Peggy’s Salon At the Kaimana

I am so happy to find my new hairstylist in Waikiki! I called after seeing the Unilocal reviews and was squeezed in with last minute’s notice. The shop is adorable and located in such a wonderful nice spot near beach and across from the park. David was soooo nice, experienced, and my color and cut was perfect. I could not ask for anything else. He was even mindful of my time and got me out in 2 hours. Perfect! Heads-​up that it’s cash only, but prices are so reasonable.

Have visited Peggy’s several times over the past several years while staying at the hotel. David does magnificent blow dry styles. Very happy, clean and comfortable salon. There is also a manicurist in the salon. Stop in and say hello. Male and female welcome.

Just had the best haircut with David that I have had in decades. I am on vacation and my thick wavy hair really needed some attention, but I was reluctant to take the leap. He really understood what I wanted and didn’t mess with my underlying style, just freshened it up with a great technique and a very inspiring attitude. I ended up also buying a mini traveling flat iron which was well worth it. The salon itself is a classic gem, with Peggy herself as the receptionist along with her adorable greeter, Coco Chanel the Maltese dog. The only downside was that he would only take cash, and I had to go out and find an ATM. Overall, just a lovely experience.

Debbie was amazing at putting my beautiful hair extensions in. I did a lot of research on it. And when she finished my hair with the 24″ hair extensions… It looks so real and amazing. I absolutely love it. But the best part is she follows up with me constantly… About how my hair extensions are doing… If I have any questions. She is always there to help me out. She is a very talented amazing hair stylist. Thanks.

Just got my hair highlighted and trimmed by Peggy, and what can I say… this was such a great experience! It’s been hard to find someone on the island who can highlight blonde hair and happy to say I’ve found my new spot. Peggy is such a warm lady and makes you feel so welcome. Already booked my next appointment. Bonus: you have a view of the park and ocean while you’re in her chair = total relaxation!

A lifesaver! I am so thankful I met Stylist Debbie who has experience with blond color and highlights. I had gone to Aveda for a couple of years which was okay but I was allergic to their products. Since I was so nervous to go anywhere else I suffered through with the allergies until I was referred to Debbie and what a relief to come home with gorgeous hair and no pain.
Later to find out Debbie is also a celebrity hair stylist. She most recently did Joan River’s hair while she was in town.
And the best part is her prices are very reasonable and her products she has available are ones she uses herself and are designed to pro-​long her treatments.
The salon is located right next to the Kaimana Beach and the New Otani Hotel. You can certainty treat yourself for an ocean front lunch or cocktail with your fresh new hair and style. You just can’t go wrong.

Fantastic talented Peggy! She made me look 20 years younger, and made the color of my hair just like it used to look 20 years ago! She did the hair and make up for my daughter’s wedding and she did a FANTASTIC job — my daughter looked like a movie star! She made me look like a Queen!

I first met Peggy several years ago when the surf school I attended was located a few doors down from her salon. Peggy was always very friendly with all of the newbie surfers shuttling past her doors and seemed to have such a welcoming shop. As I began to be more familiar with the island and fell in love with surfing, I shifted my stays sometimes to the New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel to be closer to my favorite surf breaks. On one of my stays, I was in dire need of a haircut, and not wanting to wait until I arrived back home, decided to wander into Peggy’s shop. I was instantly greeted as if I were an old friend and sat down to receive one of my most favorite haircuts of my life! I was going for something sassy and Peggy promptly decided a «Rhianna» cut was right up my alley. I left the shop with a brand new do, a beautiful pedicure and a smile.
As I sat for my pedicure, I marveled at the customers coming into the shop. Young and old, Peggy made them feel right at home and everyone left beautiful and polished. Regaling us all with stories of her trips to Vegas, Peggy is a true gem and I can see why one would wander in if they lived here just to say hello. Thank you Peggy, for the wonderful memories, and I look forward to seeing you next trip!
