Good job on the customer service! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, kept the water high and drink refilled without having to ask, good initiative. Great food. Next door to the Lotus Hotel. Beautiful views of the beach, all around nice atmosphere. We had the breaded zucchini and chicken and beef skewers, which were basted with a teriyaki sauce, nicely done! The prices are pretty good for a Waikiki spot! Definitely will be back.

We go to the New Otani on Saturday evenings just to have a drink, pupu, and listen to the guitar player, Vernon. His music is magical — he plays a wide range of genre and invites requests from his audience. He plays from 6PM to 9PM and takes one short break. This is a terrific spot to spend a weekend evening listening to great music while watching the sunset. The mai tais are delicious and the beer is nice and cold and served with a very chilled glass. A bar menu is available and you can also order from the Hau Tree Lanai Restaurant menu.(We park at Kapiolani Park — you don’t have to feed the meter after 6PM. The hotel does offer valet parking — if desired.)

On a Friday night, this was a busy place. Live music — acoustic guitar. They have a wide selection of wines by the glass and variety of island drinks. Not touristy which was nice.

This place definitely appeals to an older crowd. The prices are a little steep and the service is just ok. The pupus were average and I found something in my water twice! If you are just coming off the beach then this place is good for a quick drink and maybe a snack. Nothing worth going out for!

Stopped in this year for pupuus and drinks around happy hour only to find this lovely place has prices that keep creeping upward. Plan on around $ 50 for a beer, 1 wine and 2 small pupuus. The view is very lovely, but other than that, there is nothing very exceptional about happy hour here.

I absolutely love this place. I will walk the 2 ½ miles from my apartment just to come here and have a Mai Tai. Yes, I do believe they have the overall best Mai Tai on Oahu. Well, it is a close tie with the Halekulani Hotel. The bar only has about sex or seven bar stools. I usually come here alone so it is nice to sit at the bar and talk story with the friendly bar tenders. The lounge is adjacent to the bar and has some nice sitting area with tables in case you desire to eat some of their pupus. I have tried a few different pupus. They are a bit expensive but delicious. The Mai Tai is what I come here for. It is made in the Trader Vic style compete with crushed ice. There are equal parts of alcohol that compliments it well. Not to strong but a couple will certainly make you happy! The Mai Tai is a bit on the pricey side. I believe around $ 11 but it is worth spending a couple extra dollars for a quality drink. Oh, and the friendly bar tenders coupled with the amazing sunset right from your bar stool is priceless.

The Sunset Lanai Lounge is located in The New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel. It is situated between reception and the Hau Tree Lanai Restaurant. They have a limited menu of pupus and lunch items. A relaxing place to chill for cocktails and nestle the afternoon away.
