On Time Air Conditioning & Heating

Summary: Rude, lazy technicians; pushy sales people; price gouging
I had previously used On Time Air to install a heat pump at our last house after the hailstorm of October 2010. The crew did a great job, so after we moved and had a problem with a heat pump that was just out of warranty, I decided to use On Time Air again.
We have two heat pump split systems and one of them was blowing cool air when on the heat setting in December 2015. A technician came out, topped off the refrigerant and told me we had a leak. He attempted to charge me $ 270 for 5 pounds of R-​410 and a visual leak check. He also stated that since he couldn’t locate it, another technician would need to come out and do a compression test the following day.
I talked him down to $ 170 for the recharge (if he was willing to go this low, why charge more?) and scheduled the test for the next day. I was told that it was very involved and they would need to evacuate the system, fill it with nitrogen and dye, then visually inspect all of the coils and lines, then clean the system and recharge it. I was given an estimate of $ 540 for this test.
Upon the next technician arriving the next day, he spent about ten minutes with leak detecting machine and found the leak. He then closed everything up before showing me the leak. He told me the indoor coil was leaking and that we would need to replace it. He then gave me an estimate of $ 3,671 and told me I’d be better off replacing the whole unit, which they would be happy to do.
I told him that I would call around to get other estimates and to please make sure my invoice did not include the full cost of the leak test since that was not what he performed.
A salesman called me approximately three times over the following week to try and get me to buy a new system or get the coil replaced, even after I told them to stop calling and that I would call them if I was interested.
Additionally, they charged my card a total of $ 710.15 for the «work» they did. After multiple calls to their billing department and speaking with a manager, they did refund a portion of that.
After all was said and done, I went with another company (check my other reviews) who charged approximately half the cost to replace the coil. That price included the new coil, miscellaneous supplies, four pounds of R-​410a, and two follow up checks.

Very happy to have a company state the obvious about AC repairs… «How can you charge a price if you don’t know what it is doing? «. First time an AC company is up front about troubleshooting an AC problem.

This company merged with 72 Degrees and Patrick Riley recently. I had them come out to service an issue with my hvac unit, was told not repairable, and needed replacing, it’s old, I understand. Received an outrageous quote for a decent unit, then a day later received a slightly lower quote for a horrible unit. Told them I would go with another company. Received a phone call the following day with a $ 2k less quote for a top of the line unit. Clearly they wanted my business after they realized I didn’t take the first two bites. Not how one should run a business. In addition they charged my card twice for the service call and after 7 days it was resolved due to the accountant not being in.

You have found your AC guys! Call them! Ted and his team just did a complete AC installation for us and we are very, very pleased with the results. They are fast, friendly, and courteous. Everything was completed in a day. Our Trane unit works like a dream and our master bedroom is finally cool and comfortable. Call On Time Air! You can’t go wrong!

This company just ignores me.
I was about to replace the air conditioner and asked them to estimate the cost last week. They came to my home to check it out. They promised me that they will call me back later with exact cost. However, so far, they never give me a call at all. Just ignored.
Today, I replaced my air conditioner with another company.
Do not trust this company.
This company does not work ON time.

When the technician came to our home for the semi annual service call he was polite, and very personable. After the inspection he gave us a complete summary on the condition of our two systems, what needed to be serviced soon and what to look forward to in the next year. I highly recommend On Time Air, Kristi and her team are a first class operation!

We had an AC that had been leaking refrigerant for an unknown amount of time. What triggered our finding out about it was that it would no longer cool the house. Instead of repairing the unit that had leaked, we had already made up our mind to replace it completely. It was a Goodman — very cheap and very inefficient. So, we called One Time AC and Heating (as well as several other AC companies around the valley). Of all of the companies we called, One Time AC had the lowest price for the unit we wanted. The staff that came to install it were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We have another Goodman, and when we are ready to replace it, we’ll be calling on them again.

I called in for emergency service after trying about 20 other companies. On Time was the only one to actually offer after hours service. They were able to schedule me for the same day and actually called/​showed up about a half hour early. Honest gents knew their stuff and my AC was up and running in no time. Thanks so much!

I lead a ministry in north central Phoenix. We recently purchased a quadplex in which two of the units will be immediately occupied by a staff members serving in the area of Sunnyslope.
The units were rentals since they were built in 2005. Our staffers have some sensitivities to smoke odor and it was fair in one and very, very bad in another. We initially called to have the ducts cleaned in the bottom two units.
After I told Kristi the units were operated without air filters for years she also recommended we have the A/​C coils inspected with the possibility of chemical cleaning.
Kristi scheduled them for the next day at 8am. The next day they were there… at 8am. Not 30 minutes early or an hour late. They were there when they said they were going to be! (I also understand a window of time is often needed).
We looked at the coils first. To say they were NASTY is an understatement. The smoke was literally CAKED on. These units were likely not running with any kind of efficiency.
I agreed to have these cleaned. It was going to be scheduled for later that day.
The air-​duct cleaning /​sanitizing went well and cleaned dirt and smoke.
We were in the processing of cleaning and painting the units and both technicians worked with us very well.
Start to finish this was an excellent experience.
The best proof is would we use them again. In July (or so) the two top units will vacate with current tenants and our ministry interns will be moving in… we will be calling On-​Time A/​C to do the work in those units as well.

We have a rental property in Litchfield Park and the tenants reported that the A/​C system was making a really loud metal-​clinking noise though the air was still working. Our property manager selected On Time Air based on Unilocal and that they seemed to service the west side.
They were quick to respond and got out to the property right away. Our tenants said that the technician was very nice and professional and took care of the repair in a very timely manner. (They contacted me to get the okay on the quote before proceeding but then took care of everything so quickly, which is important in the summer in Arizona! My husband, who used to work in the HVAC industry, knew what the approximate cost should be and the quote was right in line.)
We were in the process of getting the property ready for sale, and upon the inspection process, it was reported that the heater didn’t seem to work. It was so easy to call and coordinate with On Time Air to check out the system for us — this despite us being out-​of-​state and having the home ‘on the market’ — it was a simple fix and they took care of it at no charge to us!
I now have On Time Air bookmarked in case anything comes up in the future and have also referred them to more family members who live on the west side.

I am so happy with this service. No major repair thank goodness, but Patrick is really cool and personable, got here early and talked me through everything he did so I understood. Didn’t try to sell me anything useless either!
Honest & Dependable!

I have used On-​Time to replace A/​C units on rental properties and repairs to my own home system. The guys come out on time, of course, evaluate honestly, give an estimate, give you CHOICES and recommendations, don’t try to «hard sell», work professionally and efficiently, leave a system operating properly, and have never had to come back to fix their work. And the follow-​up and customer service from the staff at On Time has made us very happy. When we have a question, they care! They make sure you get what you paid for. I’m a Realtor and offer On Time as my top choice for A/​C service companies to my clients with confidence.

Jeremy is back to do a service call but on the new house I live in. The Tune-​up appointment was scheduled between Noon and 2pm and they called just before 11am to let me know they were on there way.

I was closing in a few days on a house and I was in California and needed a repair on the a/​c asap so I contacted On Time. They were fantastic, the customer service was wonderful. From the appointment to the technician constantly keeping me informed to the follow up call to let me know the a/​c was working and even the final cost was lower than I thought. I would easily recommend them!

The owner called me personally to apologize, which means a great deal to me as I value honesty and a desire to improve customer service. I regret that I was unable to work with the company as the owner seemed genuinely nice and willing to help, but was caught up in circumstances that could not be controlled (employee who didn’t answer the call phone at night, and the email message not getting relayed until morning when it normally goes immediately to a switchboard).
They should be called on THEIR time. Our thermostat died sometime between 11pm and 12am Friday night. I searched around the internet and saw that this company advertised ²⁴⁄₇ service and did not charge for night/​weekend trips. On their service page, they even state that if you need assistance in the next four hours to please call and not use the appointment generator. So I called at approximately 12:15, left a message on a voicemail identified as belonging to Jeremy, and began waiting. The house grew hotter. We moved ourselves to the coolest part of the house and tried to sleep on an air mattress to stay cool. I woke up at 3am, still having not heard back, so I left another message for Jeremy at 3:15. At this point I’m literally ill from the heat in the house, but exhaustion forces me back to sleep around 4:30, and I wake again at 6:30 to no call. So I start looking for anyone else. At 6:55, I actually get a call back from Jeremy. Six and a half HOURS after the original contact. I ask him why since they are ²⁴⁄₇. He said he was sleeping. Well, I’m so glad that Jeremy believes his sleep is more important than customer service and getting a new client. I know now why they don’t charge for the premium time frames; they do not come out during those times even when called. Please don’t advertise a service that you do not provide.

I came home today (mid July) and I noticed that the AC was on but the house wasnt cooling down. I called on time AC and heating and they came immediately. I was so pleased at how responsive they were. When the tech came out he was professional and very courteous. I would recommend them highly to anyone who need excellent service fast. You can’t go wrong with these guys!
