Spoke to Sam on a Saturday. Told me to come in on a Monday morning and the owner didn’t show up. Said he will come in a few hours and never made it. I took pictures of a door problem and was quoted $ 1000.00 for fixing a door on a 2003 suv. Seriously! Went to j c wrecking and paid $ 200.00 for the door and $ 50.00 for the install. Saved $ and solved the problem in two hours. Call Junior at j c

Sam at Convoy Auto Body was very professional and took a lot of time to explain the repairs needed and the process. Things ended up costing less than anticipated — which has never happened to me, ever! We’re very happy with the work they did.

I took in my 2009 IS250 lexus for a new bumper. My car came out looking brand new and better than it was when I first took it in. They did an awesome job. Great shop! Someone hit my car and left no note. Went around to a bunch of different shops to get estimates, and Convoy Auto Body was the best bet. Very good service, and Sam is awesome! I was supposed to get my car back on Friday, but picked it up on Wednesday. Fast and excellent repairs. Go here, and say hi to Sam; he is super knowledgeable and helpful.

I first came here due to my Honda getting hit tony was so helpful thru the whole process my Honda was not repairable so he even helped me with insurance now I have a saab and all my repairs are done by him great price and very communicative I would highly recommend this place … thanks for al your help Tony

Sam and the folks at Convoy did a great job repairing body damage on my 2010 370Z. Color match is perfect, and the work was done on time and at the estimated price. Would use them again.

Sam Park’s of Convoy Car Care & Auto Body recently refurbished, repaired, and repainted our 1997 Volvo 850 R. The color of our Volvo is black. It had extensive paint damage from sitting in the sun too much and a ton of scratches, cracks, and blows to the body.
We were quoted a very reasonable price and although the job took a bit longer than we first expected, Sam and his team kept us updated, even texted us pictures and made phone calls to keep us in the loop as to the progress of the job.
We couldn’t be happier with the result, and were completely blown when picking the car up. Sam stuck to his quote and our car looked as beautiful as a black Lexus! Not only was our Volvo gorgeous, but the immense work, detail, and professionalism that had been undertaken by Sam and his team way exceeded our expectations. We found Convoy Auto Care and Auto Body through a recommendation through San Diego Referrals Group and we would HIGHLY recommend Sam and his team to anyone needing autobody work on their Volvo or any car for that matter.

Andy was a very nice guy, concerned, thorough and professional. (and handsome :))My car looks great, better than It did when I first got it. They removed all the dings and dents and painted the whole car. They also fixed a few other little things. I would reccomend this to everyone.

Every time I have had a problem with my car from age related issues, Tony is always able to fix the problem for half of the quote of the dealership. They stand by their work, are honest and very ethical!

Is there a way to rate this shop in the negative range? A –5 stars would do even though I’d like to give them at least a –10.
I was recommended to another shop by a friend, but they were still waiting on their certificates. So, I called around and found this place. Worst decision I’ve ever made when dealing with auto repair shops. This place is one of the reasons why I love to work on my own cars.
The guy in the office that answers the phones (forgot his name) was extremely nice. Wish I could say the same for their mechanic/​manager Tony.
My first visit didn’t go so well. I brought my car in for the inspection, it failed due to the following:
1. Brake lines need to be secured using brackets
2. Passenger side license plate light inoperable
3. Rear center stop light inoperable
4. Passenger side headlight out of adjustment
5. Car pulls to the left when braking from 25 mph to 0 mph
After spending $ 70 for the inspection (another $ 15 for the cert had I passed), Tony tells me that if I bring it back for a re-​inspection within 3 business days, the fee would be waived and I will only need to pay for the cert. I took the car in on a Wednesday, so the third day would be Saturday. He was fully booked and said that he would give me till Monday. I decide to use the weekend to get everything ready for the re-​inspection.
I fixed everything and just needed an alignment for problem #5. Also, when I was replacing the bulb for problem #3, I noticed that someone had unplugged the wiring harness and tucked it out of sight??? When Tony started on my car, the first thing he did was take it on a «test» drive on his own. I’m wondering if he tampered with the harness during that time? I mean who else would have had access to it?
Anyway, after all the repairs, I take it back to Tony and leave it there for 2+ hours. When I went to pick the car up at the end of the day he tells me that it still failed due to problems #4 and #5. I go back and forth with the guy and he tells me that I need to show him proof that the alignment shop did their job correctly. The other shop faxes over the results of my alignment and all of a sudden problem #5 is resolved (I thought he said the car was still pulling, how could a piece of paper fix this???). Then he asks if I have a receipt to the headlight adjustment. I didn’t take it to a shop since he said it was just slightly low. I told him I adjusted it myself. Then he tells me they do headlight adjustments for $ 55 but he couldn’t do it till the next day. Why didn’t he bring this up before?
I decide to take my car home since I was already starting to think that this guy was trying to pull a fast one on me. He starts to print out my paperwork and tells me it’ll only be half price today since it was a re-​inspection and would cost $ 49.
First off, $ 49 is not half of $ 70. Second, he said it would be free. After a heated argument, he stated that I should just take the car to someone else. I did just that and it passed with no issues. I didn’t make any changes at all from the last time I took it into this shop. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place… they know how to get your blood boiling!

I just finished using Convoy Auto Body for the second time this year,. and I gotta get on here and give them a great review. Both times were for minor repairs, which I chose to handle cash instead of through my insurance company. I was worried I would get burned, especially because I don’t know much about body work. Sam was really fair, the first time, he replaced and electric mirror on my work truck, and did it for what I thought was a very fair price. This week, I hit another car, and broke the other cars front turnsignal, housing, and lens. The owner of the other car wanted to fix it himself, so I only needed to buy the part. Sam charged me 50 bucks. 50 BUCKS. Who does anything for a car for 50 bucks. It is obvious that Sam realizes I am a lousy driver, and I will be using him for years to come, instead of trying to gouge me for a one time sale. It is refreshing to meet someone who isn’t greedy. Sam, you have a customer for life!

The team at Convoy Auto Body did an excellent job on my car! It was my first (and hopefully only) accident, so this whole process was new to me. Sam and Frank the owner, and manager were wonderful, very respectful, and the quality of the work was impressive. Not only were they polite and friendly, but my work hours weren’t coinciding with their hours of operation, and Sam stayed late to do an estimate for me. They also were so kind as to help me with a loaner car, as my insurance wouldn’t have covered a rental. I can’t say enough good things about this place. I will definately take my car back to them anytime I am in need of some work!

After doing my research of getting quotes all around San Diego for body work to repair a very long vertical dent on my ’09 Scion tC, i decided to go with Convoy Auto Body because no one could beat their price. I was referred to them by a friend who had some major work done and he told me to ask for Sam. The quality of their work is immaculate and their service is genuine. Sam was honest with me and told me it was a big job to bend the quarter panel back and that a majority of the cost would be for paint. He roughly (and very generously) estimated it to be around a $ 700 job, which everywhere else quoted me well over $ 1000. The result was immaculate. The only flaw was that I had asked him to rub out a small scratch, which he forgot to do in the main job, but he told me to bring it back and he cleaned it up in less than 10 minutes.
Sam also advised me on the best way to go out about dealing with an insurance claim and suggested they come to estimate the car, and I can decide then if I wanted to pay out of pocked or go through them. Overall, I’m really pleased with this small ma and pop shop and will gladly send my car back to have it repaired with Sam and his team!

I’ve been going to this auto body shop ever since I got into my first car accident in high school. They provide excellent customer service and are trustworthy. Other auto mechanics and shops always try to rip you off and exploit your lack of knowledge with cars, but Sam always tells the truth and is honest about what needs to be fixed and what isn’t that urgent. I highly recommend going here if you have any car problems. My experience has been nothing short of exceptional

I wish there was a 0 rating for this place I took my car in here after an accident and it was suppose to take only ONE WEEK. ONE WEEK. Its been almost one month and I told them ill come get it last friday. I had no time to get it but they never ever checked up on me. This is ridiculous. Before hand after about the 2^nd week I let them off. But when it came to the 4^th week, and we went to complain and said we wanted at least a discount. They made up excuses and kept saying it wasn’t there duty and fault. blah blah blah. I hate it here. Not recommend at all. The really do jip you. alsjdf;adjs. AHHH hate this place hate hate hate. DONT GO HERE. You can tell its a horrible place here beacuse of the other ratings too. Dont go here pleaseee. Thanks.

This place used to be called Tap’s Auto Care. They are horrible. Here is from a previous review that I wrote:
About 1 ½ yrs ago, we took it here to have brake work done. They did both the front and back brakes and replaced the shocks, all for about $ 1000. Although they were nice, they totally botched the job. We were hearing noises immediately after picking it up. They said that when we go down hills, we should use the gears to downshift (it’s an automatic!), that the noise is from the way we were driving it. Yeah, right. That’s why we never had any noise before the brake problems. Anyway, we didn’t trust this so we took it to a dealership to check out. They told us that Convoy Auto Care didn’t put the shim kits on, which are necessary when you use aftermarket pads. We took it back to Convoy Auto Care and they said they put the shim kit on. Well, ever since then, when we go down really steep hills like on Texas Street, we heard a grinding noise. We bought into downshifting and that seemed to help. 1 ½ yrs later, we had constant noise from the front brakes. The dealership said there was no shim kit put on AND the front brakes needed to be re-​did. I do not drive that much, maybe 12,000 miles a year. I feel the brake job should have lasted longer than that. They also said that it was BS that we should have to use the gears to brake. I figure it’s only a matter of time before the back brakes and shocks need to be re-​did. Even though I think they should re-​do their work, I will not take it back there because I don’t feel they know what they are doing. I would stay as far away from this place as possible. I also have a friend that took her car here because the seatbelt light stayed on. You know how they fixed it? They disconnected the warning light wire! Beware!
