History

Established in 1994.

John LaRocca has been performing home and building inspections professionally since 1979. However, LaRocca Inspections Systems, Inc. was born in 1994 when John LaRocca teamed up with Chris Wrightsman to combine their resources and talents.

LaRocca Inspections was an instant hit with Los Angeles based Realtors. A key factor in LaRocca Inspections success was their development of a new system, which allowed the inspectors to deliver each inspection report on site.

Since its inception in 1994, LaRocca Inspections has become one of the largest property inspection companies in the country and has performed over 100,000 inspections!

John LaRocca is tyhe president of LaRocca Inspections. He has been a licensed general contractor since 1969 and has been in the real estate inspection industry for over 23 years. He is a member of the California Real Estate Inspection Association (CREIA) and has been the president of both the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles-​Mid Valley chapters of the organization. LaRocca Inspections has performed over 100,000 inspections and is a leader in the home inspection industry.

horrible horrible horrible. 6 years ago my wife and I used La Rocca for an inspection on the condo we ended up buying. 6 years have gone by, I am trying to sell my condo and am stuck paying for things the inspectors missed and did not note. I have to install a seismic gas valve, because in the inspectors report it was not marked as an area of concern, my guest bathroom needs to have GFCI outlets installed because 6 years ago no one noticed that they weren’t there. I tried calling their customer service number, had a gentleman call me back who does not know anything about customer support or service. Was rude to me, did not offer any remedy, pretty much told me I am on my own. Would not even recommend this place to my worst enemies. If you are buying a property it is better to pay more and get a high quality inspection than the garbage that this company does.

A buyer performs a home inspection in order to get an inventory of unforeseen home issues that can cost the new home owner a substantial amount of money. Part of that process includes getting a rough estimate for cost or replacement per industry standards. I had a sewer and chimney inspection as well. The latter two gave me approximate estimates. the general inspector would not. I’ve had other general inspections performed where the inspector provided a rough estimate. Unfortunately, in this case, the latter did not happen. As a result, I have to ask other professionals prior to making a time sensitive decision of whether or not to purchase the home. There are cheaper companies out there that will give you a better assessment. SHOP AROUND.

Not only is Stan Tabor on the top of my list of inspectors that I recommend to my clients (I am a real estate agent with Sotheby’s in Los Feliz) but he is also who I used as an inspector when I purchased my own house. He is extremely smart and thorough. Not only that but he is extremely professional, upbeat and calm. He is a problem solver who will help you think of alternative solutions to problems.
I also really like using Rory Foley for chimney inspections. I regret not using him for my own chimney inspection as he is my favorite chimney inspector!
Whether you are a real estate agent or a home buyer I strongly recommend La Rocca for general and chimney inspections!

Bud is THE BEST. On time, professional, thorough and very personable. I never feel like he rushes through his inspections. He takes his time and is hands down the most thorough inspector I have ever used. Seriously the best! Today he noticed something that I think 99% of other inspectors would have missed and potentially saved us a major issue down the road. Thanks Bud. You rock!

ZERO STARS! RUN don’t walk, if they’re suggested or offered as the inspector during a sales transaction. Do not use this company if you’re a buyer! They are borderline incompetent and overlook the most basic issues that should be identified.

Against my better judgment I used them when I purchased my condo at the advice of agent. The day after I moved in turned on the water in the kitchen sink only to discover that it was leaking. I had 3 – 4 plumbing leaks in the next six months in each bathroom. Then I discovered the trash compactor was broken. As I began to plug things in, I disovered that many of the electrical outlets were cracked. One had been hanging out the wall. I asked my agent about it and he told me not to complain or it would «blow the deal“In a buyer’s market I overpaid. by at least $ 20,000. The agent seemed to be only interested in collecting his commision with «no drama.» Thank God, I had the home owner’s warranty so at least some of the costs were covered. If says that this company is owned by John Larocca. There is a John Larocca that has a terrible reputation in the entertainment industry and in real estate. It is the same person, run the other way quickly.

Worst company ever. 14 years in a business, never seen a company this bad. Biggest deal breaker, I showed their report to 4 other professionals to compare, all 4 were shocked how bad it was. The inspector had no idea where to look for a pool drainage, didn’t know how to inspect a supporting wall, and he recommends a professional to inspect it. I thought they were suppose to be the professionals, isn’t that why they got the money for the job?

OMG — CLOWNS. These knuckleheads are in deep with false information, shoddy inspections, errors all over the place, and all under the watchful eyes of… NOBODY.
Watch out. They will say everything is missing or not working or not to code. But in actuality, it is. Flat out big time mistakes.
Anyone can plug a ground tester into a plug to see if it is grounded. Wow. Very impressive.
But when they make glaring mistakes and errors on the report, that is a problem.
And yet, since there is no regulatory body overseeing these clowns, they can make these mistakes all day long without any penalty. Frightening.

Stan Tabor came out to two properties we were considering buying in Tujunga (the first one didn’t work out due to the guy cooking meth in the house behind it!). Each time we dealt with Stan was a pleasure. He was so professional and detailed. Most people tell me these inspections last about an hour or so but Stan spent almost three hours at each property! Although slightly long to sit around and wait, this is one of those things you definitely shouldn’t rush through! He walked us through the property and pointed out issues he saw, explained everything to us, and then went through all the pictures and preliminary report with us. I recommend this company to anyone who is considering buying a house. Stan is incredibly knowledgable, patient, and nice. And he also gives out these great La Rocca pens!!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. you would think the inspection went smoothly but a day after getting the key to our new home, one problem after another, this so-​called inspectors SHOULD’VE caught. Our dishwasher was broken, heater wasn’t working, and now roof is leaking. We are pretty close to suing this company but guess what, they make u sign shit so u can’t/not worth it.

My experience with La Rocca was very professional. I’ve hired Mold Check with John Mattoon and Chimney Check with Ian Millsap. Both of these licensed professional inspectors provided impeccable reports and in some cases lab test results for mold and a webcam video of inside of my chimneys. They’re an inspection company who provides a suggested list of professionals who can repair or replace issues within your home and meet California (Los Angeles) code (s). Call them before you spend a lot of money for repairs for mold, water damage, your chimney or purchasing a new home.

I am selling my condo and unfortunately the buyers hired LaRocca Inspection. I understand that the inspectors need to inspect items in your home, but it looked like a teenager had run around my place touching and moving everything.
My dining room chairs where all moved, fireplace left open and the switch left on, lights left on, my blinds were completely skewed and a couple of them bent, my closet door was off the track and my shower faucet was tightly cranked in the wrong direction (it’s old and hard to move).
Leaving my home in this state is completely unprofessional. The inspector I used to buy my condo, Mike Boeger of Equity Building Inspection, was extremely professional so I know how an inspector can be.
It will be interesting to see what their inspection report ends up looking like.
