Ginza Night Club

I don’t know why, but that bouncer with the tats picks on me. He calls me hurtful names and doesn’t care about my feelings. They usually never let me in the club either, I’m thinking it’s because I’m Korean. The few times I do get in, they get me so drunk. I think it’s because they want to see me fall. Why? Why would you want me to fall?! At least the Samoans are nice to me… be nice to me Mr. tattooed bouncer :(

Best after party! Open til 4am so everyone comes here when everything else closes at 2am. It’s a place where you get to have fun and sleep it off the next day lol :)

The most racist place ever. Filled with Asians. If you don’t look asian, they’ll charge you extra. Mix that with being a guy and I paid $ 40 to get in. Would never ever go here again. Felt like a minority after getting in and losing a majority of my cash. The girls only like Asian guys and it basically is a very racist club altogether.

This place is a dump. Coming from NYC on vacation at the island … My friends and I were told by some people that Ginza is «the spot»… That is so wrong! $ 20 cover charge at this place! Club is in a sketchy area and the inside is crap. Drinks were completely watered down and the bartender had no idea how to mix some of my requests– had to google them… And still charged $ 15 per drink. The music sucked so bad!!! Only house music and nothing else! The crowd was not fun for our group of late 20’s and early 30’s females. If you want a better atmosphere, better music, better dressed and looking people… Go to the bar at the Modern/​lobby bar. We felt most at home there and had a fantastic night!

I Honestly did not get to experience this club usually clubs back home start at 11:00 if you want to get in with no hassle.
When we had arrived its in the most ghetto place I was pretty surprised and a bit scared but it was nice inside. The website said 12 we go there at 12 it just had opened the doors and no one was there as in empty we were the only ones there the bouncer was nice enough to give me free cover but charged my partner which was fine. went to the washroom old Filipina lady was super nice please give her tips shes only based on tips.
The good thing was it was a walking distance to district which im guessing was a sister company of Ginza the bouncer had told us we would get in for free we went there. The Bouncer and Ginza said its usually bumping around 2am so I’m guessing its basically an after hour club after District. Probably come back next time! :)
5 Stars for the Bouncers and Old Lady in the Washroom

I was quite surprised to find out that some of the better nightclubs in Hawaii operate from 12:00am — 4:00am. Since I’m from San Diego, I’m used to going to the club from 9:00pm-2:00am.
We decided to check it out on a Friday night.
This club is literally located in an alley. Not sure if they have their own parking anywhere, but we simply parked across the street which belonged to another building but we didn’t get any warnings or tickets or anything so that was good.
Like noobs, we arrived right when they opened, and to my amazement we were the first ones there!
Girls are free and my boyfriend paid $ 15 admission.
Drinks are average priced.
For beer options, they only carry Corona and Heineken. Lame.
We were literally the only ones in there for a good hour. People really don’t start showing up until around 1:30 — 2:00am.
There is alot of people on a friday night, but not super packed.
There was still a good amount of room to walk around.
They do have a lot of VIP tables surrounding the dancefloor and more seatings in the back behind the DJ which we sat down and chilled at for awhile and wasn’t kicked off the tables which was cool.
I felt like the music was better in the beginning when there was nobody there, after it started filling up, they changed DJs and the music was pretty lame. Some hip hop, some edm.
Overall, this club is comparable to a simple bar in San Diego.
P. S. This club is definitely dominated by mostly asians!

Overall appeal is for mass appeal in music choice.
I paid 15 $ (a DJ or artist night at different club could be either cheaper or a bit more expensive depending on status, but damn 15 $ lol) and me and my girl were the only ones there for an hour and a half barely people to mingle with, which the bouncer probably knew and I was dressed amazing bow tie and all, when people pop in with graphic tees, and obvi not dress coded. Which is one of the reasons for the low stars.
Come to San Diego gaslamp or downtown LA or DTF. industry, talent circuit, amenities and consistent events are increasing. What I wish was this club could live up to my thoughts the 808 could be. So I hope someone can increase the night life experience for 808, which I know can be difficult due to distance of artists flying in and cost to offset ticket selling, etc etc but still can be done. In conclusion this place was like a hole in the wall bar/​club in the gaslamp I’d walk in and out of lol. & the reason is because if a club on a certain night plays music to the masses instead of a genre, not all is satisfied. So if you spread different nights with different types of music you can please everyone! Edm friday, hip hop trap Saturday for example. And the fact it was an hour and a half past opening until people showed up, that’s weird as f**k! NOT hate, just hope Hawaii ups their turn up game.

Lol looks like some fake fast and furious Tokyo drift type of shit. Didn’t bother going in there.

Non-​responsive management. Be prepared to be discriminated by the door guys by the color of your skin. $ 15, $ 20, $ 40, or $ 80 cover charge completely based on your race and nothing else.
I dislike dishonest, discriminatory, and shady business practices like this, so I would urge people to go elsewhere to spend your money and not support this type of establishment.
They will not change their discriminatory business practice until people stop going and they are losing money. So I hope people read this and urge others to not support this type of practice in Hawaii.
There is a much better alternative to salsa dancing at Ginza. Try Rumours on Tuesdays for salsa dancing, the restrooms are much cleaner, and there are plenty of secure parking at Rumours (Ala Moana Hotel), and you do not have to worry about parking your car in a shady area like Ginza.

Never coming here again! This place has some shady practices.
Friends of mine who are members here, invited me to join them one night. As we were entering, they asked for my ID. Having an out of state license, they told me the cover was $ 20. My friends explained that I was with them, so they lowered it to $ 15, which was nice. I guess. As I was paying, the guys behind me who were military (a mix of white and black) were getting their IDs checked, and they were told the cover for them was $ 40. That’s insane!
The drinks were expensive and the music was super loud. DJ was terrible. Overall experience is not worth it, especially not for $ 15, $ 20, or $ 40!

Some locals told me to check this nightlife out. Here are my thoughts:
Pros:
–The music was GOOD. It was a mixture of current hip-​hop, 90’s-05 hip-​hop, trap music, some EDM.
–It got PACKED around 2:00 AM, and they were far from closing anytime soon.
–The bartender was HOT, and after a few drinks, she eventually made them SUPER strong which made me and my friend stay longer in the club LOL.
Cons:
–They need better ventilation. It got super hot!
Tips:
-$ 20.00 cover, no hats, no sandals, and button up shirt needed for guys. This is Hawaii but this is also a nightclub.
–Don’t try to dance and grind on girls, they won’t like it. I saw so many guys get rejected, and need to get the idea that rap videos aren’t 100% reality.
–You need to talk to a girl at the smoking area, in a more quieter area, in line, or at a table. They don’t accept guys trying to dance with them, or talk to them with loud music playing. Most of them are trying to «turn up» with the least amount of physical interaction from strangers. They have goals too and they don’t want a d*** massage from behind.
Conclusion:
–I had fun!

Great atmosphere. First time there on Thursday for salsa and met great people. Exceeded my expectations for sure.

I love to go out dancing and last night was a good night at Ginza. I don’t drink so I couldn’t tell you about the price of drinks etc, but I will say that the music and sound system is pretty decent. I am not sure about the discrimination comment, but I will say this: they let me in pretty quickly and I am not Asian. I can pass maybe for mixed, then again I look local. So, I had a good time and Bassment did a great job

Very nice vibe, checked out the place on a Saturday night with few friends.
It certainly bring me back to college days lol, now I don’t feel so old anymore!
Good music, the DJ certainly knows how to set the mood and hype.
Would suggest go to The Distric from 12pm-​2am first, is operated by the same owner.
It’s practically empty prior to 2am, that’s when all the other bar and club closes.
Then this would just be packed with people!

Absolutely love this venue. Only great place open late. Drinks are cheap and you can always count on great DJs throughout the night.

Ginza is alright. They play basic dance music and the drinks are reasonable. But I gave it 2 stars because they will SERIOUSLY discriminate against you if you’re not asian. I’ve been there multiple times and the bouncers let my asian friends in with no problems. But when I try to walk in they usually try to charge me more or straight up don’t want to let me in.
If it wasn’t for the blatant discrimation I would have given this a much better rating…
Also they have a $ 30 minimum for card which is ridiculous too

Nothing against Asians… I’m Asian myself but… So many Asians everywhere at this place!!! I grew up on the mainland in a city where I was part of the .002% Asian population so this place was weird for me being around a bunch of other Asians LOL
Second, do you guys know that song called, «Hot N****» by Bobby Schmurda? If not, please go listen to it so you’ll know what I’m talking about. Anyways, this song will definitely get anyone hyped up in the club and this song came on at this place… Oh-​em-​gee. I was embarrassed. There’s this part of the song where he says, «And tell my n*****, Shmurda teaming, h**. Mitch caught a body ’bout a week ago!!! Week ago!» And the entire club went crazy on the «bout a week ago» part and I just want to say that I’ve never seen so many Asians hyped up over a song saying the «n» word like it was nothing (probably harmless but ya know lollol) and I was so embarrassed. My husband is black, his family is black. We were all there. And yea, super funny moment, no one was offended at all, but I wanted to leave after that.

One of the most racist places on this island if you are male and not asian be ready to become a victim of racism. Allow others to cut in front of you in line. Make you pay 5 times as much. also all the asian guys inside want to fight because «you are trying to steal their women»
However there are a lot of hot asian girls around

I heart Ginza! Being in the middle of the dance floor at 2 am is the best.
The club is mostly Japanese people and the two other white people will try and wave at me. Like they are here with me, but I don’t care because I’m here to dance.
The harder you dance the more fog they blow on the dance floor. There might even be glitter cannons. I never can remember.
My friend Doc Rock is usually here, number 1 hype man.
Don’t try to park, it’s a mess but if your wasted why would you be driving anyway?

GINZA is awesome.
Now there’s SALSAMOR on Thursday nights which makes it more awesomer! Salsa night starts earlier than Friday and Saturdays, 8pm-​1am. Totally different crowd, older and professional but super friendly and easy to make friends. The promoters will teach you how to dance if you don’t know how. Definitely worth checking out.
The weekends are crazy fun too. Super packed. Go to late and you’ll be spending a long time waiting in line. But totally worth it. Hot Asians and Locals fill the place!

I don’t know much about Ginza because I’ve always been too inebriated to notice anything. What I do know, is girls get in free and it’s not the place to go to pre-​game or spend the bulk of your night at – it’s the place you go after you finish all of that :) It doesn’t get crowded until maybe midnight? I’ve also heard that many guys thoroughly enjoy Ginza because they keep the male to female in check. So guys, if you can get in, you might be lucky enough to have nice conversations with some females.

I’ve been out of the scene for a while so I’m really comparing my experience to 4 years ago when I used to go out more consistently. I came here on a Saturday night on a non promotion night. Bar service was pretty good. Wasn’t hard to get their attention and drinks were served quickly. Music is okay. Volume was just right but I wasn’t really feeling the music. I guess it had to change at some point, right? As it got later into the night, there seemed to be 1 girl for every 2 guys. Seemed to be mostly a local crowd. Did not really notice tourists or military guys.

The best after-​hours spot to hit up. It’s the place to party and be seen at. On point with the beautiful people, sounds, lighting, ambience, ac, etccccc… Can’t say that for a lot of other places. Shoutout to the entire staff! Props to them for dealing with the madness every single week. This club gets extremely packed, and there’s still always a line to get in at like 3am! I always have a great time here with my friends. They always host after-​parties for big events… so top djs are always spinning there, and you can always count on seeing a celebrity in the VIP/​bottle service area. It’s THE HOT SPOT of Honolulu!

Great after hours club! By 1:30am this place is popping. I was stupid and came at midnight thinking it was a regular club. Luckily the two bouncers explained the situation to me and told us to come back when they actually had bartenders and guests. We hit up Vice and made our way back to Ginza for our second wind.
I wouldn’t go so far as to call this a Vegas club but it is a classier club than others. People are dressed a little nicer and the interior is very cool. I didn’t spot any fashion felonies when I was there. Images of city lights and other cool backdrops light up the bar areas. Drinks are priced fairly in my opinion. Music was a chill mix of house. Good DJ. When you think Vice is Asian, Ginza somehow ‘out-​Asians’ it and takes it to a whole ‘nother level of Asian. Luckily my non-​Asian friends were fine with being the only non-​Asians and we had a fun time.
If you know you are going to come here save your energy because they are open until 4am. We definitely did not stay that long but even 3am was taking a toll on me. Reminded me of when I lived in Vegas. Gotta power through and keep going hard. I saw one girl repeatedly yawn inside the club. Funnies.
Ghetto area. Located in what looks like a warehouse but is somehow a club. Unmarked door. Just look for the line. There is a ramp that leads to a parking lot to the right of the door. Girls were free when I went and guys were $ 15. Park in the lots if you want to be safe or be like me and risk it and park in some random spot down the alley. Check out the rice rockets as you walk back to your car. You are literally in the movie, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.
