After 4 days with half of our AC system on strike and 3 fairly useless A/​C service providers, Kilter Mechanical has solved our issue. They are actually fixing it now. Previous providers either could not diagnose or repair it. Steve from Kilter Mechanical rocks! He was professional, interested in understanding my problem, clear in his intentions, and most importantly, FIXED THE PROBLEM! While other companies focused on what could not be done, Steve and Kilter focused on the solution. I highly recommend Kilter for your AC repair needs

Brett and his guys are beyond awesome and extremely honest. They always go over and above. For instance, the duct separated from my roof mounted a/​c unit. They were quick to respond and while in my attic to repair the duct, they realized my roof had several leaks. One of the guys came back and patched my roof at no charge. I cannot say enough good things about Kilter.

We just had our second home-​warranty related visit from Kilter Mechanical to remedy one of our aging heat pumps.
Having these guys show up is like having The Wolf show up in Pulp Fiction — that’s all you need to know! No matter what, they will do the right thing the right way and make sure you understand what’s best for you before they leave the premises.
When they say they are honest, I’m sure some are skeptical. I’m not related to them in any way, financial /​family /​otherwise. However I can tell you FOR SURE that they do a phenomenal job and earned my trust from the minute they got involved.

After 10 years of living with a 23-​year old sub-​standard, noisy HVAC furnace units that we were keeping together with spit and bailing wire, we decided to bite the bullet and replace both units.
Enter Brett and Steve, they figured out how to solve the builder’s poor architectural design by lining the air handler closet with sound dampening insulation, fixed problems with our duct work and installed a new intake vent in our master bedroom to solve an air flow problem. Brett was also able to give me the best price on a variable speed Lennox 5 ton HVAC system with 20 seer rating and a 4 ton 2-​stage Trane system. And believe me, I did my due diligence by interviewing 4 companies.
But I was most impressed by Brett’s professionalism, patience and work ethic. Brett wouldn’t sell me something that was not the best solution, wouldn’t promise a result that he couldn’t verify, wouldn’t show impatience with a client that constantly changed their mind, and didn’t leave for the day without cleaning the workspace and complete the job for the day (working 12 hour days on 2 of the 3 days he did the install).
I am happy to recommend Brett Monik and Kilter Mechanical to anyone who is looking for a great, honest HVAC designer, worker and sales person. If you have to have a HVAC repairs or need to install a new system, then you can’t go wrong hiring Kilter Mechanical.

Steve just completed a thorough check and clean of the HVAC system at our condo. On-​time arrival (actually came out the same day!), evaluated and cleaned my system, all for a very reasonable rate. Brett fixed my heat pump quickly and for a good price. He even fixed a few connections that the installer had left in a dangerous condition. He gave me a clear and detailed quote before doing the repair. I highly recommend.

Brett is honest, reliable, and proficient as well as being nice and genuine.
I called Kilter for a heating issue (basically system kicked on but not hot air when it was 36degrees last night). Brett answered at a little after 8a and I briefly explained the issue and hoped that he could make it out today. He said he could come out today and likely b/​t 11−1130a. I said great. At about 1030a Brett gave me a courtesy call to let me know that he was on his way and would be on-​time. At about 1055a — he arrived — pleasant surprise!
He identified the issue, fixed it, and then provided me an update on what was wrong, as well as giving me a high-​level assessment of the unit. I was fortunate that it wasn’t anything major. He was at my house for less than an hour.
Brett’s rate was very reasonable.

It was a lucky day when Brett of Kilter Mechanical arrived to work on my AC unit.
The AC had never worked wonderfully. It was okay and we staggered on. In June 2015 it quit working. Two separate companies checked it over, replaced a part or two, checked the output temperature before they left, then informed me everything was good. Hurrah!
Except by late afternoon the AC didn’t seem to be working at all.
Here’s how Brett of Kilter Mechanical was different. He is an engineer. He noticed that there was a gap that let in hot air, that there were grease stains in a certain area which probably meant that there was a leak in that area, that someone had installed a new motor which was already running over capacity, meaning that it would probably break down sooner, and that what we’d assumed was a one stage AC motor had wires running out of the back.
Early on he said to me, «I was thinking about your AC problems last night and I think that there is something else going on.»
That is the first time, living in Arizona for more than thirty years, that anyone has said that they’d been thinking over my AC problems in their free time at night!
That’s when I realized I was working with someone completely different than the usual AC repairman.
Brett arrived at my house on time, on the days he said he’d be there.
We were twenty four hours away, the home warranty company and me, from changing out the old AC unit for a new unit. Nobody could figure out why the AC unit was not cooling properly. Then Brett called, «I think it’s a two stage engine not a one stage engine. That’s why it’s not working as it should. And, I’m sure you need the right platform to get your system working and then everything should be okay! Next, Brett replaced the wrong thermostat unit with the correct one. Now my house is happy and cool and comfortable!
Hey! Brett worked it all out! I’d be happy to call on him anytime. Actually, I think I’ d like to call him first the next time the AC or the heater quit working properly.

Our A/​C died over the weekend. Thankfully we had a home warranty company (Old Republic) that helped out, but the initial contractor never responded over the weekend, so I requested a new one and ended up with Kilter. I’d never heard of them before so was a bit leery, but had my concerns eased a bit when I saw the other positive reviews here on Unilocal.Steve, the general manager, was at my place (96 degrees inside!) within 4 hours of calling Kilter on a hot, probably very busy Arizona summer day. I have a 21-​year-​old system, and Steve got it working again promptly. Unlike most companies I’ve used, he never tried to sell me on anything. Just prompt, courteous service. He also stood out by not telling me how much my 21-​year-​old system ought to be replaced. In fact, he suggested I wait for 1 – 2 more years until there is hopefully some newer technology hitting the market that will be more efficient and cost effective. Very positive experience.

I have had several AC companies come out to my home via my home warranty. However, none of them compare to Kilter & specifically Steve the general manager. He not only called me within an hour of my request but it was on a SUNDAY! Also, we needed a certain part so our AC would work again and he drove all over the Valley to find it and came out that day to install it. I will never use another AC company again. Steve & Kilter have my business for life.

I can’t say enough about the tremendous customer service that Brett and Steve have provided. They answered our desperate call for help as our AC unit went out on July 1^st — height of heat and in dire need to keep house and family cool. They came out late/​after hours to assess the need and were able to keep the unit running for a few days until they could get back out with a new AC unit. They knocked it out in a few hours and reworked/​fixed original installation issues in the attic.
They did this all at a very fair price and with exceptional service. We cannot say enough about the fantastic workmanship, service, the timely answer in our moment of need and the excellent price to keep our family cool and running this summer!

My home warranty company found Brett after the previous technicians failed to get there and I’m really glad that happened. Not only was he able to diagnose it and figure out how to repair it, this guy was responsive. How many times do you call service people who either don’t answer their phone or never call you back? Brett is actually very attentive and a hard worker to boot. After the first repair fixed the issue, an hour later a second part broke. My renters called him right back, he came back after hours, figured out this issue and got everything going within a day again. My renters were super happy with him and he was great when I talked to him. I will call this man when any AC issues arise for me at my house or my rental in the future.

OuR AC died on us In the middle of the night and we placed a desperate call that morning because we have a 1 year old and small pets. Brad showed up that same day at 7pm on a 112 day and got us up and running in 45 min.

Brett got the AC up and running in the house we purchased in 2014 in one visit for a minimal charge as opposed to the other company we were working with that kept coming and trying things and charging us over and over and not fixing the problem. The last time we had «the other guys» come out they said it would be at least another $ 1k and no guarantee that it would be fixed. Brett fixed it immediately and got us through a very hot summer for a minimal charge.
When summer was over and we needed to replace the original unit Brett took the time to research the best, most economical and efficient unit for our needs and then designed a zoning system that would heat/​cool our entire home very efficiently using only one A/​C unit as opposed to the two that we originally had.
We would highly recommend Kilter Mechanical and Brett for all your heating and cooling needs.
Brett was here today just to do a follow up and see that the system was working properly. It is working perfect and we couldn’t be happier with the unit or the service that we receive from this company.
