B&T 24 Hour Locksmith

I tried to rekey a deadbolt lock on my own and ended up messing up the lock. I also couldn’t just get a new deadbolt and replace it because the bore diameter on my door was too small (I have an older door). I called Brian and he was super helpful. He told me that I could get a new deadbolt but remove the collar so that it would fit a smaller diameter. This worked like a charm! I really appreciate that he cared more about me saving money than him getting more business. Thanks Brian!

Brian is very good. He came out and changed my front door lock after I got rid of a crazy tenant, and he warned me about the crappy lock mechanism at that time, but I decided to continue with it. He was on time, and on estimate, and he put a key lock on my security door for free. A month later the crappy lock mechanism failed, and he came right over on a Sunday morning, changed the mechanism and recut the keys. He was cheerful, brisk, and he didn’t charge me a cent. You can’t beat that with a big stick!

My little girl locked the bathroom door and pull it shut behind her. I called Brian (?) and described the problem and asked for a quote. He gave me a tip to try unlocking it on my own or have him come out for fee if that doesn’t work. Well, 30 secs later, his tip worked, saving me alot of money for a silly thing my toddler did! I called him back just to thank him, and he says he prefers to sleep at night and not rob people:)) Thanks so much for giving me a tip instead of ripping me off for a simple fix! Will totally call him for any lock jobs and will definitely refer him to all our friends! 5 stars for honesty and having common human decency.

This guy said $ 100 to remove my bedroom door lock that i HALFWAY beat off with a mallet… I’ll just take off my heels and crawl through the window.

Great service and good prices. Brian was recommended to me by our realtor and he did not disappoint. He did have an issue with the power in his van at my house and wasn’t able to make all of the keys I had requested, but he didn’t charge me for the keys he made and was very apologetic. I will definitely call him in the future when I need a locksmith again.

Other places were giving me ETAs of a few hours or the next day; Brian arrived within minutes… what a relief. He got the job done, was kind, and had great prices.

I called B&T up for a quote, and Brian was at my house in less than 30 min. He charged me $ 10 less than what I was initially quoted, and he threw in a set of keys for free (which usually cost extra). Very nice guy, I’d definitely recommend.

Brian is awesome! We had an ex-​employee who refused to turn in his keys to our youth center. We needed to change the key to our front gate FAST as we were closing for the Winter Break for 2 weeks and did not want our ex-​employee to have access to our building during that time. I called Brian after being referred to him by another company that was booked up and he came right over. He even made a recommendation that we change our locks to programmable locks so that if/​when the situation arises in the future, we can merely change the code of the exiting employee. Great recommendation! Also, after changing the locks and hearing about our organization’s work for kids, Brian, without a request, just made a donation on the spot. If we are ever in a «jam» in the future, I will be calling Brian.

Brian came out on a Saturday with very short notice, he was prompt, professional and courteous — and the rate was less than I’d thought it would be. I’ll use him again for sure!

Brian answered the phone and was at my house in 15 minutes. He quoted me a minimum over the phone and stuck to that price, even though it seemed like more work than he initial figured. He was friendly and helpful, and I would definitely use him again. I am a very happy customer.

I highly recommend Brian for whatever you need. Came over pretty quickly to re-​key my house. He got right to work, knows his stuff and is a friendly and decent guy with fair and honest prices. Don’t hesitate to call B&T Locksmith !

I shopped around on a Sunday afternoon– no other locksmith company was able to give me an up-​front quote, even though I was happy to send photos of the lock, and could describe the job in detail. Brian gave me a guaranteed quote to come out right away, and a lower cost for a Monday visit.
As this wasn’t urgent, I made an appointment for Monday, during business hours. Brian and Conan arrived right on schedule and resolved the issue quickly, skillfully and professionally. They are knowledgeable, affordable, honest, and Brian even charged me a little less than the initial quote.

We just moved into a new house & needed all the locks re-​keyed. Add to that, we hadn’t received all the keys from our realtor & were locked out. I called B & T at a friend’s recommendation. The quote was very reasonable compared to other locksmiths I called.
They arrived on time for our appointment & were friendly, polite & professional. We got into the house (which involved picking several locks more than anticipated) & opted to change a few locks/​door knobs completely, in addition to re-​keying the rest. They went to Home Depot for the new supplies & quickly returned to complete the job. The total price, even with the extra work, drive & replacement parts, was still less than I had been quoted by the other locksmiths!
I would happily call them again if needed, and definitely recommend them to others.

We locked ourselves out of our apartment in Berkeley at 15 minutes to 5pm. The other place we called was going to charge us extra for an after hours call. We called B&T and they gave us a fair price And made us another key just in case. They were friendly, honest and professional and got the Job done in no time.

Terrible rip-​off, the guy took 40 minutes to get to my place for a simple lock out and charged 50% more than other places we called. We were so tired and cold by the time they got there we felt we had no choice but to just pay and get back into our apartment. Well over $ 100 to wait 40 minutes and it took him less than 3 minutes to get the lock open. Do not use these guys there are MANY better options.
(btw) We asked for a quote up front but were only given a low figure that covered them coming out to our place and were told it would depend because all locks are different, then once they got there they tacked on the extra $ 90+ for 3 minutes of work.

Brian and Conan were very Very helpful! Called them in to fix our side door (busted locking mechanism) and Brian mcgyvered the damned thing instead of giving me the «we’ll order the parts and get back to you» line. Even asked for 1 sq inch of aluminum foil!
Got to our place shortly Before our appointment (which comparatively speaking, deserves a 6^th star just from this!), and was able to accommodate additional requests after they fixed the broken mechanism (re-​keyed 4 locks).
As I told them in parting, tho they’re one of the professions that I’d rather not call again (in the same context as lawyers, funeral directors, etc), I won’t hesitate to give them a ring if I ever needed their service again!

I wish I could give these guys 6 stars.
Just had to have all my locks changed and a couple of safes pried open (yes, you’re on the right track with where your head is going) — they felt for me and asked me if $X sounded fair.
I looked at them wide-​eyed and said that was ridiculous — that was nowhere near fair — nothing less than 150% of that sounded fair to me. I wouldn’t have batted an eye at 200% of what they first offered. I paid them the 150%
The nicest guys — I wish I could have had them stay for dinner.

B&T Locksmith are a family owned business and we couldn’t have asked for more!!! Last May we had just moved into our new house and were planning on changing the locks when the cylinder came out from our complicated European locks. It was a Saturday and most places we talked to were not available until Monday unless we wanted to pay a premium. Brian was very patient over the phone, asked us to send him pictures of the lock and advised us that we’d be safe for the night with the existing lock.
They came the next morning on a Sunday. They were on time with their appointment and found a cost effective solution for our complicated lock system by just replacing the cylinder. They even had the unique spare part on them. They were knowledgeable, professional and most importantly got the job done. Emergency avoided!!!

These guys were great! Same price as other local locksmiths to come out, and slightly cheaper key copies. Asked better questions for information I didn’t know to offer before giving me a quote over the phone. They were able to fit me in same day.
They were able to rekey and fix the improperly installed deadbolt and knob (the deadbolt wasn’t secure and they turned in opposite directions before). They also were able to replace the missing screw on the front door. All of that for no extra charge, just part of doing the job well.
They were also super friendly, had great home and car security advice, and even pointed out that I need to switch my outdoor lights to CFLs. Added bonus, it’s a local family operation. Brian and his son were wonderful.
Definitely will keep them in mind for any future needs.
