Your Professional Handyman specializes in providing home owners with minor repairs and upgrades to their homes. Examples are cleaning services, installing new fixtures, make readies, home repairs, small engine repairs, and other services.

History

Established in 2012.

We started this business unofficially in 2004 and was only providing services for close friends and family. Not until 2012 did we decide to go public and create a DBA through the state. Our business was not advertised except through referrals by those we worked for. One of those referrals made it’s way to a Realtor that worked for a rental management company and after that we became very busy and the need to have a business model and insurance was very important.

Business Owner

My training started when I was about 6 yrs old working with my dad in our shop rebuilding 1960’s Volkswagen vehicles. I learned the in’s and out’s of engine repairs. Later I learned the in’s and out’s of building a house when we built my parents home where the only contractor that was used was to put on the shingle for the roof. I learned all about plumbing, electrical, and framing. My training and experience continued when I went to work for Home Depot. There I learned code about electrical and plumbing. Appliance installs and data wiring and setups. In high school I was the top of my class in small engine repair and continue to excel in that field today with my own repair service. I have well over 20 years plus in most things dealing with repairs to the home and small power equipment. My training in fire arms started with my dad when I was young and continues today through the military. I have been teaching the Texas CHL program now for about 3 years.
