Boyd Turner Custom Painting is a full service, owner operated, San Diego painting contractor specializing in the painting of fine coastal properties. We take great pride in servicing the unique needs of our painting clients. Our goal is to build long lasting business relationships in the communities where we live and work.

History

Established in 1996.

Boyd Turner grew up in the Painting industry of California. Boyd’s grandfather was one of the first members of the San Francisco Painters and Decorators Union in the early 1900’s, Boyd’s father was the Union Steward for the San Jose Chapter of Painters and Decorators, and Boyd’s mother was a member of American Society of Interior Decorators. Boyd grew up napping on drop clothes and working every summer at his parent’s Painting business learning the trade.

After a stint in the California Conservation Corps, Boyd decided to go out on his own and made his way down to San Diego where he settled in Ocean Beach. Boyd went to work for several successful San Diego Painting Companies. After seeing a real need for personal and customized painting in the San Diego Beach communities, Boyd took the California State Licensing exam and started his own company, Boyd Turner Custom Painting, in 1996.
