Did a great job for us. Clean, efficient, kept their appointments on time. Recommend.

This company was seriously a pain to deal with.
When I first contacted them they seemed like a good company and had a reasonable rate for the electrical work I needed, replacing my panel and adding ceiling fans. After being told the hourly rate several times by several different employees and having a walk through at my condo the hourly rate magically increased by over 50%. And instead of invoicing me directly for parts as I was told they would, they quoted me a flat rate that was more than double the cost that I had priced out myself.
I left a review here complaining about this, and someone from the office contacted me to try to work something out. I had quotes from three other electricians, all of them between $ 1500 and $ 1700. Punch List was only willing to come down to $ 1700 despite their original quote being significantly lower. I decided to go with them anyway because the other companies all had lower reviews on here, or seemed unreliable.
So, for the work itself… in a word: sloppy. First of all they replaced my 15 breaker panel (that I wasn’t even using all of the spaces in) with a 30 space panel. Why would you use a panel more than double the needed size for just a condo? I can only imagine that the reason is that they buy panels in bulk and were trying to save money by using one already in stock rather than buying one more appropriately sized for my unit.
When I had complained earlier about their pricing on the materials going from at cost to a flat rate I told them that I had priced out the materials at Home Depot for less than half the cost. Their response was «Well we wouldn’t buy a panel from Home Depot.» Well, maybe if you did I wouldn’t have a giant panel taking up half the wall in my kitchen.
There are bigger issues with the panel though, the workers mounted it in the wall completely crooked. The top left corner sticks out in front of the drywall, while the bottom right corner is too far back and behind it. This looks really bad, and has made repairing the drywall much more difficult. Also, because they put the panel in so crooked they had to bend the shit out of the panel cover to get it on. They bent it so much that now that the drywall is fixed, the cover no longer fits on the panel properly.
There were also a couple of other issues, like the fact that they put a 2′ downrod on one of the ceiling fans, when I have 8′ ceilings, and they didn’t even mount it straight. They also made a pretty big mess. They put plastic down in the bedrooms while they were running conduit, but for some reason removed it before they actually installed the fans, getting drywall dust everywhere. They left all the garbage laying around too. When they left at the end of the day they took some of the garbage with them, I assumed to the dumpster, but they just left it sitting by my front door. Between all this and the panel it’s just not very professional work.
If Punch List had been willing to fix their mistakes I wouldn’t complain, but when I contacted the office they did nothing but argue with me. They basically said I was lying about getting lower quotes, and told me that they didn’t know that the ceiling fans were new installations, and if they had they would have charged me even more, so I shouldn’t complain. This is despite me telling them this more than once, it being stated in the quote that they sent me, and doing a walk through beforehand.
They also told me that whoever I got to fix the drywall would fix the crooked electrical panel. I’m sorry, but a drywall guy is not going to fix the electrical panel. And even if I found one that would, I shouldn’t have to pay them extra to fix your mistakes.
I wish I had gone with one of the other companies, I would have saved money and a lot of headaches.

After reading so many glowing reviews from other Unilocalers, I was sorely disappointed with the service I received.
I originally made two separate appointments for the same day: one to get a quote for some remodeling work I plan on having done on my new condo, and another to tackle a laundry list of fairly simple tasks. I made it clear when I made the appointments that they needed to be separate.
On the day of my appointments, the salesperson and the handyman arrived at the same time, and they were 15 minutes earlier than promised. Being early sounds nice until you realize you’re paying for the time in 15 minute increments. And they showed up while I was still wrapping up a conference call, so I ended up paying them to hang out in my living room.
It was awkward trying to address both of them at the same time, and it didn’t help that the salesperson kept mentioning he had another appointment to get to. And again, I’m paying for the handyperson’s time, so the constant back and forth was slowing things down and costing me extra.
I was unhappy with the handywork. The handyman pulled one of my large window air conditioners out and set it down on the ground where it proceeded to leak a huge puddle of water all over my hardwood floor. He was also supposed to re-​caulk my tub, and it turned out it also needed grout, which he hadn’t brought with him — rather than dart *literally across the street* to the hardware store for grout, he told me there would be no charge to come back out another day with grout, so I didn’t press the issue. Well, it turns out there’s no charge for coming out, but I would still have to pay the one hour minimum for what would amount to a 15 – 20 minute task. This is probably a common misunderstanding, and I really wish they had been willing to make it right. I appreciated the help lugging my AC units to storage, as I’m not strong enough to that myself, but nearly everything else I paid for was a waste. The door that was adjusted was crooked again by the end of the day; the kitchen cabinet door that was adjusted was also crooked again by the end of the day; and the stuck radiator valve he managed to get open was once again stuck, but now in the fully open position, so I went from having a cold bedroom to a sweltering sauna of a bedroom. It’s obviously not his fault the valve is malfunctioning, but when I asked how he got it to budge after my selling agent, buying agent, and inspector all couldn’t get it to budge, he just laughed me off saying it was no big deal, and I foolishly hoped that it was finally fixed and I’d be able to adjust it as needed. Some of the problem here was that I was distracted by the salesperson, so I couldn’t see that the AC was leaking water all over the floor until it had gotten all over the floor, I couldn’t watch when the handyman opened the radiator valve, etc.
The salesperson was a whole other headache. If you’re a young woman looking for a quote for home renovations, and if you prefer not to be condescended to and laughed at by a random dude, I recommend going elsewhere. This fellow was unbelievably unprofessional. He repeatedly interrupted my interactions with the handyman, including standing in my bathtub with his shoes on and wiggling around while cracking up at the sound the tub was making. Seriously??? Yes, my tub is squeaky, and I had asked for confirmation that this was not something I needed to worry about — I’m still not convinced either of them had any idea what they were talking about when they said the squeaking is nothing to worry about, and this episode interrupted the handyman looking at my kitchen window, which means I was left to wrestle it back shut after they left. The sales guy was dismissive about a lot of my inquiries — I asked for a ballpark figure on having built-​ins put in my living room, and he condescendingly told me that I don’t want to spend my money on that. Wow. Okay. Thanks for the unsolicited advice; now can you please tell me what something like that might cost? He was similarly flip about other requests, and the quote took much longer to deliver than promised.
There’s more, but I think y’all get the idea.
When I wrote an email explaining my disappointment, I got an apology and an offer to come back out to spend more time on my quote. Um, how about finishing the work on my tub, and then maybe we can talk about me spending more money with your company? Sorry guys — you dropped the ball this time.
My guess is that this team is more geared toward larger and more complex jobs, as the Unilocalers who had major reno’s and other projects completed seem consistently happy. I was hoping this smaller work would earn my trust for future larger work. Oh, well.
ETA: Just checked my invoice. I was charged not only for the early arrival, but also for an inexplicable extra quarter hour. That’s an extra $ 45.50, which is not exactly pocket change.

After being burned by another handyman company, i started using punch list. So far everything they have done has been high quality, and they have stood by their work… coming back to fix minor details. The are top notch

Fantastic, both in their customer service and craftsmanship. We had several fixtures installed, which required extensive rewiring. The work was impeccable, works perfectly and I’m sure will look great for years to come. If you’re looking for reasonably priced home improvement contractors (and help increase your properties value in the process) I highly recommend PunchList.
Our electrician Joe was polite, fast and professional. Really happy with the results.

Very, very pleased with Punch List. They were recommended to me by a general contractor eight months ago and I kept the info on file. I recently had need of a handyman (re-​hanging a gate I was having difficulty with and patching drywall) so I sent in a request in the evening, received a phone call the next morning first thing and had a handyman — Dave — out by the middle of the afternoon. I had a small project, which he completed in less than an hour but I should say he didn’t rush — checked to make sure everything was connected securely and made adjustments, etc. I will definitely use Punch List again — good communication, professional, friendly staff.

I needed a television hung on a wall on short notice, and Punch List delivered with a super-​fast turnaround, and a job well done. They were outstanding from start to finish. Strongly recommend.

I needed to hang a 150+ pound tin framed mirror above my mantle. I tried using
and they couldn’t handle the job. Punch List really came through. Jim was a true professional and took the time to make sure the job was done right. We had a little time left at the end of the hour and he was able to better secure another shelf to a wall for me. I will definitely use Punch List for other projects in the future!

I’ll reward the good karma. Note this is only based on the initial call to get estimate, it turns out they don’t do the work i needed (gutter/​downspout issue), but they were so quick to return my online submission with a call and were about as nice as nice can be, it was so different than all my other experiences with the different trades that it was worth a mention. I’ll keep them on file for next project.

Dave to the rescue!!! I have a tall window over a staircase in my living room and didn’t think it was going to be possible to have curtains hung. Thanks to Dave’s outside of the box thinking, I finally have panels hung! He did some gymnastic moves to stand on a step ladder over a board he sawed to perfectly fit the area. So incredibly happy with the end result! :)

I had some door problems which were expertly fixed by Scotty and I am currently in the middle of a project with an electrician Joseph.
These guys are the ultimate professionals, they turn up precisely on time, they are fast, efficient and know exactly what they are doing. Its clear that this is a company that only employs people who are experienced and well trained. They are my go-​to for every project and they have never disappointed. Scheduling office is friendly and efficient. Highly recommend them.

From top to bottom, this organization was so helpful in getting our bathroom fixed. When calling to book an appointment, they helped book some times for an initial assessment and follow up appointments with ease and catering to our busy schedules.
Although they did fix the initial problem, which was leaky tiles in and around the shower (which were molding the floor board underneath), the shower started leaking afterward. When calling to fix the issue, they very apologetic about our expectations not being met. They fixed the leaky shower a few days later and now everything is as good as new!

Joe the electrician is the BEST! He arrives on time, has his tools at the ready after I sent them photos of the scope-​of-​work, acts methodically for a solution with a neat outcome. I’ve worked with all kinds of electricians in my career as I am an interior designer and Joe is the best of all! On his first visit we had him move an outlet to below a desk countertop. His second visit was to install track lighting on a concrete ceiling. Next week he’ll install three pendant light fixtures. His work is logical and clean minded. He is now my go-​to electrician from The Punch List. We’ve had him over twice already.
The Punch List staff is very friendly, flexible to work with in terms of scheduling, reasonably priced with no surprises, and aim to please with a follow through. You can’t beat their professionalism.

Just estimate costs 38 $ forget it

Details: My spouse and I just moved into a lovely place in Andersonville. We were having a housewarming that weekend and needed a couple of last minute touches after moving in. Particularly, because I didn’t want to ruin the walls by trying to hang 18 – 20 pieces of art myself, I decided to hire a handyman.
Phoned 2 owner-​services, one wasn’t available until after Labor Day and the other didn’t return my call. Punch List was next. They were fast to respond. Score one. Worked to get me an appointment within my wonky time constraints, letting me know «Scotty» would be arriving Friday morning. Score 2.
He arrived early. We went through our home to outline what needed to be done; in addition to hanging art on stairwells and funky landings, we also needed a hinge repaired on a 19^th century English buffet server. Scotty knows furniture, so explained that he would «gingerly» try to repair the hing. However, he didn’t want to harm the surrounding wood, so if he couldn’t repair it without doing so, he’d stop trying. Fair enough. Going one step further, he recommended a woodworking shop that specialized in antiques such as this. Perfect. Score 3.
He measured everything; arranged pieces as I indicated, and when he wasn’t sure about exactly where to place a piece, he politely asked. He finished in 90 minutes and when my spouse came home later, the response was «Great job.»
I think we’d call this a «grand slam,» baseball or tennis, pick your sport. Punch List and Scotty are excellent.

Andres arrived for our appointment today 10 minutes early so we got off to a great start. I love it when people are prompt and being 10 minutes early was even better.
I had three different things I needed done and Andres was able to get them completed quickly, definitely to my standards and cleaned up any debris left behind.
He was here for four hours and everything was done to my satisfaction. Knowing that two of the jobs I definitely couldn’t have completed on my own, I feel that the value I received from Punch List was exceptional and worth the cost.
I’m already working on my next list of things to get fixed!

The callback to my inquiry was prompt and courteous but our timelines did not mesh so I am unable to review the service at this time.

After getting a number of proposals to renovate our kitchen, we settled on Punch List for these reasons: 1) they promptly got us a very detailed quote 2) the price was fair and 3) we had used them for a few small repairs around the house earlier and we were impressed by their promptness, attention to detail, and quality of work. We had spent about 3 – 4 years trying to find someone (kitchen designer /​contractor, etc) who would be willing and able to do this job and also give us a clear idea regarding expense, but without breaking the bank.
The renovation took the time that they predicted it would. The only delay was when we had to wait for the countertops to be cut and delivered (this was due to Andersonville Kitchen and Bath’s delay with Stonemasters, not Punchlist). Fergus and his team were prompt (arriving every day a few minutes before 8 AM), trustworthy, working steadily, carefully (no dings on the plaster walls in the hallway, etc), and effectively, and were reliable, efficient and helpful in explaining each step of the process. They always left at about the same time, and every day they cleaned up (dry /​wet vac’ed, broomed, mopped) the work area so it was spotless (or as spotless as it can get when you renovating a kitchen).
Examples: although our kitchen’s footprint stayed the same, our renovation (house: built circa 1897; kitchen was last updated in 1990) was a difficult one, with plumbing and electrical upgrades, appliance movement, tearing out the old ceiling, etc. All of the appliances that we were keeping were removed carefully, tucked away (i.e. carrying dishwasher to the basement), and meticulously re-​installed. They were able to carefully work around our old monster of a Sub-​Zero fridge as we agreed that trying to disconnect and move it to another part of the house would not be a good idea with kids running around. We made a few aesthetic changes along the way, and they were great about it — for example, they beautifully installed some lovely (and expensive) pendant lights from Lightology, and when we all looked at where we initially thought they should hang, we decided to drop them a little lower. The guys would always respond with a great can-​do attitude.
Punch List and Fergus are great. It’s nice to finally have a great kitchen and we will definitely have Punch List back to do the usual house maintenance. For anyone that thinks they are too expensive, well, I say the work Punch List does can be difficult and complicated, and working on old houses especially can be difficult. You get what you pay for.
