Buying a new home is never an easy thing. Coupled with an out of state move it can be a potential nightmare! It can, however, be made easier with the right people on your side. Thankfully we were lucky enough to find the right people for the job: The Liu Group!
And so…
We were looking for properties to purchase in Portland, OR in 2014 for our move from California; where we had resided for fifteen years, during which we had purchased other homes. We found Joe Liu on a routine web search of real estate agents in the local Portland area, and he seemed to be a good fit. After reviewing many satisfied testimonials from previous customers, we decided to make the call and set up what turned out to be a successful initial meeting. Joe did not disappoint: a pleasant, approachable personality, a good listener and an expert in the local real estate market!
Decided that we were comfortable with Joe and his team to help us with our purchase and transition, we moved forward with what was the biggest part of our endeavor — the establishment of a comfortable, safe new home in a totally new area to us!
Due to the team’s diligence, professionalism, established network and efforts, we were able to locate a very desirable property in the extremely nice waterfront neighborhood in downtown Portland. We closed escrow within a very short period of time and made the move almost immediately. Seamless!
We have kept a close business and personal relationship ever since, and due to our confidence in Joe and his team have employed them to close a second successful real estate transaction recently.
We will be looking again in 2017, and will not hesitate to make that call!

I have worked with Joe and his team for over a year. We live out of state and it was surprisingly pleasant. They often went out of their way to give me video and insight on properties my wife and I were interested in. We have since recommended several of our friends and colleagues to team Liu.

The Lui Group represented me as a seller for my rental property. They were extremely professional and pleasant to work with and things went smoothly from start to finish. The property did not sell as quickly as we thought it would but their energy and attention to marketing never faltered and the end results were just what we hoped for. I would certainly use Joe Liu and his group again and recommend them to others.

Have to give the Liu Group extra credit for being a great team. As a consumer, it is difficult to get the attention needed to your purchase, sale or both.
A team offers a capability to perform and offer the ‘attention to detail’ needed to keep a consumer happy. Being your realtor most likely has other clients demanding the same attention, a team would be most efficient. Not so easy to do.
The Liu group is a team of individuals fully capable of handling any task, but with specified talents in each segment, and when combined with the overall goal to keep each teammate ahead, and with the their client’s best interest at heart, you have a team that can accomplish miracles.

Making a cross-​country move from a very different housing market to the Portland was very daunting to say the least. After doing a random Unilocal search I was connected to the Liu Group and not knowing much about the area or even where we wanted to be our agent (Ashley Robinett) did a FANTASTIC job of helping us find the absolute perfect home. Regular and consistent emails while still living in Missouri were key to us narrowing down the area we wanted to live in. If you are in need of an agent then you will not be disappointed with the professionalism and the incredible people at the Liu Group. In the entire process we were cared for always in the loop of where things were at and how things were going. The entire staff was willing to help us in whatever way the could to make this as easy as possible. I have already recommended them to friends that have mentioned the need to find a realtor and will continue to recommend them in the future.

This review has been way too long in the waiting. We were in a very stressful situation of having looked online at houses for a few years and having dwindled down our house search to the Portland area. Through word-​of-​mouth, we were referred over to Joe Liu who had sold two of our friends’ properties.
He immediately referred us over to Ashley who was on the selling end and what a fantastic experience from beginning to end! We started out receiving their automated listings specified to our specs (which we had adjusted through a long time of using other online real estate websites). We looked through these and adjusted them before meeting Ashely in person at which point we dove right into house shopping.
We didn’t know how long it would take to find our home — a few months? A year?
With Ashley’s incredible hard work meeting us everywhere and making sure homes were open for viewing, very genuine personality and honest opinion, we managed to find a house more quickly than we would have fathomed possible! I loved how she didn’t waste our time and was never condescending or dismissive of our demanding and sometimes conflicting parameters (i.e. my husband wanted big acreage, I wanted to a shorter commute to downtown, etc).
I was incredibly anxious during the offer/​negotiation/​closing process, but more than anybody else we had to work with during this time, Ashley really helped calm my nerves and stay steady through discussing what the seller wanted to repairs we would realistically have to consider and budget.
While this was our first home, I had been through the home-​buying process with my mother and several agents, and Ashley is competitive with the best of them.
We’ve now lived in our perfect dream house for ~3 months and we are sooooo in love with it. Heck, even our 2-​year-​old daughter fell in love with Ashley.
Thanks soooo much and, while we have no plans on selling our home in the next decade, if the time arrives in a decade or two when we are considering selling or buying another/​second home, we would go with Keller Williams in a split second.

How this group gets 5 stars is beyond me. If you like being pawned off on an agent that doesn’t have initiative, then this group is for you.
However, if you actually want an agent that will be proactive and communicate well with you, keep looking. Oh and their office is in the Lloyd center area, not in Beaverton. Very misleading address on Unilocal.
Don’t waste your time here

Joe and his team helped us find and buy our first home in a process that was pretty much as smooth and as good as I could have ever imagined.
During the «search phase», they were in constant communication and provided suggestions that were spot on with our very long wish list. We only had to see a few houses (all were great options) before we found «the one». Throughout the shopping process, the showing agent was really flexible with our busy schedules, and very friendly, not pushy or overbearing.
Once we found our home, we were advised that we had to act quickly because the property was highly sought after (there were 4 total offers), so in just 2 days, I think Joe and his team were able to quickly arrange 3 or 4 different visits for us so that we could make sure we were ready to move forward.
From there, Joe’s team skillfully guided us through each step of the home buying process, answering our many questions (at all hours of the day) while being extremely timely, objective, and positive. The closing process was great, but I should add that it does take a commitment from all parties involved (including my partner and I) to ensure that everything goes well. That means we as home buyers also had to do our own in depth research and make every effort to carefully review and sign documents as they were presented to us.
There was one tiny hiccup with a more complicated contract issue… Joe’s expert team took the extra step to try and get us additional protection, but unfortunately, the sellers were unwilling to agree. Despite that, we appreciated the effort put forth.
Once the deal was closed, Joe and his team stayed in touch with us to make sure that we were happy in our new home. It has been 5 months since we moved into our house, and they still make an effort to reach out periodically and ensure our satisfaction. From beginning to end (and beyond), Joe and his team were outstanding. I can’t recommend him enough!

If you looked up «realtor’s worst nightmare», I’m pretty sure that you’d find a picture of me! I was the perfect combination of super picky and super wishy-​washy throughout the whole process of looking for places. He probably showed me…30 or so homes in the Beaverton area. I even wound up putting an offer down on one, got it accepted, and then backed out at the last minute. Stressful time… I’m surprised he didn’t just drop me then!
Through all of this though, Joe was always an absolute professional, very nice, and extremely helpful. Whenever I had a question about anything, he would answer right away, and was always looking out for me. He knows a ton about the real estate market, and I would recommend him to anyone!
Anyways, I just closed on a condo in Uptown Portland, and yes, he was a tremendous help throughout the buying process. I will definitely work with him again the next time I either buy or sell a place!

After striking out on our first realtor, we decided to change it up and try someone who our friend had recommended. I would say it was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.
I can tell you, Joe knows the ins and outs of this business and he gives you the honest truth. I like how he doesn’t stick to one area but rather the entire city, wither it be the east side of town or the west side. He knows it all
One problem I remember having with my first realtor was just trying to get a hold of him. With Joe, I could email, text, or phone call. His response time was incredible. Very punctual when we had an appointment. He was always there to answer any questions, and trust me, my wife had a lot of questions
For first time buyers, Joe made everything go smoothly and was delight to work with.

Joe Liu was an excellent agent. I was moving back to the Portland area, and had ideas of what I wanted. After meeting up for coffee to discuss the ideas I had for the house, he was able to run with that information and found me the perfect home.
