Art of Peace Massage

I’m certifying her as one of the best! :) She’s intuitive, friendly, warm, knows what she’s doing, clear, patient, and is definitely an expert in her field. She’s able to modify, she’s open, and has the ability to press really deep in a controlled manner (without slippage) if that’s what you need, her flow is smooth and relaxing. If you don’t talk, she’s right there with you. If you’re in a talkative mood, she can be too. I’ve seen her many times and I can’t wait to see her next week! :)

I have had massages from more than 30 therapists and I would say that Megan is among the top two. She has very strong hands and does deep tissue, sports massage, and integrative bodywork among other modalities. She is soft spoken yet direct and very professional in her manner.
Her massage room is within a sports rehab office in a Downtown Oakland business building and despite the outside construction noise, it is surprisingly zen. The added bonus: free parking in an adjacent bank lot.

I’ve seen Megan a number of times for massage and always leave happy. Megan is not only one of the ablest and knowledgeable therapists I’ve seen, she is also a student of her field, constantly improving and tweaking her practice and technique. I appreciate that Megan can pinpoint trouble spots and has the strength to apply deep tissue pressure to release the tension and scar tissue in troublesome muscles. She can really read the body with her hands. It’s impressive.

Amazing massage! Megan is really fantastic and I loved my massage.
Was a little tricky to book and I had a Groupon that was to expire in two weeks and there were no more night or weekend times available. Luckily I have a flexible schedule and could work something out.
So overall REALLY GREAT massage and totally worth it but plan ahead and be patient when it comes to booking. I also like what another reviewer said. .. I recommend setting up on online system for scheduling. I think that would really help this business. :)

Megan is the best. She’s a great massage therapist, has an amazing personality, and is extremely knowledgable. She’s always got a smile and takes the time to understand what’s going on with my body.
As an elite road and trail runner, I can say that she’s helped me stay healthy and run better. When I’ve had aches and pains, Megan works her magic, and I am out running pain free. She’s very strong and breaks up scar tissue like no other therapist that I’ve known. I had a huge knot in my left quad for months. After working on it for a few sessions, it was gone! My stride has never been more fluid and even!
Megan works really hard at what she does and it shows. It’s a small practice (her and another woman), but I can say it’s worth the wait of getting in. Her schedule fills up quick these days since I send everyone I know her way!

I purchased a Groupon from here. I am super picky with my massages! I asked for a lot of pressure and that is what I got — nice strong hands. Tiffany gave my massage — she will tailor you massage to exactly what you need. I loved it. I would not hesitate to go back. One of the best massages I have received in the Easy Bay for sure!

5 stars, one of the best massages I’ve had before! I had my massage with Tiffany out of their new Jefferson location. It’s a lovely new place (only a month old I think). Tiffany was incredible. She asked great questions ahead of time and really listened to my answers. Because of that, she was able to really hone in on all the parts of massage that I love (the deep tissue and digging into knots), and none of the «fluff». So excited that I have 2 more with her from my groupon deal, and I’m sure I’ll be one of the folks that continues on afterwards.
Two notes: I was in such bliss, that I walked after the massage and realized that I hadn’t even tipped her — oops! Don’t forget to tip your therapist even if it’s a Groupon. And two, the entrance was a little hard to find, b/​c even though the address is Jefferson street, the door is actually on 14^th street. So leave a few extra minutes to park and find it if it’s your first time.
Can’t wait for the next one!

Absolutely PHENOMENAL… as much as I’d love to keep her to myself I’ve already told everyone I can possibly think of. I too was a voucher recipient… and I’m hooked. In this day and age I think SOME of us have become too impatient, fallen victim to instant gratification and forgotten our compassion for others. If you’re looking for the Stepford Wives spa package, I’m sure Megan would do everything in her ability to make it happen… however, in a time and place of supporting the 99% and local business you can’t find a better therapist. Megan is warm, compassionate and listens to the needs of your body as she works. It’s one thing to memorize a technique, it’s another thing to perfect it as an art. Megan has the art of massage therapy down, without a doubt. I thank you Megan… and my body thanks you…

Although it was wasn’t the easiest to get to a hold of Megan, she was worth it. She was AMAZING! l wasn’t expecting such a cozy a setting for being in a chiropractic office. it wasn’t cold, it was comfortable and was so relaxing. l am soooo easy to bruise and consequently do not enjoy getting the knots in my back taken care of. She got them out pain free and l dont have one mark on my back. l was able to enjoy and relax getting the massage and didnt feel like l was in a pretentious spa where l was just next in line. l will definitely be going back.

I wish I could actually tell you what I didn’t like about my massage…
I obtained a voucher from Living Social and was excited to use this voucher for an hour massage during a break from an intense program I’m attending.
A week and a half prior to my break, I left 2 messages letting AOPM know who I was, what I would like and when & how to reach me. No follow up phone call. A week after my initial messages, I called again and did get a hold of Megan on the phone who told me she would call me right back to schedule a massage. Hmmmm… haven’t heard anything back.
I guess they have enough clientele. I cancelled my voucher. I’m not going to chase someone down so that I can relax. Seems counter-​productive.
Too bad. Very dissappointing.

Megan IS a master. I like it rough, I like it deep. I don’t go to massage for a fuzzy feel good feeling — I go to heal from 8+ hours each day of intensive computer work with not so good posture. Megan knows how to get in there and make things move again.
Oh, and about that fuzzy feel good feeling — you do… just after the fact.

So… let me just say that Megan is so wildly talented at her art that she practices, that there should be another name for the massage that she gives. It so transcends what others are doing out there.
She has a real knack for being able to read a person’s body and gets right in and works out knots that are so debilitating. Seriously. She is a master. I’ve had massages at swanky places around the country, and she is the real deal. They have nothing going compared to Megan. And she’s here and local!
If you want an amazing massage, this is the person to hire. Highly recommended.
