Argentine Tango Instruction, Choreography and Performance. Founders Brett and Jenny Griswold teach beginning through performance level dance for students of all ages. They also teach Tango and Partner Dance Technique.

History

Established in 2010.

Brett and Jenny Griswold have been dancing Argentine Tango since 2006. Dancing and teaching together since 2007, they taught and performed extensively in the Bay Area and Southern California. They founded SoCal Tango Argentino in 2010 while living in Southern California and changed their name to Paradise Tango when they relocated to Honolulu, HI in summer 2012. As SoCal Tango they taught at several Los Angeles and Orange County dance studios including: Fred Astaire Dance Center, Lineage Performing Arts Center, and Synthesis Dance Studio in Pasadena, and Dancesport CA and San Sara Dance Studio in Orange County. After moving to Honolulu in 2012 they taught through studio spaces and University of Hawaii at Manoa. In summer 2013 they decided to open their own dance studio to provide their students with more classes, more practice times, more private lesson availability and large events. They opened the doors of the new Paradise Tango dance studio in Chinatown in December 2013.

Business Owner

Jennifer was born and raised in New York City starting ballet at 7 yrs old and competitive ballroom dancing in college at 18 years old. Upon graduating college she moved to Santa Cruz, CA to pursue a PhD in Earth Sciences at UC-​Santa Cruz. In 2006 she began taking Argentine Tango lessons in Santa Cruz, and in 2007, she co-​founded Tangroupe, the Argentine Tango Society at UC Santa Cruz with her dance partner, and now co-​owner of Paradise Tango, Brett Griswold. Upon completion of her PhD Jennifer moved south to Los Angeles to begin a job working for NASA and opened SoCal Tango Argentino. In 2010, she and Brett competed at the US Tango Championships earning 2nd place in the Stage Tango Category and competed in Buenos Aires at the World Tango Championships for Stage and Salon Tango. In 2011 Jenny was offered an Asst. Prof. position at UH Manoa in the Meteorology Dept. Now in Hawaii they opened Paradise Tango in Dec 2013 and continue to teach classes at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
