This is the kind of «Mexican food» that uses lots of yellow cheese, flour tortillas, and commercial«guacamole» where the first ingredient is not avocado. That’s not to say it’s inedible, but it is certainly not very authentic. If you’re starving after a day on the slopes, I suspect this will taste very good(hunger being the best seasoning). If it’s any other time, you’ll probably find this to be a lot like a Taco Johns, just with a Park City price tag. Ultimately, when you pair the generic food with a dirty restaurant(crushed chips absolutely littered the floor) and kind of impatient service, it’s probably not a place I’ll return to any time in the near future. Pros: –Convenient location, especially for skiers –Adequate portions –First basket of chips is free –Bar looked well-stocked Cons –Forgettable, Americanized food –Dirty floor –Service a bit grumpy and inattentive; no refills on drinks, never checked to see how food was –Menu had 5 kinds of Park City-themed quesadillas but very few healthy options –Bathroom is too small to be ADA accessible All things considered, this was more a 2 star experience, but because they were really busy(Memorial Day weekend) I’m being generous and going with 3 stars.

A number of years ago this used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant, but the last two times I came here I got sick, so it’s off the list permanently.

It is completely beyond me why you wouldn’t list your hours, or state on your website that you are closed until May 20th. Unprofessional.

This was probably one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. The service was worse than horrible, and the waitress never asked if we wanted anything to drink. She just grunted! The chips were stale and unsalted and the restaurant was not overly clean. Not a favorite.

This restaurant sits temptingly in the center of activity at the base of the Park City slopes. Of course mexican food sounds delish after a morning on the slopes. But, skiers beware. We entered the restaurant around 12:30 for lunch. After waiting 5 minutes for a hostess to greet and seat us, we waited another 5 – 10 minutes for menus and a request for drink orders. The restaurant was not crowded. Our server never gave more than a grunt or two and practically threw items on our table as she was rushing by.(I note another reviewer had similar comments about his/her server.). During our trip to Park City, we are thankful that she is the rudest person we encountered and an outlier in our experience here. Had to pass the open kitchen door on the way to the smelly restroom — dimly lit and grungy.

Horrible service, left after 12 – 15 minutes of being ignored. Staff were working hard, just not enough of them.

I don’t know that I’ve ever given this bad of a review. Waitress never made eye contact, basically grunted a few brief words and honestly she never actually«stopped» at our table. Dumped stuff off and walked away. Ordered 2 apps and 2 margs which came to $ 45. Didn’t bring plates(other than what the apps were served on). Never asked if we wanted another drink. Cadillac marg was bland and full of ice — all for $ 12. Santa Fe quesadilla was actually tasty as were the taquitos but with service like that it was SO not worth it. Even my husband who never complains about service said that was the worst wait person he’s ever had! Also carpet was filthy — chips, etc all over the floor and it was 3:00pm with very few customers.

This is a great location in the base of Park city Mountain but the food is not good. Recommended for margaritas and chips and Guac but that’s where it ends.

Normal mexican fare, OK margaritas. Been going for years on our annual trip to PC. Nothing outstanding but solid mexican food. Great service last night. If you want decent mexican food for a fair price within a short walk from the Bonanza lift either for lunch, apres ski drinks and snacks, or dinner(if you are staying close to base area).

I ordered chicken flautas and within an hour was deathly ill! Food poisoning! Do not eat here!

Pretty good food, but we were surprised to learn that they do not have any cheese dip, chicken quesadillas, or steak quesadilla. They do have other quesadillas, but not the standard ones we expected(we are visiting from Georgia) Also, they do not split checks for groups which is a pain.

The flautas are amazing! My husband got those and I got the steak fajita salad and we both LOVED what we ate. The service is okay but the food makes up for it

This is a quiet spot a bit further away from the lifts in the village. We came here for après-ski food and beer. We had the nachos with a great pork green chili. Very tasty after a long day on the slopes. The beer selection is fairly good. The only con is that it is a very, very subdued ambience. We were in the dining room and there was no music. I felt like I was in a library.

The night of World Cup Finals in mogul skiing, this was the only restaurant in town that would take our reservation for 10 — which later we upped to 12. The food is 3 stars, fairly standard — but our server Ale did an awesome job! Really hustled — never had to ask for refills of water, chips, salsa, etc. Most places mandate 18% tip with parties of 8 or more, but not here — left it to the customer, which is how I think it should be. Maybe next time I’ll try some coffee & desert — they had«postres» listed, but nobody tried them. Thanks Ale for great service — hope you get a raise or promotion

Great service here. 2 Star rating due to the food. I know I’m spoiled living in SoCal by real Mexican food, but this food here… it was just wrong. All wrong. I would say it tastes like Utah — Mexican food… bleh

We came here twice for dinner during our four day stay because it was right across from our condo. I had no problems with service and food was consistently delicious with very generous portions. The first day we came at 4pm and the restaurant was mostly empty. The second visit we came around 7 and there was a 30 minute wait. I had the t.j. Taxi and the Santa Fe chicken enchiladas– both times the shredded chicken inside had soaked up the sauce and wasn’t dry at all. Came with refried beans or Mexican salad and rice. For dessert, we tried the fried ice cream which was a giant ball of vanilla ice cream coated with a nutty crust and drenched in whipped cream and chocolate sauce. So good. Solid place to eat if you’re too tired after a long day on the slopes to brave the cold and take the bus to Main Street.

Used to get consistent, decent food here. It’s gone WAY downhill over the past few years. Yes, it was always«Mexican» in a Chi-Chi’s/Garcia’s vein but for a hearty meal after a long day on the slopes or biking in the summer, it hit the spot. Not so much anymore. Food was not hot. Seemed reheated rather than made fresh. Very bland. Chips were stale. Beer was fine, margaritas were blah. Service was lackluster. Shoulder season problems this time maybe but that’s no excuse. I’ll have to see some really stellar reviews to go back to this place despite its convenient location. There’s better food out there for the price and just as close to mountainside.

Great location. Right at the base of Park City makes it the perfect location for a drink after a long day of skiing. However, it was not amazing, I would rather go elsewhere for Mexican food but the convenience is nice for after going skiing or on the alpine slide in the summer. We didn’t order a lot of food, my friend said the taquitos were delicious. The guacamole was nothing special but the margaritas were good. The nice bartender was happy to make them any way we would like so we got them with strawberry in them which was delicious. We sat in the bar area because we didn’t want actual dinner but after looking into the dining area it looked pretty dark. Not ideal for eating but good if you’re trying to be romantic. It was nice for the convenience factor and they know that. I would definitely go elsewhere for dinner but it was fun to get a margarita there after going on the alpine slide!

THEYCHARGEFORCHIPSANDSALSA!!! Can you believe it? A Mexican restaurant that charges you for chips and salsa. You get one«complimentary» basket of chips and salsa and the subsequent baskets are $ 1.95. Oh well, moving on. The food was okay and very overpriced(my standard burrito was $ 15). My burrito was decent, the chicken was really bland and had no flavor, the rice and beans were good and saved the burrito. The guacamole was like a bland paste that had no flavor and looked like it came out of a can. The service was good and my wife’s chimichanga was good as well. All in all, Baja Cantina is just okay, nothing great but nothing terrible.

I hate to give anyone only 1 star but they earned this review. We had a company dinner with 5 large tables totaling about 50 people. They knew weeks ahead that we were coming but still failed to deliver any level of consistent quality service. Some tables were done eating when other tables were waiting for appetizers. Our server, when confronted only blamed us for not ordering fast enough and not getting any help from other staff. To make a bad meal worse the food was lame. Bland flavors that made everyone turndown the to-go boxes. The only thing this place has going for its self is the nice décor, patio seating and a great location. There are too many other over priced places in Park City to waste your money and time here!
