Lots of English songs too. My cousin is here from San Francisco and we are glad we drove to Waikiki to sing Karaōke. Great service.

The perfect mix between Chinese and English songs at this karaōke place. My(very) large family and I came here for my birthday and the owner and staff were super friendly and helpful. As soon as we entered, we were greeted and immediately offered to take the cake to the fridge and showed us to a large room. The place is done so classy and nice — so much better than other karaōke spots I’ve been to. The drinks are seriously the bomb. The food, oh my gosh, don’t get me started on the food. I would recommend the fried shrimps and wings. They’re perfect with some drinks. Although they didn’t have and sam smith songs(I tried to find a couple but to no avail) they had a lot of taylor swift songs(which are just as nice) and old chinese songs that my family could sing while the younger generation ate. We went on a Monday night during happy hour and other than two people at the bar, we were the only one at the karaōke place. So if you like some privacy, try go on Monday-Thursday!

Place has a great big open lounge that is totally empty on a Sunday evening afternoon. Three of us rolled into this place ready to rock out. The guy behind the bar was super helpful in getting us some mics and getting us some jams to strut our stuff to. I might have sung a couple more T. Swift songs than I’d like to admit but I was pretty sure I was dancing around the cushion-y chairs just like that blonde bimbo. The drinks were good enough to keep us at the right level to keep singing. I don’t know if we even had to pay anything to sing in there. I think only one other couple ever came in while we were there. We were a mess I’m sure and the guy there was patient and awesome. Honestly the best karaōke experience I’ve had and I’ve done it more than a couple times. Totally go here or I’ll punch you.

Karaōke prices aren’t bad, but food prices are, and they require each person order $ 6 worth minimum(which we didn’t know until we arrived.) Served us gyoza($ 8 gyoza) that was bright pink inside– on the weekend before our group had to return to school. Upon notifying the waiter, he said he cancelled the order but we still had not reached the minimum charge of $ 6/person, and we had to order another smoothie. We talked to the manager, who gave us a refund(a whopping $ 5) and just said«Sorry about that — but you know, it happens sometimes.» This establishment is apathetic and apparently doesn’t know what customer service is. Stomach viruses and food poisoning don’t «just happen.»

DONOT come here. There weren’t very many song selections in English, although there seemed to be quite a bit in Mandarin and Canto if that’s your thing. My group ordered gyoza, and as Gordon Ramsay would say, IT’S RAW. The one I picked up wasn’t even slightly cooked! The guy working did not seem to think of it as a big deal and made us order something else just to meet the minimum per person. We talked to the manager in the end, who did compensate us, but didn’t even compensate us the full amount of the dish! Other reviews might mention the food, but I would recommend having very very low expectations or just not eating here at all. The happy hour price seems good, but I would never go here any other time. Please go somewhere else for karaōke.

Not sure why I never rated this place, despite it being responsible for some of the bestest of times of my life… I was a displaced young Marine, trying to make my way through the big scary world of academia, and shuffling through deployments like I was cool, but school, and combat, well they take a certain toll on you. So I started drinking. Milk tea. That shit was phat. Tasted like honey, I tell you, it was like smack, fueling my voice to unheard heights, despite the fact it also made me diabetic. But anyways, this is the place where I learned to drink, learned to love, and learned that, that… friendship is an investment in honesty, and honestly, I can’t wait to be back. And finally, Kaima~aina. Means famiry.

I am a fan of karaōke and this place is ok because of the food. They have pretty variety of food and it pretty tasty. One of their dishes that I really like and have been looking for is the snail type dish, they called it in different name on the menu and I forgot. The Karaōke list doesn’t have many new songs updated. Also their karaōke system of how you input the songs is really inconvenient. There is a computer in the corner(if you have the room) for you to input the song and it take times for each of the guests to come up and add in the song. The song book is not really useful because some of the songs code cannot be found in the system.

This was a fun place. Would’ve been more fun with a group or a larger crowd in attendance. The clientele appears to be mainly asian, but they were welcoming to a gwilo as well. Nice people, they helped me right away to find the book with the English songs. One hilarious aspect was the song listing, paging through I noticed all the songs had only one word in the title. I joked to my DW that I would soon find the section with two word song titles. Sure enough, when I reached the Z’s for the 1 word titles, it started back at A with two word titles, then three word titles, and so on! I ordered a bottle of beer, and I got a cold beer and a clean, chilled glass. Odd thing was, I got a 12oz beer and a 5oz glass. Ah well, no biggie. Songs are $ 1 a piece in the main room. Beers were reasonable.

Never been to a place with Chinese songs before. Well I don’t read Chinese so that makes it a bit harder to sing them. But my friends do. Well I do eat and drink and Spots has both food and drinks. I really did enjoy their pupus except that pig intestine. My friends told me it was pig’s ear. Welcome to Bizarre foods. Unfortunately it was intestines and I also found out I am not fond of the burnt metal smell that is associated with intestines. =D

I have been to the spot a few times and I really like it. I won’t go into the options as many have already, but I will say that singing out in the main room is much more fun than a private room, in my opinion. On the night I went, my table sang a song, and then the table across the room requested the same song. A little rivalry ensued and we were dueling before too long. That kind of situation is not one you’d normally encounter in a karaōke bar, and it was a lot of fun. The owner is very nice and was nice enough to accomodate our request of long islands as our free drink(private room), even though he didn’t have to. Yes, they were not very strong — but it’s hard to complain about a free drink and $ 12 for 4 hours of karaōke! If you just want to chill with your friends, I recommend the room. If you like to meet people and show your stuff/watch others, sing out in the main room.

I’ve been here enough times and I have to say, I’ve had a great time every time. Pros: This is a great place, especially for those of you who really like singing Chinese songs. They are highly updated with new Chinese Music. The place is always clean and tidy, nice plasma tv, and there’s a great open bar. The prices are pretty reasonable for drinks, priced about the same as GS studios, although GS may give a bit more alcohol, however the drinks at the Spot taste better though. Also, they try to use music videos as much as possible with their song selections. A very user-friendly systems options. Cons: The music selection process is actually quite a pain. Initially, it’s pretty cool because you get to choose directly from the computer screen. However, everyone has to go up one by one and everybody has to sit around and wait. This kind of sucks the fun out of karaōke. The person choosing songs feels rushed as well to input songs. Also, the English and Japanese songs aren’t as updated. However, they do have select recent songs. In other words, really good for those of you into the oldies. Happy Hour: They raised the price on happy hour. It’s now $ 12 from 5PM — 9PM plus one free drink, both alcoholic(varies) and non-alcoholic. Overall, a great deal. I would recommend coming here. Cheap deal and a great place to hang out with friends. I would definitely come back and chill again. The staff is super friendly as well, constantly coming by the check on us.

i’m not a huge fan of karaōke. I don’t sing, but I’ll go and have fun with my friends every now and then. Came here for the first time. Parking is $ 1 with validation!!! very cheap for waikiki. It’s located in the Discovery Bay where McDonalds is The rooms are big so it’ll fit a good amount of people. From what I know, its’ free room if you can hit $ 240(somewhere around there) in food and drinks. Our party WAYYYY surpassed that amount Service here was excellent. Chinese run place. The owner was VERYVERY nice. Food: their fried items were really really good. perfectly seasoned. the steak was a little pricy at $ 12 for just the steak(no rice or sides or anything but seasoned well) I didn’t care for any of the soup dishes they had. the beef noodle soup was way too sweet in a not so good way(but that was just me. my friends liked it) I also had the wonton soup in which the soup just lacked any real flavor. the wonton’s were ok but it was just the soup that i didn’t care for. it’s $ 8.50 for a small bowl or i guess a medium bowl but not exactly worth it. stick to the appetizers and make sure to eat ahead of time b/c the prices a little high.

i’ve been here a few times, and i have to say, its good stuff. they have a large selection of chinese karaōke songs to sing, but if you don’t speak it, they have english too. there is an open bar area, where you can sing in front of strangers, OR there are several rooms in the back area for private parties. the main draw(and fun) is playing«Die wah sic» here! if you’re not familiar with the game, it is also called«liars dice». … still don’t know? its the dice game the pirates were playing in Pirates of the Caribbean… still don’t know? omg, just look it up already. if you DO know the game, just ask the bartender for the cups and dice, and play to your hearts content! the soda is a little pricey for what you get($ 2.50 for a small cup), but the GREAT thing is, if you happen to need additional validation(if you’re staying more than 4 hours), they will validate! it is $ 1 per every 4 hours. i’ve never had the food, but hopefully the next time i’m here, i’ll get to try.

Came here mainly for their food. We had a couple orders of their fish balls and dried squid. It may not be your thing, but I crave it: p Their mixed drinks are very weak. generally I would’ve been kind of disappointed by it BUT I found my favorite mixed drink that night –Li hing mui! I didn’t really care much for the venue, nothing special. The lounge area can get REALLY loud.

Came here with some friends to sing karaōke. Ended up singing in the lounge area, since rooms were a bit pricey during non-happy hours. Some things to know… Drinks are somewhat weak. They do measure the amount of alcohol poured into the drinks, which I guess would be nice if you don’t drink so much. The cocktail drinks aren’t too bad(again, if you’re not much of a drinker, all of their drinks is like drinking juice). But they do fill it up with ice before pouring anything in. So there’s a good reason to «pre-game» if anything. The songs being sung in the lounge rotates from table to table. At least 2 songs per table. Which is a good thing since it gets a chance for everyone to sing equally. I think its about $ 1 per song, which isn’t too bad and you can cancel your list if you decide to leave early. Oh! And each party gets two mics. The service is friendly. Especially Phil, slightly old Chinese man who I think is funny with a positive friendly attitude. Hes not the greatest bartender, but I can see he works really hard and he has regular customers who knows him well. They have an extensive selection of Chinese songs in Mandarin and Cantonese, but I wouldn’t mind singing to, but I don’t know how to read Chinese(I know, its a shame, but I’m learning! At least I can speak it…). They do have English songs in a separate book, which can be hard to find certain songs since its not in any type of order(Its alphabetize by Artist, but I think they do update every once in a while because sometimes you would flip through the pages and you end up starting the alphabet again). There are a lot of oldies songs(which btw, we were with a crowd of 40s-50s so when it was their turn to sing, I felt a little generation gap. just a little). Overall, I did like the atmosphere, but I guess it depends on which nights you go to. But definitely should go during happy hours times. It seems like the best deal so far.

Pros + THE place to go to sing Taiwanese and Cantonese songs in Honolulu + It has private rooms of various sizes for private parties. It also has several tables in the main hall if you don’t want to pay for your own private room. + Classy and clean and spacious. Nicely decorated. Not as seedy as some other karaōke places with private rooms in town. + They have a full menu of pupu and Taiwanese dishes. They also serve beverage and alcohol. So you can sing and drink and eat. + A great place for parties or just hanging out with friends and having a blast. + The private room has computerized song selection + It is located in the Discovery Bay building. The building has parking. The place validates parking for you. + The best deal is the happy hour until 9AM. It is only $ 10 per person plus drink orders in the private room, and free in the main hall plus drink orders. Cons — The song selection is just OK. There are not too many English songs. I found Lady Gaga, but no Bruno Mars or Katy Perry. There is a wider selection of Taiwanese and Cantonese songs. But the selection of newer songs from Taiwan and Hong Kong is somewhat limited. — The songs are a bit hard to find. The songs in the book are ordered by the number of words in the title, and then by the singer, and then by the song title, for both English and Chinese songs. It is confusing to locate the songs you’d like to sing. — The room can be expensive outside of happy hours.

This is a small place that is easily missed but is absolutely great. I think the service is partial towards Chinese patrons but that doesn’t really bother me. They have a great happy hour from 5 – 9. It’s 10 bucks for the whole time and you get a free drink. That comes to 2.50 an hour plus a free drink. Doesn’t get much cheaper than that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I came here for my girlfriend’s father’s birthday. I guess it was kind of weird singing in front of her family(especially the Chinese songs when I don’t know how to speak the language…) but I had fun nonetheless. We all had a blast even though I sing horribly. The staff was super friendly and was always willing to help us out whether it was grabbing us some water for our itchy throats or helping us figure out how to lineup the songs. I would recommend people to go her but fear that it will be too crowded for me to enjoy it in the future if I do =]
