C – Cure Fence

Our iron gate was a hideous pain, scraping the concrete of our driveway and pulling stucco off the side of our house where it was poorly attached. A contractor quoted us $ 1000 to fix it, so we suffered its brokenness until it was literally doing more harm than good. Then the Unilocal research and phone calls began.
I think Roger was my second call, the first one was such a blow-​off and completely unhelpful. Roger asked me to send photos of the issues, which I did, and he responded with a plan and a quote within minutes. Relieved by how much less than $ 1000 it was, I reached out after discussing with my better half and decided to schedule him. There was a delay in his response at that point, but we did hear back from him a couple days later. On the day we set up, he didn’t show up when we expected him, but was responsive to texts and gave an ETA. Apparently he was perfecting another job and it worked out okay, because we didn’t plan to go anywhere. The service was great once they arrived. Roger and his coworker (who’s name escapes me) got to work right away. There were some unanticipated hiccups and they addressed them without charging us more, even soldering a wheel on the gate so it can’t get out of alignment or scrape again. They also poured concrete around the post where it was sinking, and installed new brackets and a new latch that enables the gate to function like a dream.
I have 5 star feelings about the service overall, but I do get more than a little annoyed when I have to wait without warning, hence the 4. Overall, highly recommended, though!

Roger is great. Was on time and worked within our budget. He builds a quality product. Everything lined up and his cuts are precise. Highly recommend him!

Unless he’s been seriously injured or has been kidnapped, this man and his company are flaky and unreliable (even by contractor standards). I called him on July 14^th, he confirmed he would come to my home to give me a bid on replacing a 61 foot long /​7 foot tall redwood fence on July 16^th at 2PM. He asked me to text him a confirmation and my home address, which I did. Thursday at 2PM came and when he still wasn’t there at 2:45PM I called him (no answer) and left word. I also texted him… three times. I also left him a voice message three hours after he didn’t show up just saying that I hoped he was OK and to please let me know that he was. That was over two weeks ago and I’ve yet to hear back from him.
I’m not sure why he completely flaked on me with no communication or apology. But I did take two days off work to be present for various contractors who were coming to bid on several jobs that needed doing at my house. My time is no more precious than anyone else’s and I totally understand that things happen, but not showing up and NEVER contacting me after numerous texts and calls is just disrespectful and a very poor reflection of this man and his company’s follow through skills. Unreliable, irresponsible and flaky aren’t words that I want to use to describe someone who would have been building a major project at my home.

C-​Cure Fence was fantastic. Roger was extremely responsible and explained everything regarding service, design and cost. After we paid him in full he promised to return to fix a minor item and he did so on his own. We also, asked Roger to return again to change something else on our gate which he did promptly and did not ask for an additional feel. Roger was terrific!!! We’d definitely use them again in a heartbeat.

Roger built a new fence for us a few months ago, it was a real pleasure working with him. As an architect by trade, I am extremely picky about construction and finish work, and I’ve had to deal with both good and the bad contractors. Roger was not only on-​schedule and professional, he gave a reasonable quote and made sure that the final product meet our complete satisfaction.

At our old house, we had a great fence guy (the kind who builds fences, not the kind who fences stolen goods — big difference). Unfortunately when we wanted to hire him again at our new house in Monrovia, we found out he was pretty much retired.
My wife then researched Unilocal for someone new and found C-​Cure. Roger and his company had glowing reviews and I’m happy to say they’re true. He is professional, affordable, and punctual. He was also very friendly to us and our baby son, which is a great bonus.
Due to a mistake I made (I accidentally bought the wrong kind of stain for him to use) he and his employee, whose name I forget but who was also great, had to return another day to finish staining. I’m sure this cut into their day, but they didn’t complain or charge extra. They also didn’t rush to get out of there.
As much as we liked our old fence guy, I’m kind of glad he retired because if not then we wouldn’t have worked w/​Roger.

I found Roger on Unilocal trying to find someone who would install two small sections of chain link and two gates. Roger scoped out my property on «maps» and provided a bid over the phone. He was willing to do the small job even though I was out of his normal service area. On the scheduled work day, they had it all finished in a couple of hours and left the site in good order. Reasonable price, great work, excellent value, prompt service. It doesn’t get any better!

Parts of the original existing wood gates for the house built mid century had become a spongy shell with consistency of a loofah. Called several companies for a replacement estimate.
On top of a reasonable quote, C-​Cure fence (Roger) seemed the most knowledgeable and connected best to the modern aesthetic that I wanted.
The installation of the new gates turned out to be much better than I expected. The design and details demonstrate that Roger and his team take great pride in their work. Roger even came back several days later to check up for fit and finish to ensure it all turned out perfectly. I couldn’t be happier.

It has been a month since my tongue and grooved redwood metal framed gate/​fence was installed. I couldn’t be any happier with the way it turned out. Roger and his crew were great and did an outstanding job. I was looking for a stain that gave the fence a look of reclaimed wood and Roger found a non toxic wood treatment by ECO. The metal frame was painted with Dunn Edwards «weathered brown» which matches my exterior trim and compliments the stain. I highly recommend C-​Cure Fence.

C-​Cure Fence have excellent communication, a high work ethic, and great results. From estimate to completion, it was a simple process working with Roger and his crew. I needed a new chain link fence installed in my back yard and an existing one extended in my side yard. Then, a mesh privacy screen needed to be hung up, with 8′ x 6′ rolled bamboo panels over that. Fairly simple stuff in theory. However, because the side yard fence is built into a retaining wall, hanging up the bamboo could have been an ordeal since it wouldn’t rest on the ground. C-​Cure did an excellent job constructing the fence and installing the screen & bamboo rolls. It looks great! I would recommend Roger and his crew to anyone.

I had some damages I needed repaired. Roger gave the most honest feedback about the fence and was the lowest quoted price. The work he completed was to everyone’s satisfaction. I would definitely use C-​Cure again.

Great new gate! Great service. Arrived exactly when scheduled, and done in 45 minutes. They also repaired my driveway gate at the same time. Very good price. The boss and all his guys were very nice. Also a local company from nearby, which I prefer to patronize. I recommend them highly.

Found C-​Cure Fence and Gates on Unilocal,called them to get an estimate, they came out right away. We got a couple more estimates from other fence companies with positive reviews on Unilocal as well.
From the four estimates we obtained, C-​Cure Fence and Gates was by far the best price along with quality materials and professional workmanship.
We called C-​Cure Fence immediately, the owner, Roger, came out to measure, he was very informative, spent time giving us suggestions, and showed us pictures of his work.
Within a few days work started on our fence, Roger kept us informed throughout the construction, nothing was rushed. The fence and gate look amazing we get great compliments!

Took a day off of work to get estimates on a wooden fence. Arrived on time, told me he would email me a quote 3 days later. It’s been a month and still no quote. Waste of my time…
