My mother lied practically naked on the table next to me waiting for someone to help her. I was already started on the massage but no one came in to give her the facial in the duration which I received my massage. She felt highly uncomfortable.
The guy who was massaging me had insane arm hairs that scratched my skin, while he was good. It’s not a good thing to scrape my skin.
The facial felt like crap.
What was supposed to be a 2 hour visit became a 4 hour visit while the parking structure across the street ate away at my money.
Lunch was literally a canned tuna mix on some greens. It looked more like a light snack than a lunch.

This was supposed to be a one hr massage and one hr facial. The whole thing took an hr and 15 mins. The lunch was actually a snack (a bite of chicken/​tuna looking thing served in something you see in a cat food commercial and some crackers). The facial was exactly like I do at home– very basic with VERY LITTLE pressure. The girl was acting as if she were afraid of touching skin– even during the scrub! This place will not last long…

This place is closed!
I went to use my Groupon today. I found the suite and the door was unlocked… but the lights were out, no one was there and the place looks abandoned.

DONT GO HERE. EVER. AND DON’T BUY LIVING SOCIALS.

If I could give negative stars, I would.
I could go into a long story about the hoops I had to jump through to schedule and be served – twice after going through the runaround to be scheduled, I showed up and they were «overbooked» and could not serve me. Once I showed up and there wasn’t anyone there. The owner had a million excuses, apologized profusely, and promised us the full service on a Saturday morning when she said she would be there herself. When we got there, we were told there was no esthetician and would have to come back for that portion or just take a 90 minute massage then, or book another 60minutes for later. Foolishly, my husband and I chose to come back for another massage later. It was THE WORST massage I have ever received. The guy-​DeAndre? massaged my arms and legs for 1 hour. Didn’t touch my back. I asked several times if we were running out of time and he said not to worry… then they fed us some canned tuna salad and club crackers.
I too tried to get a refund from Living Social for this as it took nearly a year from initial attempt to schedule the service to receive it, and now it is over a year and we still haven’t finished receiving services. I have no plan to attempt to redeem the other massage as the first was a colossal waste of my time.
I won’t ever buy a Living Social again. Groupon and Bloomspot have both refunded me without a problem before. Living Social sent me to the owner who basically refused to refund me.

For weeks I tried reaching Network Wellness by phone (voice mail box always full), email, etc. and never any response. And then finally… the phone numbers were flat out disconnected! The website had no information on new contact numbers or explanation.
Living Social has given me the run around the whole time, even though they acknowledge that they have had numerous complaints of Network Wellness customers trying to redeem this voucher. If this were Groupon, I would have gotten a refund from the get-​go, but Living Social’s customer support and business practices are a joke. I will never buy another voucher from Living Social and advise you to do the same, as well as warn your friends and family not to risk losing money with a poorly run company.
Living Social finally got a hold of the owner and gave me an unlisted number in the Central Valley, not Oakland! He said that they were under «new management» and could no longer provide the full Ultimate King and Queen for a Day Spa Package, only the massage portion. No facials, no hand and foot scrubs, no light meal. Mark apologized and offered a full refund… but said I have to get it through Living Social.
So, now I’m on my 7^th email to Living Social, demanding a refund, again. Living Social is damaging their own reputation for being credible. The money they could have just refunded is just a fraction of the damage that they are doing to their brand name for being untrustworthy.

Follow up: owner Andrea was very nice and offered to refund our parking and give us a massage on the house. Lesson: if you run into trouble, get Andrea. She’s great. The other staff, not so much.
DO NOT BUY! worst experience ever. They screwed up the scheduling process, then told us they would not be able to provide the services we purchased, and when i asked for the owner’s contact information, have me a phone number to a full voice mailbox. I had called three different numbers earlier in the day to confirm my appointment. None of them worked. When i told the worker that the number was not working, he told me that she was hospitalized and when i said well «I’m sorry that’s not really my problem» he threatened to call security. We are still in their lobby, the «hospitalized» owner is on her way allegedly, and it seems like they are just trying to get us to leave. Never buy groupons for massage places, never get your treatments at the network wellness spa.

As others have said – can’t even get through on the phone to schedule an appointment.
My friend gave me this Groupon as a gift, a way for us two to celebrate my birthday. What a fraud! The Q&A says there are Saturday appointments, so back on Jan 11 I went through their online appointment scheduler and found NO Saturday appointments available, all the way through their expiration date («extended!” – woo! – through July 3).
Phoned several times. No answer, ever. Just rang a million times and then went straight to the full mailbox.
Groupon should never have made a deal with this place. What a crock.

im in the same boat as francesca g in oakland. i have a groupon coupon for the king and queen package and when i called on saturday to make an appt i got a recorded message saying they were closed and that i could leave a message etc. i just figured i would call monday.
its monday and i called around 3:30pm and got a «you have reached a number that is disconnected or no longer in service. «i went to their website and called the office number. same disconnected message. so i came to Unilocal to see if anyone reported anything like theyve gone out of business or something and whoah look at all these similar experiences! yikes!
my friends boyfriend bought 3 of these groupons and gave one to us, im going to advise him to contact groupon for a refund!

How about a tale of the invisible massage? (And no, not in a romantic Ghost kind of way.)
It seems a bit redundant after reading multiple similar stories, but just to reinforce the unacceptable business practices from these folks, here we go: simply put, we made an appointment, and when we showed up, no one was there. Yes, you read that right, no one was there.
A doctor in the adjoining office gave us a piece of paper to leave a note, and we also left a voicemail. It’s been several weeks, and we still haven’t heard anything. My wife asked Groupon for a refund.

I have been to all kinds of spas, high end, low and mediocre. This was not great at all.
I do not want other couples to waste time on an expectation of a high end spa.
I purchased a LivingSocial voucher for the King & Queen package almost a year ago thinking this would be great for my boyfriend and I to have a Spa Day. I checked out the reviews first before purchasing and should have paid attention to them! Well I knew something was wrong when I couldn’t get an appointment until 6 months later! Why? Maybe they had high hopes for the remodel? So as the appointment came up, I called to confirm after reading Unilocal reviewers appointment nightmares, and I wasn’t in the system. She kept saying her Office Manager is on vacation, but she didn’t know I wrote down she made my appointment many months before. I was still on the fence to do this. But I figured this is a great package! Came on time for our early morning appointment from across the Bay– our masseuse was really late. First sign of many things to come.
In order of occurrence:
No water in the lobby dispenser, nor was it offered. Or refilled– it was there empty. WATER is a standard practice in any spa! No aqua? All spas have water!
There was advertisement in the lobby for «Paternal Testing Services» Are you serious? This should not be here! Yikes!
My boyfriend asked, «Is this a dental office?» (lighting is terrible)
Boyfriend was a bit weirded out a male was conducting his massage.
There was a spot of paint primer in the middle of the wall, I kept staring at it wanting to grab a paintbrush roller and finish the job!
Checked the products on the counter, they were from Dollar Tree.
Not sure if masseuse and person doing facial washed their hands before and after services. (I pay attention to these things!!)
When the person started the facial she didn’t even wash my face. She just applied a mask. Not extractions. There was steam, but I could have done this at home.
There was a jack hammer/​construction noise going off the entire massage/​facial.
There was no foot scrub, I had to say «Isn’t there suppose to be a foot scrub?» No brush– she came out with the scrub. No bueno.
The Owner asked if we were shown the restrooms before our appointment– nope.
Last but not least there were recycled envelopes for the facial person/​masseuse. I felt so bad about the whole experience I didn’t even know to tip or run.
There was NO chicken and salmon lunch which was suppose to be included in the Living Social voucher. Instead there was fruit. I even confirmed 3 times for the «lunch» and even went back to the office to make sure we just were mistaken. Nope. That wasn’t cool– the Manager Andrea confirmed over the phone, «Yup got you down for 1 salmon and 1 chicken.» There was only fruit, yogurt and a drink. Fruit wasn’t even fresh. Boyfriend said, «If they want to give an experience-​they have to deliver!»
I would write this… save yourself the grief and REFUND YOUR MONEY NOW!

This is yet another bad review for the network wellness spa where relaxation is far from key. I also bought into a Groupon deal for this business and have had the same experience as most other stories on this page. This is a horrible way to run a business. I will be contacting Groupon and showing them these reviews.

Apparently livingsocial will not give me a refund even though this place is currently giving them a black eye. I’ll continue trying to get this appointment set and if it’s done within a reasonable amount of time and they provide top notch service during the appointment I will adjust my review accordingly. I have called this place multiple times (the first being over a month ago) to schedule an appointment for a $ 66 package I purchased for my girlfriend and no one has called me back. I have contacted
for a full refund. According to
a lot of people are having similar issues.
I advise anyone that has purchased a similar package to request a refund before it’s too late. This is a lousy way to try and run a business.

Wow! What an experience! This place is the worst place ever. I bought a package from Livingsocial and finally after maybe 5 phones calls I was able to schedule an appointment for about a month away. On the same day of my appointment the office leaves me a message and says «they don’t have any massage therapist. Please call back to reschedule.» WHAT!!! Seriously?
After that I tried calling them back a few time and none of their phone numbers ever work. Left many many messages and no one ever calls you back. Called Livingsocial and got my refund. There is no one that cares at this office. There is no customer service at all. Would not recommend this place to anyone at all!

Before I begin reviewing this unprofessional business, let me advise against even THINKING about giving them a chance regardless of any deals you can find.
I first tried to contact the merchant roughly 5 months ago. They gave me an appointment for a date 3 months later. After patiently waiting 3 months, they called me the MORNING of the appointment, as I was making my way to the destination, to tell me they are cancelling my appointment. Keep in mind this call was made 50 minutes before the scheduled appointment. Obviously upset, they rescheduled me for another month later. When that day was approaching, the alleged «owner» of the business called me personally and said their therapist was not available for my appointment (this happened the night before my appointment). I was angry but willing to give them a third chance at redemption.
At this point, I questioned my own logic for giving them a third chance after two stressfully failed attempts.
The owner scheduled me for ANOTHER 2 weeks later. She GUARANTEED me there would be absolutely no problems for this particular appointment, because she was going to personally come in that day. She also offered to upgrade my package to something better to make up for my past two cancellations.
Guess what happens next in this fantastic story… she cancels on me the day before the appointment again. She proceeded to offer me a full refund by sending me a cashier’s check after taking down my information. Fast forward another 3 weeks from that day, and here I am without any form of a refund.
Three failed attempts at giving them business is enough for me. This spa package was supposed to be relaxing; just thinking about it and writing this review makes me want to punch a hole in the wall.
If you truly want to relax, going to work on a Sunday would have done a better job than this establishment.
Update: I left the «star rating» blank because I thought you could rate at zero stars. Apparently you can’t, so they’ll earn one extremely generous star from me.
PS. If you want someone to pick up their phone, you must call at least 12 times for them to answer one. Trust me on this precise fact; I kept count. Leaving your number allows them to… well… do nothing actually.

Bought the Living Social «King and Queen Package» for the boyfriend and I so we can have a relaxing date…
I booked an appointment 1.5 months ago for Monday 8÷6÷12 at 1pm… since that was the only day I am off work… It did took me several voice messages to have a call back to have our appointment booked.
Finally on the day of the appointment, I was all ready to go to this 1pm appointment on a Monday… I got a call that there was no therapist available and my appointment needs to be cancelled… and this appointment was cancelled two hours before our appointment… I then got a missed call and someone that left me a message… they were trying to get me rescheduled for the following Monday at the same time…
How unprofessional this Network Wellness Spa is!!! How do you just reschedule someone without saying sorry or checking with the customer to see if they are available before rescheduling? A message was left that if I cannot make the appointment, call to let them know! Sorry… I am not calling to let you know because you screwed so many people over!!!
I gave up… reported this to Living Social and got my credit back with deal bucks!!!

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME… READ THIS REVIEW AND SO MANY OTHERS POSTED BELOW WHO ENDURED THE SAME NIGHTMARE WE DID
My daughters purchased a spa package through Groupon for my fiancé’ and me for a fathers day gift. Shortly after receiving the gift, I tried calling the spa repeatedly over the course of a week to make an appointment, and each time left voice messages… no return calls.
Since I only live 20 minutes away, I drove to the spa address on Franklin Street early in the afternoon one business day to try to make the appointment in person. The door was locked, and no one answered as I knocked on the the door for 5 minutes. Went home and tried calling a different number we found. A woman answered claiming to be the owner and advised that they were having phone problems. She told me to try calling the main number again in a few days. We did so… still nothing. I called the owner back again and she said she couldn’t understand why there was no answer nor could she explain why their doors were closed when I visited their offices in person. She assured me that she would take care of the problem and asked us to go ahead and schedule a day/​time with her. She then advised that the next available spots were in 6 weeks! Although I was skeptical, I said OK and booked the day and time she suggested.
Fast forward 6 weeks to today. Our appointment was scheduled for 1 PM. Although I still didn’t think I should have needed to do so, I decided to call at 10 AM to reconfirm. Once again, I was connected to the «owner». She said, we don’t show you in our computer anywhere, and we already have an appointment booked for 1 PM with another couple, who booked theirs 2 months ago. I kept my cool and advised her how disappointing this was, especially after all the grief we went through to even get this appointment. She said their scheduling systems were down at the moment, but she was going to try to resolve this and asked if she could she call me back very shortly… I said yes, please do so. She then asked me what package we had, and I explained the Groupon deal, that it was for an hour, plus lunch, etc.
Approximately 2.5 hours later, now 12:30 PM, still no call back. So once again I called the spa and was connected again with the owner. I told her were were in our car driving there and asked why she hadn’t called back as she promised. She said «I was just about to call you, the moment you called me». She then proceeded to tell me that she couldn’t cancel the other 1 PM appointment because they booked their appointment 3 months ago, and they could not take us today at all. I asked «hmm…last time we talked you said they booked theirs 2 months ago, not 3 months ago? She became flustered and said I was giving her a hard time. I said I was simply repeating what she told me earlier. I then asked when could we reschedule again… she said maybe around mid October. She then had the gall to ask me again what package deal I had.
At this point I simply laughed and told her that we had had enough, and that we gave them 2 huge chances and they failed in every single aspect. I’ve never received such poor service from any company. I have great concerns whether they are still even in business and simply do this same thing to everyone who has a Groupon or other package deal, postponing appointments endlessly until people give up, just like I’ve done. My daughters are now working on getting our Groupon refund.
If you think my story is unusual or that this is a one time occurrence, I suggest you read post after post after post below where others have experienced the same exact thing. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME. TOO BAD Unilocal DOESN’T ALLOW ZERO STAR RATINGS.

I purchased the Living Social Deal for a King and Queen Spa day for myself and a friend. I scheduled our appointment for Memorial day. One hour before our scheduled time the Spa called to cancel. They said their masseuse hadn’t shown up and since it was a holiday they had no one else available. At this point I’d already taken the nearly two hour BART ride from Millbrae, so I was understandably upset. I told the receptionist that I was very upset since I had already blocked out my schedule and taken the long commute and that it would be difficult for me to reschedule since my friend and I generally have very different work schedules. At this point the receptionist said that they would comp me a free massage at a later date for my inconvenience.
When I went in for my comped massage, The space definitely felt more like an office building than a spa. The treatment room was a small with two massage tables crammed in. There was an open window which allowed in a lot of light and street noise. The massage itself was pretty good and the staff was nice. They offered me a glass of water with cucumber when I arrived, which was refreshing.
When I tried to reschedule my original King and Queen spa day, I met a whole new slew of problems. First I kept getting the answering service when I would call and my voice mails were never returned. Eventually I called and got an actual human on the line, but she said that they wouldn’t have a weekend appointment available until December (this being July.) At this point I said that if they couldn’t schedule me for 6 months to just forget it. I requested my money back from Living Social. I won’t buy a spa voucher again without first doing more research on the spa itself.

Had it not been for Groupon, I probably wouldn’t even consider this place.
Elaine and I booked their couple’s massage special which includes a facial, massage, foot scrub and a light lunch. Time expectancy of about 2 hours and 15 minutes, minus the eating time. Sounds like a relaxing afternoon, right? WE WISH!
We got to the location early but had a hard time finding parking, finding the place and getting buzzed in which made us a few minutes late to our appointment. It was a Saturday morning and I parked at the 1-​hour meters (yes, I was aware I would have to feed my meter). We get into the building and walked through the hallways of what seems to be an office building. WEIRD. The place is TINY! I think there’s probably just that one room where they do their massages. I inquired about their parking situation and they advised that they provide a service where one of their staff would actually go and add time to your meter. The way it works is that you have to purchase a parking pass from a machine and display it on your dash. I wasn’t comfortable handing my keys to the staff, so I decided to run down in between my facial and massage. SUCKS, I know.
The facial was horrible! It was just different types of lotion applied on my face and I wasn’t sure what was going on with the lip thing. Normally, after a facial, my face feels fresh and clean. This time, my face felt oily.
The massage was GREAT! This was the only part I enjoyed.
Foot scrub. What foot scrub? They omitted that from our package because it was time consuming when I had to go down to feed my meter. WHATTTTT? That sucks!
Lunch. it was a spring mix salad with some canned chicken or salmon on top with a glass of champagne. Bottled dressing was provided by Kraft and Wishbone.
They offered to give us the same deal if we mentioned it for next time. Next time? Yeah right.

A living social deal that was better than a $ 500 massage… Seems impossible but it happened to me today. Wow! We had an amazing time getting the massage, facial and hand foot scrub package. I was so impressed by the therapists talent… Robert is well heavenly. He is a man with the Magic touch my muscles need.
So even if you didn’t get the deal go to Robert. You will not regret it.
As for calling, I have had no issues getting a hold of them via the 510 number listed. They are located on the 4^th floor now but the receptionist will tell you that before you come.
Light snack salad after is yummy and moscato/​champagne. Great way to relax.

My BFF and I had appointment at 1pm. Unfortunately she was ran late and didn’t arrive until 1:30pm.
I saw another couple of ladies arrive shortly after I did, and the owner said they would take them first and serve us lunch once my friend arrived.
Well… she didn’t mention at all that they had accidently double-​booked us and that the wait would be in fact for 2 hours! If they had just mentioned that after my friend arrived, we could have gone out for goodies at Bakesale Betty’s. All they did was keep looking at us when they passed by and promised it would be soon. Think that happened a few times every 30 minutes.
Also, it is a very small place and they have 2 male massage therapists and just 1 treatment room. They are good. Mine was kind of awkwardly accomodating for prenatal massage, but was good. Facial was eh and so was the scrub.
The owner and staff were very friendly and nice, but as far as time was concerned, I just would have appreciated some candid information. Also, my parking ended up being $ 20! across the street vs what I had planned for.
2 stars, for niceness of staff, but no, I don’t plan on returning.
Also, FYI — I did mention to them the poor reviews they were getting on Unilocal 2′ non-​response and they said the overwhelming response has caused their computer and phone system to shut down. They sound like they are working on it.
