All Around Van Lines

The worst move ever! Total fraud. It was all subcontracted to independent, non equipment owners, freelancers, who had no clue. The insurance was a debacle and nearly everything of value was destroyed. They wrapped lampshades while one the floor lamp! They lost the feet to all the couches. Broke the legs off of tables. Shattered china, glassware and threw fragile boxes around or stacked heavier stuff on them. Absolute idiots! WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I needed a long distance move done from Chicago to North Carolina and these guys were on point. They worked very efficiently and carried things on their backs that I did not think we’re possible. I was a bit apprehensive about the whole thing, worrying that it may be a logistical nightmare, but I was caught off guard by how smooth the whole process ended up being.

Is it possible to give these people a negative star? I have moved a lot in my life and have used different moving companies. These people are by far the worst. Trust me and do yourself a favor. Never use their service. I used them for my long distance move. By the end of the move I paid twice more than the amount agreed for. They are very sweet until the moving day. They will start charging you for every single thing. They use different companies to pickup and drop. Even though they promise that they are all same company. I really have not written bad reviews for anybody. But I feel that I should be responsible and caution others about these people. I would never ever ever use these people for a move,

I recently moved from Chicago to NYC and had no problems whatsoever. I’ve used moving companies before and had to deal with a lot of hassle and headaches but thankfully I was pleasantly surprised that this was a pain free process and the movers were actually nice guys. Recommended for sure.

I’d like to give 0 stars, but at least the furniture got to the destination. Where to begin? Arranging a delivery date with the sub contractor was very difficult. After we were told it would take up to 10 days to get there, the subcontractor called to deliver it before we arrived in the destination. We explained that it is a building that has specific dates and times for deliveries. To make a long story short, the subcontractor said he could not deliver any of the days we requested, even though he was in the general area. Finally he said for an additional $ 500. he could. When the furniture finally was delivered, a wall unit was broken, a ladder was missing, and the largest box of items and clothes was also missing. After going through an insurance claim process, the claim was denied, even though it was for minimal value.
STAY AWAY FROM ALL AROUND !!!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. All Around Van line is composed of crooks. The wills swindle you out of your money and refuse your calls until delivery day. I pray that the BBB shuts them down! Do not use them for anything. They lie about having the best prices but tack fees after your deposit. The are the worst company ever and they do not respect their customers.

No Accountability
* 3 moving companies were involved: 1 to move to a warehouse, 1 to move to a truck, 1 to move to the new place
* Question: «What happened to my bookshelf?» Answer: «I don’t know. One of the other guys didn’t pack it right.»
* One mover to another: «Dude, why do you care? We’re never going to see these people again anyway.»
Damaged Furniture
* Bookshelf destroyed
* Dresser scratched
* Computer desk broken
* Fragile boxes crushed
* A claim was sent at the end of July, I’m still waiting…
Moving Cost was Double the Estimate
* The moving cost kept going up: from pick up to drop off
* An actual tape measure was used to calculate distance from truck to apartment (and they rounded up)
* They refused to move my stuff in until they received the price difference – my possessions were held hostage
«You guys have too many boxes.»
* An actual quote: my wife & I were made to feel embarrassed by how much stuff we had them move
* This fact was brought up multiple times as they repeatedly stacked 5 – 6 boxes on boxes labeled FRAGILE

My move through All Around Van Lines was subcontracted to Olympia. The pick up experience was excellent in Chicago. Three man crew who worked fast and I thought handled everything well.
The delivery to Texas… a whole much different story. I was not given 24 hour notice of the delivery, as promised. Once I was finally able to coordinate with the driver, he pulled the truck in and started unloading. I was told 2 local subcontracted movers would come help him unload. The subcontractors never showed up! I had to help the one guy unload and assemble my furniture. This is not the deal I paid for! I will say, the one guy who was there was excellent. I felt sorry he had to do so much solo.
The icing on the cake– my plasma TV was broken (not repairable panel damage), along with damage to a bookshelf and a frame. Oh, and a lost box of kitchen supplies.
And how do I make a claim for this damage? Oh, that process is also contracted out to a third party vendor. This will be fun!

Don’t do it! Actually I don’t know — my first time having to move across several states, I hope not all moving companies are like them.
I moved from Chicago to Denver. They were really nice at first– really responsive but OMG after that, literally a nightmare
I’m not going to go into too much detail about the ordeal — b/​c I know you don’t want to read about it but we did file a formal complaint with the attorney general.
In short, just incredibly poor communication and follow up and apparently no one talks to each other in the company. I had to call 4 different numbers to find a real person to talk to. I asked to speak with a manager and no could give me a number — only emails. Only after I said I would notify police of our stolen personal items if I did not get a response from them — did we get a phone call and an email.
They then attempted to charge us an extra $ 350 for something — but luckily I was able to argue out of that.
When they did finally deliver our items, my roommate had to call the Denver POLICE b/​c she didn’t feel comfortable being alone with the movers!
Just awful!

This company does not even deserve one star! They were unprofessional, damaged my furniture, and did not show up when they said. Worse than that, I asked the guy, Joe, to take a bin off the truck which belonged to me, and went back upstairs. He failed to do so and now the item is LOST! Their third party claim wouldn’t even pay me for the loss, and only did a fraction for a desk which was rendered unusable due to a broken leg. NEVER use this company! The best bet is UHaul it or check extensive reviews prior to selecting a mover!

All Around Van Lines (AAVL) moved friends of mine from Minnesota to Pennsylvania. My friend contacted this so called PROFESSIONAL outfit, The AAVL sales person said it would take A TRUCK AND 3 GUYS ABOUT 2 HOURS TO LOAD AND ABOUT 2 HOURS TO UNLOAD, AND COST $ 2400.00 AND TAKE 2 — 4 BUSINESS DAYS TO GET THEIR STUFF MOVED TO PA. When my friend’s husband made the arrangements he told the salesperson that they might have a couple extra boxes that he did not inventory at the time. The sales person said there wouldn’t be any extra charge. WRONG…
Long story short we had moved my friend’s stuff from their home to a friend’s basement to store for a month until they could move in at Pa. Used a PROFESSIONAL local mover, it took a truck, 2 men and 3 hours to load, drive and unload.
On the pickup day (June 28) AAVL told my friend’s wife that they would be there to pick their stuff up between 2 & 5 PM. AAVL showed up around 3:00 (OK). The so called PROFESSIONAL movers argued that the stuff would not fit in their truck. My friend called the AAVL office and a second truck was dispatched. It arrived around 6:30. My friends had four small boxes and a stroller that was not on the inventory, the movers said it would cost an extra $ 2500.00 to move it. The so called PROFESSIONAL movers of the 2 trucks argued for a half an hour about loading the stuff before even lifting a finger to move my friends stuff onto the trucks. It took 6 guys (arguing the whole time) 4 hours to load the stuff that was already in boxes. (11:30 PM). Which at that time the movers told my friends it will take 10 — 15 business days to move their stuff to Pa. That AAVL would notify my friends 24 hours before delivery of their stuff in PA. Side note, AAVL failed to load 2 boxes that were on the inventory.
Ok it’s an 18 hour trip from Minnesota to Pennsylvania. That’s 3 (6 hour days). Why the hell does it takes 15 days? I don’t know.
So my friends have been living in their new home for 21 days with out there stuff. They only cloths they had were in their suitcases and the portable crib for their son. My friend is 8 months pregnant and had to sleep on an air mattress which didn’t work out for her so they had to buy a new bed.
21 days later (June 20) at 2:30 pm on a Sunday, AAVL called that they were going to deliver my friends stuff between 8:00am — 12:00pm the next day. AAVL told my friends they would have pay AAVL in cash or a postal check before the movers would unload their stuff.
AAVL showed up at 11:55. The Driver of the truck said do you have the $ 2500.00. I can’t do anything until I’m paid. My friend paid him. While backing up their truck to where they were going to unload the driver hit a parked car. At that point the driver told my friend that he wasn’t going to try to get any closer to his house so it was going to cost him more money. My friend told him he had already paid almost $ 5000.00 to move and was not going to pay anymore.
AAVL sent 2 guys, a driver and a helper. The driver refused to help unload the truck, so my friend had to help the other guy unload the truck.
Two of their bookshelves had been destroyed. A desk had a hole in it. The coffee table was splintered. Boxes that were marked as «fragile» which had glassware and dishes were crushed and bent, most of the contents broken. Three boxes of books had come unpacked and spilled onto the pavement.
AND THEY CALL THEMSELVES A PROFESSIONAL MOVING COMPANY! THEY ARE NOTHING MORE THAN A BUNCH OF RIP-​OFF ARTISTS. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
I took vacation to help my friends move to Pennsylvania. I drove one of their cars out for them. I was going to help them move their stuff into their new home, but thanks to AAVL that didn’t happen! So now my friends (one who is 8 months pregnant) had to do it themselves.
PS: My friends are my daughter and her husband.
