Jeff’s Appliance Service

After 2+ years of our ice dispenser not working on the refrigerator door we called Jeff. He showed up exactly when he said he would, identified the problem, order the necessary parts and returned, on time, within 48 hours and fixed the problem…$ 88, parts and labor. Obviously he is efficient, knowledgeable and easy on one’s pocketbook! Superb service!

I called in the early evening when I learned we were having washer problems. No one answered but I left a voice mail so that I could have someone call me back. When you’re in the appliance repair business, it’s a fairly safe bet that people will call you because they have a mini-​emergency. When your fridge, stove, or A/​C or even your washer is out, things get «uncomfortable» and «inconvenient» fast. OK, so no one was going to call me back after hours. That’s completely understandable. But I expected the courtesy of a return call the following morning. The morning came and went and I looked deeper into Unilocal and found SOS Appliance Service, who were highly recommended. I booked an appointment.
I don’t know anything about Jeff’s work. That’s why I’ll still give him a 2-​star rating. If you’re in this business, you HAVE TO be reachable. If you’re gone on vacation or out of town for some personal reason, leave a message to that affect. I called again at noon and got the same answering machine.

I called Jeff’s Appliance Service to have them fix my dryer.
He came out that same day, got there within the time slot they promised. and. got my dryer working in the same visit. He even vacuumed my dryer out and explained how the problem occurred so I wouldn’t make the same mistake again.
He has a pleasant demeaner and was very professional.
The woman who took my call was also helpful and professional.

This guy is used by the company that manages the condo I live in. The repair he supposedly performed (oven thermometer, per his diagnosis) didn’t happen and the customer service was the worst I have ever had from a mobile repairman. The owner and only employee, Jeff, was short and rude from the beginning.
For example, when he went out to his truck for some more tools, I told him I had a cat that cannot go outside due to an injury, so I would have to be there as Jeff went in and out, as the cat tries to run out and is sneaky about it. I was going to tell him that I would put the cat in a room as soon as I caught him, but before I had a chance, Jeff replied, «Why?! I can close a door!» and with that he stormed out. I waited by the front door to let him back in and he tried to reach around me and open the door. I stepped in front of him and asked him if there was a problem. He replied, «No, I’m just in a hurry and think it’s stupid for you to open the door every time I have to go to my truck.» Once again, I explained about the cat and he yelled at me, «I don’t care. I’m in a hurry. Now let’s go!»
Long story short, I needed the oven repaired, so I just let it go but there is no way I would ever recommend this guy to anyone. Perhaps he had a really bad day (or life), but that is no excuse to talk to your customers in that way or with that tone. And to top it off, the oven still doesn’t work properly!
I do like to support small and local businesses, but not incompetence in any form. Choose someone else for your small appliance repair needs and save yourself the headache and insults.

Jeff is great, he fixed my washer and was very reasonable. Plus he’s a local and when you call you get to talk to him or his wife.
