Our favorite campground to go in the summer because we can take the jet skiis out and camp! Rollins lake is big and perfect for jet ski riding. Especially with all the boats around and other jet skiers your bound to have lots of waves to run. The water is always so clean and clear. But beware the beach area is always packed on holiday weekends like the Fourth of July or Labor Day weekend, so remember to go early and claim a spot. The campgrounds are pretty spacious but aren’t that flat, so it takes awhile to find the perfect spot to pitch your tent up. The restrooms are pretty clean except for the one near the beach area because during the day it’s a mess because of the water and sand. The showers cost I think 25cent or a dollar but it’s hot water and lasts pretty long. The staff is are always friendly and they remember us when we come every year which is kind of cool. Overall this is a great place to ride jet skis and camp in the summer.

I brought my kids here for the day-use area only, so keep in mind that my interaction with the place was minor, that being said, we had the choice to go three different locations for day-use swimming and lakeside fun with the kids, and we came back here three times in a week. Unlike many other local reservoirs, the water level was high, and the easy access(close parking) to a nice clean beach made swimming easy for us. The beach was clean, the restrooms were clean, staff were present and accessible. We really enjoyed coming here and just sitting on the beach, paddling around in our kayaks, enjoying the sun and the clean water.

The area is pretty nice, but it’s not as remote as most campgrounds I’ve been to. You can hear the cars on the freeway several miles away at night, but it didn’t bother me as much as it bothered some other folks. The main complaint I have is that their web site is totally inaccurate. First, they say they sell fishing licenses. When I got there the clerk told me that no, they didn’t sell them. I would have had to go back into town to buy one. If their web site had been accurate I would have bought one before I went. The site also says they sell beer, but they don’t. It also said they rented boats, but when I was there(September 28) they were no longer renting boats for the season. Of course it didn’t say so on the site. There’s a bar and grill on site, but it is also closed(although they at least tell you this on the web site). Overall not a well-run camp ground. They have a lot of excuses for why things are not as they are advertised, but the bottom line is, they have control over the web site and it’s not that hard to change it to reflect changing conditions.

Campground is a large area. However the campsites are very close together. The lake view sites are noisy because they are close to the ramps and store. The upper lake view sites were not accessible. They were blocked off. When we went over the summer out was busy with a lot of people. The sites were kept clean and so was the bathrooms. I didn’t see sites that could easily accommodate those with special needs because just about all the sites were small in space. The staff was very nice and pleasant. Beach area was fun and clean. Although the boat ramp was too close.

I will be here this Labor Weekend 2011 camping out with my Family. It’s been a tradition since I was 11 years old. We’ve been coming to this campsite for many years now. Its one of my favorite camping spots & offers many amenities. A beautiful lake, jet-skiing, paddle boats, boating, swimming, volleyball court, general store & many more. The sky is so amazing at night. it’s almost as if you can grab a star(s) while gazing underneath the midnight sky. I can’t wait! Sun tan lotion & bikini here I come…

So here’s the deal, the campground use to be very nice and it was always a lot of fun. But never visit this campground during a 3 day weekend, you’ll be very disappointed. The campground caters to so called«Church Groups» and they make a mess of the place. It’s the most disgusting thing you’ll ever find camping. I tried writing to the Director and advising them of the craziness I experienced just so they knew what was going on and guess what? They never wrote back, so this tells me the management could care less. I’d give it a 3 even with the bad 3 day experience, but when management doesn’t even acknowledge a complaint, then I think that says it all.

Orchard Springs has everything you need for tent camping. The cabins are alright for the price. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We go to Orchards Springs a couple times a year and enjoy it every time. I would recommend Orchard Springs to all my camping friends!

Been going to Rollins Lake Resort for a few times now. Came here last month only because our jetski was sinking and the fellow boater was nice enough to drag us here. It is fairly nice here since getting in and out of the water seems a lot more easy. And the No Wake Zone is very short compared to Rollins. Only thing is that this area is not as nice for camping compared to Rollins.
