January 3^rd I called radio cab to get a ride to work it was great experience. The driver got me there safely.
At 4:40 in the afternoon I called radio cab for a pick up to get me home. 4 hours later I’m still waiting… I called them twice they would not give me a pick up time they only told me that I was second in line to be picked up. That’s strange that it would take 4 hours to drive someone somewhere when I was supposed to be next in line. For you folks out there looking for a cab don’t bother with Radio cab! Especially if they tell you your first second third in line… It’s BS.

I was leaving Portland today after the ice storm and never doubted that I had a safe and dependable ride to the airport from Radio Cab. The streets are covered in ice and I had to get to the airport by 930pm so I scheduled a cab pick up for 830pm. I received a confirmation email that Radio Cab would pick me up. Well, 830 came and went with out a pick up. I had so much faith in their services so I just kept trying to call them but there was no answer. For an HOUR! All the phone lines were busy/​went to voicemail for all cab companies in the area so I ended up having to take an Über and nearly missed my flight. Not my first choice, ever. I am so disappointed in Radio Cab. So much for being able to rely on them. Will never use them again. Worst.

Easiest and quickest cab experience I’ve ever had. I needed a ride on a holiday evening to the airport and a cab arrived about five minutes after making the call. The cab was clean and the driver took us quickly to the airport without any fuss. He had the cash change we needed and there’s also a credit card swiper behind the passenger seat.

I wish I could leave ZERO stars. Here’s why. My family of 6 called to request van pickup to go to the airport at 8:45am. By 9am, they had not shown up, we called back and were told that they didn’t know where their van was & didn’t have a another van to come and get us. When my husband told dispatch they should have called to let us know (he was not yelling/​cursing or behaving inappropriately), the lady hung up on him. They should have sent two cabs if they did not have a van. When people need to go to the airport they are on a time schedule. At that point, because we were nervous about timing and the airport being busy after Christmas, we ended up driving our van and parking in long term garage ($ 21 per day for a 10 day trip) Thanks for a big fat nothing Radio cab!

Car troubles had me call a cab almost an hour before before I needed a ride to work, they assured me it would be here at 640am. Nope, called again, they said it would be ¹⁵⁄₂₀ max. That just isn’t going to cut it radio cab. Be consistent!

Left me stranded. I called in with a two hour notice for a 6 mile drive. They never showed, the operator never assigned a driver. Terrible.

NEVER AGAIN… TWICE they have left me stranded and we called and called…

First time customer. My cabbie was early and waited until the time I requested to drop a meter. Friendly, safe driver.

Friendly, efficient and the price was fine.

Scheduled a cab for the early AM to make sure I would get to the airport on time for an international flight. Cab didn’t arrive at the scheduled time. Called Radio Cab twice to ask about status; both times the lady said a cab was less than 5 min away. Unfortunately, Radio Cab never showed up. They never even called. I finally called an Über. By that time it was 40 minutes past my scheduled pickup time with Radio.
Bottom line: Radio Cab completely failed to do its basic function. They also lied to me (twice) and jeopardized my on-​time arrival for a flight to Ireland. Very disappointed. Should have called Über from the start. (Note: Unilocal made me give Radio Cab at least one star in order to post this review!)

The difference between a 5-​star rating and 1-​star rating doesn’t take much. If you’re not consistent, how can you earn a good rating?
I had surgery and I can’t walk. They are aware I am on crutches because it is apparently in their system. I called a cab to pick me up as soon as possible. He said he would send a cab right over. It took 30 minutes for the cab to show up. I called twice while waiting, the first time I called, the guy told me the cab was about 2 miles away. Well, there’s the first problem. If he was 2 miles away by the time I called, then how many miles away when he started? In the meantime, I saw other cabs driving around where I was. How does the dispatcher send a cab that is 30 minutes away from me instead of one that is nearby? Then when the driver finally comes, he seems to feel bad about me waiting, but he starts going the wrong direction and takes me way out of the way, and almost hits someone with his car. He also won’t stop yammering as I don’t respond, clearly uninterested in talking to him. So, he stops the meter at what the fare should’ve cost and doesn’t charge me for him getting lost. I don’t tip him and somehow I am left feeling like the jerk for not tipping him when everything about the service was a disaster and just made me mad. Leaving someone standing outside for 30 minutes on one foot isn’t cool and I wasn’t given any indication the cab would take so long so I wouldn’t stand at the curb like an idiot. The dispatcher who did this sucks, and the cab that took the assignment sucks too.
Other cab rides have been mostly fine, except for the guy on the other direction of my aforementioned trip who made awkward comments about being able to feed his family because I was getting a ride, basically guilting me into tipping him well. All in all, I won’t be able to walk or drive for a few weeks and for my next outing, I think I will try another service. Radio Cab lost me today.

Got a ride from the airport to my rental truck.
My driver arrived 5 minutes after I called and he was pleasant and knew exactly how to get to the rental place.
Just like everyone other Radio Cab ride I’ve gotten. Definitely recommended!

I am a handicapped person and my wife and I arrived via train for July 4^th. After being stiffed by another cab service which touted an accessible vehicle, we searched and found this company.

Quick, professional, personable top notch service with a good rate.
I can not recommend their service more highly.

I wish I could say good things about radio cab. I’ve had a few interactions with them that have been less than stellar, (called for a cab and waited over an hour without one showing) but this most recent episode takes the cake. After a traffic accident sidelined my bus, I called radio cab to get to my job on time. The driver I got was called Stevie, and he spent the entire trip, about 25 minutes, explicitly sexually harassing me. Now, I don’t normally worry to much when calling such a well known company like radio cab about being a woman riding alone but this guy had me thinking I might not get out of this cab… ever. When we got close to my destination and he pulled over I paid and practically ran the 4 more blocks to work. Terrifying. Gross. Rude. Not needed.
I called the dispatch people and asked to be put through to management and left a message about my experience. The manager called me back and seemed apologetic enough, but I’ll never call them again. Women of Portland be warned! Don’t ride with Stevie

I’ve had some good and bad experiences with this cab company. During the week when there’s less customers, they of course arrive within 10 minutes of calling, and the drivers tend to be more friendly and hospitable.
On Friday and Saturday nights though, expect to wait an hour or more. I have waited an hour in the past and then called back for them to tell me that «your cab arrived long ago, they couldn’t find you.» So no courtesy call. This was only one instance where they just didn’t call to alert me they had arrived. But the wait times on weekends can be pretty lengthy.
This cab company is reliable and quick during the weekdays. If you need a cab during this time, I really recommend them! Most drivers know the area/​and or are easy to give direction to.

We were mainly using Über while visiting Portland, but since they sometimes have waits we decided to go with Radio Cab to get to the airport, yesterday morning, because cab services allow you to schedule your pickup time in advance whereas with Über you don’t know until you request the ride how long the line is.
The driver picked us up at the Eastside Lodge 20 minutes late, including calling us for directions when we clearly did not live in Portland, and circling around the block but being unable to see the place. When he did pick us up, it turned out that he did not know how to get to the airport.
To repeat: our cab drive did not know how to get to the airport. And I don’t even mean from our totally central location, I mean he said that he did not know where the airport was relative to the city. Once we pulled out our GPS and started giving him directions, he repeatedly missed the turns we were telling him to take.
The stakes were very high. This was the only flight that could get us back in town in time for my friend to get to work in the evening and he had been given a strong warning about what would happen if he wasn’t there on time. In the end, we made it, though not with a lot of time to spare and absolutely no thanks to him (who, for that matter, wanted to stop following the GPS because at one point thought he knew where he was and knew a «better» way to get there, despite not knowing where it was, which we then had to stop him from taking).
The driver was abysmal on most levels, and his driving outside of knowing how to get there and following GPS instructions was very bad. He mentioned several times that it was his second day on the job, though if he didn’t even know where the Airport was it felt more like it was his second day in the city. He did not have a working GPS, or did not know how to use his own. I think that it reflects very poorly on the company that they would hire someone who doesn’t know where the airport is or how to use GPS, much less that they would send someone like him for a pre-​scheduled trip to the airport which is one of the most time sensitive rides someone can hire.

I have come here to get gas for years, It often has the best prices around, though not always. I find there prices lag when gas is going up or down in price.
They are inside an old building with cab parking and an auto shop. The prices are posted on the outside of the building. you pull into the building which means is bad weather you are more protected.
They only have one pump island. So on rare occasions there can be a line.
My biggest complaint is sometimes there is someone parked there having a conversation with the attendant and they want me to pull on the other side so they can drag the gas hose accross my car to fill it. I have at times at various stations had my cars scuffed when this is done and I dont want to take that chance here. They can be quite insistent though so I just pull through and go somewhere else. If not for that occasional issue I would give them a fourth star.

So I’ve been using radio cab for years… Tonight I tried to call and tell them the cross streets I’m at, they tell me they need an address, so I give them the address of the place im in front of and they tell me to give them the address I’m actually at and hang up on me. This exact same thing happens twice!!!
People either need to learn to compete or die of unwillingness. I was a loyal radio cab supporter since the beginning and through ubers illegal entrance in to the market. Today customer service and unwillingness help a client has cost radio cab a long time customer and avid supporter. Many people use cabs because I recommend them and play an integral part in Portland business. I support legal competition, and now über will get the thousands of dollars of business radio cab has lost.
Yo radio cab; have you lost the ability to compete?

I’m over it. I used to give Radio the benefit of the doubt because I’ve had some great experiences in the past, but I’ve had quite a few negative experiences recently so I’m finally dropping them down to where they need to be.
This morning it happened again. The last THREE times I’ve scheduled a cab about 20 – 24 hours in advance (twice online, once via phone), to get to the airport early in the morning, I’ve been left high and dry. The last two times, they simply couldn’t find a cab to dispatch. This time they didn’t have the reservation at all. I got a confirmation number, a follow up email, and when I called RC at the time my cab was supposed to be there this morning, they didn’t have anything in their records. Gee guys, it’s not like I have anywhere to be or anything.
Mad love to my friends who work in the cab industry. I do love you guys, but something’s gotta give. I have to drive to the airport, spend a shitload of money on parking, and leave my car in a lot for a week because you can’t GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER enough to make sure your system works. No other company or industry would survive with such crappy service.
I’d say this is payback for the whole Über thing, but I’ve been having these troubles with Radio Cab for a year now. And they were my last great hope, since Broadway is abysmal. Ugh.
The part that pains me the most about this is that when it comes to cabs in Portland, I’ve found the RC drivers to be the nicest, friendliest, and most honest. But that’s when I can actually get one to come to my house. Or I happen to be able to flag one downtown.
I guess normally I’d still give this biz 2 stars for my past experiences, but messing with my airport trips when you have tons of notice cuts to my core. 24 hours should be enough notice. But now instead of having my money, the airport parking lot does. And you get this instead.
Pick up your game, RC. You used to be so awesome.

The day before my trip, I booked a radio cab using Curb, (the taxi answer to Über) and received a confirmation of my pick up. When I hadn’t heard from anyone the morning of, I called Radio Cab 15 minutes before my scheduled pick up.
LN: «Hey there — just calling to confirm my pick up this morning.»
RC: «Hi! Is this Laura? 5:15am right? Yep, we’ll be there!»
Done. dusted. Right? Wrong. My phone rang 5 minutes after my scheduled pick-​up time and rather than tell me that the cab was outside, it was a driver telling me that he would arrive in 10 minutes.
In some circumstances, arriving 15 minutes late wouldn’t be a problem. And I will take ownership in the fact that I booked a pick-​up time up that would get me to the airport *right* on time. (I left only a 10 minute margin of error.)
But having a cab pick me up on time is why I booked the day before, and why I called to confirm the morning of. I don’t want to have to treat my cab company like I treat my brother: telling him that the party starts 30 minutes earlier than it does so that he arrives somewhat on time.
I’ve used Radio Cab before and found the drivers to be absolutely lovely and the cars to be clean. And I do agree that they’re the best of what’s currently available in Portland. But when I rely (and am promised when I double check) on a service to arrive on time and it doesn’t? My trust goes out the window. Counting the days until Über launches…
