We had 2 fans installed in our new home. I know it’s a small job, but when I called Dan, he was able to come out the next day and was able to finish installing them in less than an hour.
Not only was he quick, but he gave me a call to let me know he was running 20 minutes late and ended up getting over earlier than that.
He was professional, packed up the boxes the fans came in and brought them and the original lights downstairs. He left no mess behind at all.
I would highly recommend Dan and won’t hesitate to call again!

You bid the job and you were paid in full. It is not our problem that you claim you needed «more material.» It appears as though you did us some favor, but you did not. We have 16 texts to you on our phone trying to get you back over here to stain and finish the job. We also told you that the new wood was cracking. You claimed you would seal the cracks and get it stained to avoid further problems. But, you never did. Many of our texts were ignored and not returned with a scheduled date… We did agree to pay you more. You decided the price not us. You set a price and then be-​grudgingly do not want to honor it. You are unreliable, dishonest and have bad business ethics. Without customers you would not have a job!

Dan completed several projects for us, we are VERY pleased with his work and his attention to detail. He was very quick to respond to my phone call and was able to come out quickly. He did an AMAZING job and we will be calling him for future projects! Can’t imagine that you would find a more professional handyman, and his prices are extremely reasonable!

Dan did an awesome job repairing an external doorframe. I was not sure what to do with my buckled frame and he suggested a few options. We’ve decided on the approach and he went forward with repairs. The result was amazing, the frame was like new. Will absolutely hire Dan again.

My deck was in need of serious repair and I was putting my home on the market in a few days. I called and spoke with Dan about my issue and he promptly came out to the house and gave me a quote. After two days it looks great– Dan did a great job and was very professional.

Dan completed two projects at my home, and I am very pleased with his work. On one project he installed a set of 4 wireless security cameras. The worked involved installing the cameras, connecting them to electrical power sources, and installing a motion detector light. The installation was done flawlessly and efficiently.
The other project was installing two ceiling fans on my deck. The work was done professionally and efficiently. The cost for the projects was reasonable, and reflected what was quoted. I would not hesitant to use Dan’s services again.

Dan advertises himself as honest and reliable. And it’s not just marketing. He actually is very professional, reliable, hard-​working, and super knowledgeable about home maintenance in general. I have a rental property that was trashed by a tenant. He came by and did a walk-​through with me writing down a «to do» list. The main thing on that list was a garage and shed filled to the brim with junk the tenants left behind. I was worried that would take endless trips to the dump. But he saved me money by suggesting a large dumpster and cleared everything in just a couple of hours. He works fast but without leaving things poorly finished, as some of my past handy men have done. Since I’m new to owning rental property, I also really appreciated his tips for solving certain problems. I cannot say enough nice things about him. I hope he will continue to help me in the future.

Very good service! He repaired our fence and did it in a timely manner. He contacted me promptly when I inquired about his services. He’s a straight shooter.

Dan is awesome! He returned my call right away, and I asked him to install a new rural mailbox and post. He gave me a very reasonable price over the phone, and came out the very next morning! Dan brought everything needed to install it, including the concrete. The ground is very rocky, but he dug the hole with no problem! He did an excellent job, and the new mailbox looks perfect. My husband was very impressed with his work. Dan is very skillful, professional, and a super nice guy! I highly recommend Dan, and will certainly be calling him again!

Dan did an excellent job restoring our outside play structure. He power-​washed it, sanded it down, removed stones on the ground and replaced them with play bark. Most importantly, he constantly ensured the safety of the play structure, from being sanded down to the extra layers of play bark he put in. Throughout the whole process he was punctual, polite, and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommended.

Dan is a professional, with his work ethic, style, pricing and reliability. He came to fix a few toilets in our house and provided expert insight into making sure toilets don’t leak. Totally trust him and so glad to have found him!

I was a bit wary of choosing a handyman, since I’ve had many bad handyman experiences in the past. However, I had a leaky kitchen faucet that was getting worse as the days passed and needed to be replaced. After reading a few reviews, I decided to call Handyman Dan and give his service a try. I called on a Friday after 5:30pm and left a voice mail. I was afraid that I would not hear back until perhaps the next day or even until Monday. However, I was pleasantly surprised to get a return call within 15 minutes. I read other reviews stating that he has not returned calls back, but that was not my experience. I set-​up the appt for Monday morning. Even though I was going to be at work, someone else was going to be at home. The report that I received back was that he was punctual, courteous, quick, and very professional in his work. I also appreciated that Dan sent me a confirmation text letting me know that the work has been completed. I would definitely use his services again for other projects around the house that come up, and I also recommend his service.

Dan was professional, prompt and knowledgable. He replaced light fixtures and did some caulk work in our kitchen. Very efficient. He also was accommodating enough to come at 7am. Highly recommend!

Called Dan yesterday and he arrived right on time this morning. He cleaned our dryer vents, gutters and even installed an organizer for the garage for me. He is professional, conscientious and extremely helpful! I highly recommend him and will definitely call him for many more home projects!

I’m beyond pleased with Handyman Dan! He came on one day’s notice to hang some items at my house, assemble some furniture and move items to my basement. He was extremely fast! And super nice and professional. I’ve used a lot of handyman a in the past and I’m thrilled to have found Dan. I’ll definitely be using him again. He showed up on time, completed my list without having to be reminded of what to do, and the work quality is excellent. 5+ stars for Dan!

Still no call back or e-​mail reply from Handyman Dan. I’ve just left another voice mail for him asking for a call back at his earliest convenience. I’ve been trying to get a call back from him since 7÷06÷2015, have sent three e-​mails to two different e-​mail addresses (it seems that the one on his website is wrong and he hasn’t had sense enough to correct that), etc.
I’m finding it very difficult to believe the good reviews from Unilocalers who have only written a few reviews (too many companies /​people try to game the system here at Unilocal).

Dan came in to install closet doors. He got back to me right away when I initially contacted him, gave me a good price quote, did everything he said he would and more, was always on time and did great work. He will be my go to handyman going forward

I’ve gotta tell you that Dan Phillips was amazing! Our old and leaking kitchen faucet finally died and I needed to replace it immediately. I read the reviews here on Unilocal and decided to contact Dan, asking for a quote. His quote was extremely reasonable and competitive and he was able to schedule an appointment with me within a couple days. He arrived right on time and had it all done within 30 minutes. He even cleaned all the calcium deposits off the granite countertop which had accumulated from the old leaking faucet and hauled all the old parts away; he is truly a professional. I am so pleased with his work that I had to comment here and will DEFINITELY contact him for all our handyman needs!

Dan is the real deal. I’ve used him on four occasions now, and he’s absolutely the first one I’ll call to tackle any handyman project. He’s very smart, courteous, punctual, a hard worker and fairly priced. It’s also really helpful that he’s a native English speaker so there are no problems in communicating exactly what you need to have done. Dan always returns emails and phone calls, just not while he’s working — a plus in my book because (besides being polite to the homeowner) he really wants to plow through the punch list. The man doesn’t even take a lunch break!
The jobs he’s done for me: assembled four small storage sheds in record time (under two hours), relocated a sandbox, installed two Elfa systems, switched out all the outlet receptacles in the house (about 25 of them), and replaced all the rotting wood spacers separating the original concrete slabs in our backyard, plus small miscellaneous tasks around the house — a closet rod here, new cabinet latches there.
You won’t regret calling him for your handyman jobs. Super competent and an upstanding guy. What more could you ask for?

I was impressed by Dan. I emailed him with a photo of a problem I had and instead of charging me to fix it, he provided instructions on how I could try to do it myself and save the money. I’m definitely going to try that route but if I fail, I know who I’m going to call.

He does not return calls!

Dan installed a pet door in a wall for me. I had several other VERY expensive bids, but Dan’s bid was extremely reasonable. He was very helpful, polite and prompt. I plan to use him again to install some ceiling fans. You can’t go wrong with Dan the Handyman.

I sort of hesitate to leave my review rating here about Dan, because the more the reviews, the better the ratings, the busier he will be, then he has less time slots to help me later.
I am very glad that I gained a confidence to rely on him when I have home repair tasks to do. As a home owner, I tend to like to cover by myself what I can handle — but only with limitation.
I had a few leaky faucets at a kitchen sink and bathrooms. From the past experiences, this is something I and my toolbox cannot handle.
He investigated was able to evaluate the issues like a pro, and he knew what to do immediately. When he tripped to a local hardware store, he took right amount of time and explanation in describing me the options I have — which I felt that he gave rightful respect and control to his customer.
The project I asked him turned out to be taking longer than expected (all 3 hours), because one of the faucet refused to come out due to its internal rust. But Dan took time right, and completed the task without a failure.
He maintained professional and kind attitude with full of respects to his customer. He took cautions and cares not to disturb any privacy.

Dan’s work is beyond the maximum 5 stars! We recently bought a house with zillions of things to be installed and replaced. Dan came on several occasions and performed the following projects for us in a super efficient and super professional manner with super high quality:
(1) Installation of a microwave over the range: Dan removed the old range hood, which was hard-​wired into the system, installed a new power outlet, and put up the new microwave over the range. He completed all these in about an hour.
(2) Installation of a pivoting frameless shower door: also done in a very timely manner
(3) Replacing power outlet, light switches, and switch panels
(4) Installing window treatments, including 6 roman shades, 4 sets of double curtain rods, and three curtain rods that need to hang 20 feet high. Working at a high altitude has been a problem for many contractors – they either do not have a ladder that’s tall enough or they just do not have the nerve or muscle to climb that high to perform. Most of our neighbors with the same floor plan did not have any window treatment for the higher windows because of this. Not a problem for Dan! He brought his extra-​tall ladder and finished the extremely challenging project perfectly. And he did not charge extra fees for working at high altitude. I could not appreciate his work more.
I will definitely continue to use Dan’s service and will for sure recommend him to everyone.

It’s hard to trust what you read on the internet sometime but the 5 stars here has been witnessed in person.

— This might be a Pro? Responds to emails after hours, meaning he won’t be interrupted on the job. And emails are good, your communication is documented.

Dan the handyman can! He is very professional and efficient. His prices are very competitive and I would most definitely recommend his services.

Dan is Awesome. He was nice and very helpful. As he worked on my requested items, he took the time to explain my random questions as well. He completed the following jobs for me in about an hour to two:
*Fixed loose faucet
*Fixed kitchen counter tiles
*Rescreened my patio door
*Changed out my smoke alarm to a dual smoke/​carbon alarm
*Removed my water hose for our washer (it was hard to remove)
He quoted very fair that I added an extra $ 10 to the quote just because. We will be using him for sure in the future to help maintain our rental home and our current home.
Dans the man… If he cant do it… NO ONE can! (well really other people might be able to do it, but i just wanted to say that)
