Julio is AMAZING! I first went in for an oil change and tire rotation and he could clearly see I didn’t know much about my vehicle so he took the time to familiarize me with it and had me in and out of there in no time. Today my check engine light went on and I rolled in and he ran a diagnostics check and within 10 minutes had fixed the problem and had me on my way. Awesome customer service, awesome staff, and I refuse to take my car to be serviced anywhere else. Definitely the place to go if you want your vehicle reliably serviced and if you don’t want to be yanked around and overcharged. I would give it more stars if I could!

Used my Groupon for a synthetic blend oil change, tire rotation and 15 pt safety check. Julio was a pleasure to deal with. NO surprises. I made a reservation. I was taken quickly and got out quickly. Really confident that is a great place for oil changes. Highly recommended.

Went in for a check engine light diagnostic and I was in and out in less than 20 minutes (counting 10 to drive there!) and left without paying a cent: Julio was the guy that helped me and he was fantastic: efficiency, honesty, educationally, and personality!
I will definitely be coming back if I ever have another problem!

First and foremost… AMAZING staff. We hadn’t had the best of luck and was definitely going through one of the hardest times in my life. Dragonfly Auto. especially Julio and Oscar went out of their way to make us feel like family. Went above and beyond and for a complete stranger. Julio and his crew were amazing and offer the best customer service! They got me in for an oil change and tire rotation immediately and even stayed late to explain to me some of the issues I had regarding my scheduled maintenance. Their prices were very competitive and they really made me feel like a valued customer. I’ll be taking my vehicle there for any further service and will be telling my friends about them too!

Julio and his co workers had my car up and going within a few hours. They are extremely professional and have reasonable and affordable prices. They won’t over charge you, and their customer service skills deserve 10 stars if I could give them some. Definitely check this place out next time you need something done with your car. I just drove away from getting my oil changed and could not wait to write a review. JULIO IS THE DEFINITION OF TRUE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I bought a groupon for synthetic blend oil when my car actually requires full synthetic (I don’t know much about cars.) Julio was so understanding and honored my groupon. He chatted with me while I had to wait for my car and showed he genuinely cares for his customers. If you are looking for honest, quality automotive service, this is the place to go. I absolutely suggest getting anything automotive done here. The friendliest service and they won’t over charge you. Everything was don’t so promptly. I dropped my car off last minute and they had what I needed don’t that same day!!! Ask for Julio, he’s the nicest guy ever! Huge thank you to him when I needed car help!!!

At 7 months pregnant we needed to basically fix everything in my car before baby gets here because my other half needs a new car more. Julio was amazing. My car went in with almost all the warning lights on, scratched up, and making all sorts of noises. Two days later my car looked brand new and drove perfectly. He went above and beyond with the service and the price was definitely less than we would have paid anywhere else. I would definitely recommend Dragonfly Automotive to everyone for amazing honest service.

Brought my modded 94 mustang in for some work with the idle. They kept it for about three weeks, followed by a call telling me they simply gave up. After what would have been a $ 700 timing adjustment they returned my car in worse condition than it was before. After trying to talk me into replacing my engine I decided to cut my losses and go to another shop. A technician there also offered to sell me a car he had after trying to convince me my car was a lost cause. I would not recommend this shop at all. All around a bad experience with this shop and I will not be returning. Hopefully you won’t either.

I came here few times for minor things. The customer service was excellent. I’ve never been offered a ride by a mechanic shop before, and these guys were so nice as to offer me a ride back to my house. I got to know Julio, who currently runs the shop and is the main mechanic there, and I have to say that he is a damn good mechanic and super nice guy. He always detected the problem right away, fixed it for a reasonable amount of $$$, and the best of all gave me the car back when he said he would. I’ve dealt with few mechanics in the past and it was a nightmare from time to time. This guy is cheerful, friendly, knowledgeable (he worked as a mechanic at one of the Toyota dealerships), so I completely trust him with my cars. Unfortunately, I got a new car so he won’t be seeing me for a while :).

Just wanted to leave a quick review for Dragonfly Automotive.
These guys are phenomenal. The customer service is above and beyond anything I’ve ever encountered. My wife and I are from Colorado, and were visiting San Diego for a little vacation. Car broke down 90 miles outside town. Julio (the gm) kept the shop open after hours for us to wait for out tow service.
By the next day we had a full run down of all issues, fair and competitive prices, time frame for all repairs… they also hooked us up with an unbelievable car rental rate to get around SD while the repairs were done.
The car is in perfect condition, all repairs were done at a very good price, and the entire time I was secure in the knowledge that I made the right choice in coming to these guys.
They quite literally saved my car and my vacation, and I’ll always be grateful for that.
I’ve used lots of mechanics over the years on lots of different cars. I’ve never had customer service and peace of mind like this.

The new ownership is really turning this place around. I’ve worked with many mechanics and honestly can say there is no one better than Dragonfly. Awesome rates and SUPER fast service. Highly Recommend this business for all your automotive mechanical needs.

Quite simply, these guys are honest, hard-​working, do great work and don’t overcharge. Julio took care of my car last time and really went above and beyond. That’s what prompted me to write this review. It’s hard to find honest mechanics who really know what they’re doing. These guys are the best.

I wanted to give this place a well thought out review so it took me a little while to put it together. I first found this place on a recommendation from another friend. Glen was running it at the time and was a real straight up guy, so I followed them and continued to use them after they moved to their Midway location.
Now Julio has taken over and he’s fantastic. He is a certified Toyota tech and came over from the Toyota dealership to run his own shop. It is the only repair shop that I will trust with my car. If they have time they even give the car a quick detail.
Now let’s talk price, I’ve shopped around a lot in the past and they have beaten all the other places in town while letting you know how much they value you. They even have a discount on Unilocal right now for an oil change. This is where I would go to get a full synthetic oil change for my sports car. It beat out Jiffy Lube by nearly 40%. It’s worth calling them to see how much it runs for your car.
Because I live downtown I was able to get a courtesy ride home because my car was expected to be there for over 3 hours one day. I even got a ride back to the garage and they had gone above and beyond and cleaned the outside of my car. It’s these little touches that keep me coming back. They do a great job making you feel comfortable and treat you like family. I’ve never had one problem with them.
Luckily I’ve always gotten in right away and never had to wait, but I know they have a great reputation and a lot of cars come through in a day. They do a great job organizing their schedule and I’m never in there for long for anything little. I do usually call ahead to see if it’s ok that I bring my car in though.

One heck of a place with awesome graffiti art and service to boot. I took my car in after seeing a check engine light and within minutes I was told the mass air flow sensor set it off. They went the extra mile cleaning the sensor and resetting the indicator in time for me to catch my lunch.
I was shown were I could buy the part in case it failed on me and was invited to their upcoming graffiti art event and Halloween party. Talk about friendly and inviting. Oh and less I forget, the work was complimentary!

I’ve been going here since I moved to SD 2 years ago. I was so impressed with the original owner and have continued taking my car here through the transition when he fell ill. I was really sad to see him go, he was the type of guy that advised me AGAINST replacing my clutch because I didn’t really need it. I really respected his honesty and wish him well.
All this being said, in the last few weeks Julio bought the shop and is running it with some of the old staff. He had some big shoes to fill in my eyes, but I was SOOO impressed. He was honest, sincere and instead of charging me replace my catalytic converter, he found the actual issue and saved me a lot of money. The most important part of all this was, I felt really comfortable and know he’s honest. That will keep me coming back and telling my friends about Dragonfly.
When I come here, I feel like I have a cousin thats a mechanic. Thats how comfortable I feel and how much I trust them. Take your car here and find out for yourself, or come back if you were like me and a fan of the original owner. Would give six stars if I could!

CUSTOMER BEWARE. I brought my car in about 5 weeks ago and dealt with Joe, a pretty nice guy, but shortly after bringing it in I found out he left the company, so I went to pick my car up after hearing the news, and being told that the work was completed on it, (I just wanted to have my battery checked out to see if I needed a new one). I have a 330ci BMW and when I picked it up I noticed that one of my grills was missing… I asked the lady in front about it and she said she didn’t know what happened, it must have been Joe (I called him right after I was told that and he was completely unaware of the fact), and she’d look for it and call me back. Needless to say I never got a call back and when I finally did reach someone I was told «maybe it was loose» and they didn’t know what happened. Even though all of this happened when it was parked inside under their watch.
In summary they lost or damaged the part, and because they weren’t able to find it/didn’t want to admit it, I now have to pay for it out of my pocket. I was considering going to small claims court but didn’t feel the part was expensive enough to justify taking a full day off to go to court for. Maybe it’s the new management but I found the reviews did not match the service I received.

I was getting bored of how my car looked and decided it was time to customize. I looked at Google maps and Unilocal and found Dragonfly. I called and left a message figuring they must be busy. I got a call back shortly after from Joe. He told me to stop by his shop and he’d check it out and give me a quote that day.
I stopped by after work and was amazed at how big the shop was. Look for the red doors I was told… that was easy to find. Joe came out and greeted me and we got right to discussing all the customization options. Joe has a lot of great ideas. I decided to paint the b pillar (roof halo) on my C6 black to complete the black upper half of the car.
I was initially worried about leaving the car in old town area, but it was parked in the garage and the shop is locked up at night. It’s actually hard to tell that that big a shop is back in there.
Joe took the car, went above and beyond, and it looks great. He painted the roof piece and wet sanded it to perfection. I can’t say enough good things about Joe. What a stand up guy. The kind of guy you can meet randomly and instantly start talking like old friends. I’ll be coming back for more!
