I had two appointments schedule to have my AC unit looked at along with pricing for a new unit. Friday I was suppose to have someone come out after 1 pm. I waited until 5:30 pm and when no one came I called in company back. Spoke with Jason who lost track of time and was unable to come out. He assured me he would have tech come out Monday between 8 and 10 am. Again I took a day off work to have them come look at my unit. Another no show from the company. I called in again to find out that my Monday appointment was never schedule. Left a message for Jason to call me back and still haven’t recurve a call back. I wouldn’t recommend this company just based on the reviews I read and what little contact I had with the company.

AZ summer heat started and as a result my 12 – 13 years old AC decided to take a dump on a Friday afternoon. Called Sundevil for a check up and paid a $ 60 service fee. A tech came out on Saturday afternoon and found that the AC coil is leaking freon. Recommended to replace system and prices seemed reasonable for new systems. Unfortunately I found much better pricing with another contractor. They priced me $ 5k + tax for a 13 SEER Rheem, i found a 14 SEER Goodman installed for $ 5k. Not bad pricing but 13 SEER is being phased out.
I rated them three stars because I’ve been having them come out every year for a check up for the past 3 years. and not once anyone mentioned about a leaking for quite some time. It’s a simple test using a tool which can tell you if you have freon in the air. With a pregnant wife it makes it even worse.
Make sure you used living social as their pricing on that site is much better.

We have known Jason for a while and were in need of a checkup before the summer for our system since it is 10 years old. The work performed was great and they were easy to work with. Jason and his team were professional and courteous through the entire experience. This summer our system performed great and our power bills were actually lower than previous years, even with our dated equipment.
Some of the other reviews are surprising considering our experience with Sun Devil. We would recommend Sun Devil and will use them again.

I currently had my entire AC unit replaced. Had issues back in August. Just saved enough money and Jason honored his price. GREAT GUY!!!
I would totally recommend Jason and his team for any and all of my AC or heating needs. GOOD JOB!!!

We had Sun Devil Heating come out yesterday to give our AC unit a tune up (It was functioning fine) due to recent Haboob. When the technician came out (He was two hours late) he stated we needed a new capacitor for which he quoted us $ 350.00. I told him I would like to call around to try to get the best price (for which I found the part is $ 8.00). He stated he recommended doing it right now and was annoyed we wanted to call around. After he finally left our AC unit no longer functioned (it wouldn’t even turn on) When we called Sun Devil Heating and cooling they stated it wasn’t their fault as the tech stated we needed a new part. (Once again it was functioning perfectly fine before they arrived) After we asked if they could please send someone back out to please fix the problem they clearly created, and they said they would for $ 250.00. We stated we should not be responsible for paying them anything as they clearly broke (disabled) our unit. They refused and then both the main number as well as the technician hung up on us repeatedly. At this point we want nothing to do with this shady company so we are having another reputable company come out today to fix the problems Sun Devil created. We were forced to get a hotel last night as our house reached temps of over 102 degrees. I have NEVER had such bad customer service or been screwed over by a crooked company like this before

I posted this review on BBB last year, figured Unilocalsters should also know about these guys.
I believe that Sun Devil Heating and Cooling, Inc. sold me a thermostat when nothing was wrong with my unit other than icing over of the coils which I cannot prove now as they took the old thermostat with them. Even if the thermostat was indeed bad and in need of replacement. I cannot recommend this company as it will cost you heavily even for the simplest repair at $ 59.95 trip charge and $ 270.00 PER HOUR there after and that’s without even considering what the parts will cost you. They will try and justify their charges by comparing themselves to the other bad companies who also overcharge and rip people off. «Our rates aren’t as bad as_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​.» My thoughts to that are just because they are not as bad as the worst out there doesn’t make them good!
An update from my previous post above.
About 2 weeks later I had the same exact problem, called another A/​C guy out and turned out to be as I suspected the coils were iced over. So SDHC took my perfectly good, expensive programmable thermostat, and sold me a cheap one at twice the price and and charged me a ridiculous hourly rate to do it.

I called about six HVAC companies to come out and give me estimates on a new ac/​gas pack unit. Jason with Sun devil was the only one who actually spent some time with me and actually provided me an estimate on the spot. Talking with Jason was like talking to an old friend. He is one hell of a guy! Most of the other companies that come out spent maybe 10 minutes and said I will get back to you. I am still awaiting estimates from some of them. I am going to tell you right now, no one will beat sun devils price and service! I got a 5 ton 14 seer unit for the price of a 4 ton 13 seer unit that most had quoted me. Once Jason and I settled on a price, he had his guys out the next day and BOOM it was installed with out a hitch! Call these guys you will not be disappointed! Thanks again Jason, you rock man!

I found this business listed on Craig’s List. I called spoke to Jason the owner I explained that my AC was recently charged and was and now the ac unit is not turning on. I checked the unit it was not turning on. I also stated that BEFORE THIS it was blowing warm air. I would like the entire system checked. A technician cam out on changed bad capacitor. Then proceeded to check just the ac unit nothing else… I called and spoke to the tech I asked him to check entire system. and I insisted on this He said the system checked out fine… He said the vents were pushing 70 degrees. So I took them for there word. When the temp started to go up outside after 2 months, my home was not cooling upstairs, my SRP bill doubled.(I verified that is was after their visit) I recalled them they said that it was not related and I would be charged a service call. I said yes it is, I told you before unit stopped working it was blowing warm air. No we do not warranty service that we do not preform. You checked the entire system??? That is not covered??? He said there will be a charge. We called another AC company they came out, found the AC unit downstairs was good, so the capacitor they changed was fine, he said wow very intresting I will need to check the rest of the system. He then checked the vents upstairs found, temp output only 10 degrees lower than room temp. He said something is wrong. He checked the handlers, I asked is this part of the entire system he said yes. He found a DEFROST STRIP WAS SHORTED. This strip was on before Sun Devil came out and after. My SRP bill was $ 1700 in three months. Know since the other company fixed the other issue usage is down by over 50KW WOW. If the Tech from SUNDEVIL did what I asked by checking the entire system «handlers» I would not have had to pay someone else to find it and an enormous electric bill…. I complained to the BBB, the company’s answer was.
«We offer a full refund of the monies charged ($ 157.20) in good faith that we don’t want to continue this charade with this customer. This does not mean we are admitting fault, but however, have chosen to handle this situation legally and don’t wish to impact our rating with the BBB through any unresolved differences.»
I just wanted them to admit to the mistake, and not make sure to do what customers ask them to do. I do not know why their tech did not check the entire system???
