually would need to be replaced, they explained what I should look out for as well as printed estimates so I can plan and not have any financial surprises.
They were incredibly patient with my 100’s of questions and concerns with my car. This is an incredibly trustworthy place. I won’t go anywhere else!

Previous to the following events I had been a customer at Japanese Auto for several years. George and his crew had performed various maintenance needs on two of my cars with no memorable issues.
On February 8^th 2011 I took my Subaru to George when the engine piston started knocking; he told me I should replace it with a used engine and that he found the «best one available». He offered a 3 month warranty should it be defective.
On the way home after he replaced the engine the oil light came on and I heard a piston knocking. The following day it began to die anytime I pulled up to a stoplight. I took it back to the shop, told them the engine was bad, but they assured me «everything is just fine».
Over the next 4 weeks I returned my car to George and his shop four times, insisting that the piston was knocking and the engine was stalling. He did nothing but adjust the idle and send me home each time, refusing to believe that the engine was defective.
Then on May 1^st of last year the engine blew up on the highway and I had to have it towed to his shop. This was exactly 1 week before the end of the 3 month warranty.
For the following year George claimed he could not find an engine and could not fix it. Less than three months prior there he had implied there were multiple engines available, yet then suddenly there were none to be found.
18 months later I decided to file a complaint with the BAR. Their investigation revealed that George kept no record of any of our transactions with the engine and found him guilty of multiple violations. He changed his story and now claims the engine was not under warranty, though we just spent 18 months trying to find an engine to honor the warranty. And perhaps it’s coincidence, but after I filed a complaint he found an engine for sale after 18 months being told there were none to be found.
Because he will not honor his warranty I now have to take him to court to reclaim the $ 1600 I paid for the engine replacement, and this issue has drawn out for over a year and a half.
Lesson learned – be prepared to prove everything and always get a receipt, even if you aren’t charged for the work.

I was referred to George by a friend. Not knowing anything about cars, he patiently explained to me why my ‘check engine’ light was on. He fixed it and gave me an oil change SO QUICK! I was in and out of there in less than 10 minutes.
George was friendly and so were his staff. I didn’t feel like I was getting forced into buying anything.
Overall, great experience! I will be back to see George for all my future auto problems!

George and his staff are best and most economical repair shop I ever seen. They really know there stuff only using the best OEM and name brands like denso, NGK (not cheap stuff at Autozone etc.). He is honest, truthful, fair and his repair cost are very reasonable.
