Business Owner

Our President was a quality North Shore custom home builder in the 80’s and 90’s. Since retiring from home building, Jack has received licenses for home inspections, mold remediation, roofing and many other handyman certifications. He has used this knowledge to cultivate and hire only the best service technicians for their particular fields. Today, Jack and his company Hammer & Home proudly serve the needs of home and office space owners throughout Chicagoland.

My personal experience with Jack was not good. I called him after seeing great reviews. I had him to work on replacement of my kitchen counter tops. I found him twice as expensive than other guys. I eventually went with other handyman. I would not recommend Jack to anyone.

I was in a panic as someone had promised to hang a shelf for me and bailed last minute. I really needed it hung for a party I was having. I called and spoke with Jack. I pleaded my case with him. I promised him it wouldn’t take longer than 10 minutes. It actually took longer but he never brought that up. Phewwwww. He was awesome. It looks amazing. My party was a success and I am forever grateful to jack for coming to my rescue! 5 stars!!!

Our experience with Jack was very positive. He is kind, thorough, and trustworthy. Jack brings a great deal of experience to bear on multiple fronts. His pragmatic approach is both logical and straightforward.
Additionally, Jack is there every step of the way, thinking things through and working to determine a sound solution to most any home issue. He cares and is a careful and deliberate problem solver.

Jack did a kitchen remodel for us this Spring. I can not rave enough about the great work he did! In our initial meeting, I told him the things I didn’t like with our current kitchen and already had some ideas on the redesign. Jack brought us samples of cabinets and understood the look I was going for. He suggested places for us to look for lighting and counter tops, which made the selection process a breeze. The kitchen demo and installation only took 3 weeks! We were able to start using the kitchen again while Jack finished up minor things (back splash and matching our hardwood floors.) We are SO happy with the kitchen remodel. I look at it everyday and smile! Any future projects we have, Jack will be out go to contractor.
