A great find! Let me start off by saying, this is not a quaint, sit down Mexican restaurant with frilly decorations and fake Americanized Mexican food. This is a typical eatery that you find in many locations in Mexico complete with all the atmosphere of a great taco cart or corner restaurant. Anaya’s Market is in what looks like an off white storage building on the corner of Munchkin Road and Bonanza Drive. South on Bonanza, right on Munchkin and immediately right into the alley/parking area. Enter in through the west door and you are immediately flooded with the sights, sounds and smells of old Mexico. It is like walking into a market in many small towns in Mexico with everything from dry goods to market fresh vegetables and meats, plus an ample sweet bread section. While you enjoy the music, the feel and the smells of this very Mexican market, make your way to the back of the store to the«café» where you will be treated to a wide variety of very Mexican dishes made right on the spot. Slow cooked beef, chicken and pork, asada and al pastor, as well as true Mexican specialties like lengua, cabeza, menudo, and more. All put together in very reasonably priced tacos, sopas, tortas, and such. Once you have picked your favorite entrée, step over to the salsa bar for pico de gallo, cabbage, radishes, salsa, onions, chilies and more. Stack it on and enjoy. It’s part of the price of the entrée. Who can’t love a $ 2 taco stuffed with the meat of your choice and piled high with garnishments and salsa? Eat at one of the tables there(there aren’t many;) or take it with you, but don’t forget an ice cold Mexican Coke or other Mexican favorite soda as well as other drinks of your choice. We will be returning to Anaya’s on our next trip to Park City. And we’ll be looking up their other locations in northern Utah, now that we know they are there!

It looks like you’d never want to eat here from the outside, but courage will pay off once your food arrives. Authentic Mexican tacos – so good

The local not-so-secret secret of Park City is that this is probably the grimmest restaurant town in the Mountain Time Zone, if not all of America. Especially when you take a step back and contemplate the lavishness of the average home in Park City, the lack of fresh, delicious, authentic food is stunning, frustrating, and dire. This is where Anaya’s comes in. It’s inexpensive, completely legit, super-tasty Mexican food. It’s in the back of Anaya’s grocery store and it’s an oasis of normalcy in what’s all too often a plastic town: Reasonable prices, real human beings. Pretty much everything is in Spanish, but there are basic translations on the menu and the employees have enough mastery of English to help gringos like me get by. It’s the best restaurant in Park City. If you want a sous chef and vertical presentation, then head down to Salt Lake and hit Pallet or the Copper Onion. Otherwise, Anaya’s is the ticket.

I love this place. The market itself has a wonderful bakery and offers a great selection of Mexican products as well as good-looking produce and meat. The taqueria in the back is phenomenal. Inexpensive, authentic, delicious.

I am a mexican-american. i love Mexican food. one day i went to get food for my friends and i. the food section was located in the very back corner i ordered 4 tacos de asada. 2 de al pastor, and one de carnitas. the places was set up like a school cafeteria assembly line. as he was ready to prepare my food he pulls out the tortillas out of a portable cooler(but they were warm). i then ordered a burrito de cachete and he puts a flour tortilla on the grill when it was done he placed it on a Styrofoam box where he placed a spoonful of rice and another one of beans along with the meat, he left mu tortilla open(me thinking that he left it like that for me to add either onions, cilantro or even hot sauce. i proceeded to another little stand where i found, salsas, cilantro, lemon, onion, cucumber. i didn’t see any little containers where i can take different type of salsas on the side just so i wouldn’t have to added them on the tacos and then they could get soggy, so i put the salsas and other stuff on top of the tacos and the burrito, then I’m waiting and the guy tells me after 10 minutes, «the bags are on the other side» i walk over and then i see the salsa containers to take home. i then get charged, the man never offered to fix my burrito. when i was there the place was half full with Mexican men that where looking at me like dogs as if they have never seen a woman in their lives. SOUNCOMFORTABLE!!! oh and just in case you were wondering the 2 employees that were working there never once smiled at me nor thanked me for coming in. BAD customer service!!! will never return. my burritos meat had no flavor and the while i was trying to eat nothing but fat was dripping from the burrito. coming from a Mexican this food sucks!!!

Pretty average food. Maybe because I’m from Texas. But if you’re in the area and want cheap mexican food this is the place to go.

Forget Chubascos, Red Iguana, or anywhere else you«think» has great mexican food. As a hispanic from Texas and SoCal… this place is amazing even by those standards. I call it ‘Secret Tacos’ because you would never know it was even there. This is THE Park City secret. You show up at this sketchy looking white warehouse with little to no signage, open the door, and you are in little mexico! Walk straight back and to the right and you’ll find a small taco shop in a mexican grocery store. Know a bit of spanish to order and be prepared to take your tacos home if it’s the lunch hour because there’s only 2 tables. Everything you get will be legit, home made and it’s all great and super cheap. My favorites are the chicken(it has a kick!) and barbacoa tacos. Hit the salsa bar after you pay, buy a mexican coke(with real cane suger!) and ENJOY. OR…go to Red Iguana… pay wayyy to much, and wait an hour :)

A little ghetto shop but some great tacos. Prices are cheap and tacos have lots of meat. Everyone should try it.

Anayas is a real deal Mexican market just off the beaten path in PC. Ive eaten there several times and have always enjoyed the meal. Everything from the Carnitas to the Barbacoa is tasty, however depending on the combination, may leave you with a roiling stomach. My recommendation is to go for the Beef Barbacoa Mulleta. Load it up with plenty of Pico and crema and you are golden.

Many Park City residents refer to El Chubasco as «the local’s secret.» They are dirty, dirty liars. But, there is good reason behind the dishonesty. An unspoken pact, perhaps. We are all working together to keep the dining diamond of cheap eats safe: Anaya’s Market. At Anaya’s, you can feed a small family for under $ 20(or a large one for just a bit more). During a recession, such a deal is rare. In Park City, it’s more like a far-off fairy tale come true. If you are willing to follow a set of simple instructions, you are in for a riquísimo treat: 1) Navigate down the aisles of shiny, imported grocery items from the deep South, 2) Wait in line at the counter(which is to your far right upon entering) 3) Be prepared to practice your everyday español. Please focus on food vocabulary.(Tacos, Burritos, Tortas, Sopes, Quesadillas, and MORE!) 4) Add toppings, as desired. What do I normally order? It’s all Mexican gravy, baby. With a delicious selection of handmade Mexican specialties and a pumped up dressing bar, so you can have it your way(eventually), your Mexican goodies can have more palettel pizzazz than Flavor Flav. Yeah, I just think his name makes things taste good. This is not a place for the ritzy, out-of-towners. Your fur will likely get caught on one of the shelves containing more varieties of beans than you ever paused to contemplate. But, I sure love going there.

Perfect for what it is a small out of the way Taco Shop. I have bought their seasoned meat and really enjoyed it as well.
