When Micah Gilmore says, «Our homes are a haven,» believe him. The owner of Phoenix Energy Solutions knows a thing or two about homes – over the course of his life, he’s lived in quite a few.

The Fair Oaks native was raised in the Sacramento area, moved to Brooklyn for some years, met his wife in England, returned to Sacramento, tied the knot in Pacific Grove, moved to Santa Cruz with his new bride and, seven years ago, settled back in Sacramento to welcome his first child. Which just goes to show that Gilmore knows just how important a cozy home – no matter where it is – can be.

This company is as good as it gets. Micah is so professional, courteous and honest. He came recommended to me by my realtor because he does good work and is trustworthy. She was right about him. Jesse and David were wonderful to work with as well. Very caring and thorough.
My only source of heat, a gas stove insert, stopped working and left my 2 children and I without anything but a couple of space heaters for heat when it was in the 30s and 40s outside. I called Micah and he immediately got me scheduled and helped me with financing as well, all in record time. We now have a nice, cozy, warm house with a top of the line furnace that is going to save me a lot of money each month on propane.
I appreciate everything Micah and his crew did for me and my children. I enjoyed working with them immensely.
If you want excellent service, honesty, and a good price, go with Phoenix Energy Solutions. I checked out other companies and they could not beat what Micah quoted me.

I got a complete HVAC unit installed by this company in the summer. Last week I turned on my heater for the first time and got no heat. Needless to say I was a little bit upset that a brand new system would have an issue. However Jason the technician was very helpful and took care of the issue right away. I felt a little guilty that I had snapped at him in my voicemail message. The way he took care of it was top notch in customer service. I am glad they are servicing my HVAC in the future. A class act company!

I had no idea who to call when my air conditioner decided to go out when it was 108 degrees out. So I checked Unilocal.Something I rarely do. everyone seemed happy with Phoenix. So gave them a call. Received excellent service from Jason. Both my husband and I felt he was very knowledgeable, and complimented our big personalities… We were Very comfortable with him. It was diagnosed in a matter of minutes. And fixed. It was relayed to him to give me their 15% discount, and I did not have to go there., the cost was very reasonable. It was fantastic news for us and plan on doing their maintenance plan on my heater and a.c. In the near future.. Thank you Phoenix for the A+ service.

I work from home and typically have a few computers running at the same time. Needless to say, it get HOT in my 180 ft office. We decided to a mini split would be the be the best solution. We contacted a bunch of HVAC contractors and ultimately decided on Phoenix Energy because of Micah. He was real straightforward and gave us a quote on the spot. WHAT A GOOD DECISION.
Micah was able to work with our budget and our time frame for install, and contacted prior to confrim. We liked that.
Day of install, Jason showed up super nice and accommodating. He was able to get the majority the install done early in the day. He was very respectful of my working while the install was going on and super communicative. A great representative of the company and general all around nice guy.
These things alone would have been enough to merit 5 stars, however later on in the afternoon as they were finishing up and me and my wife were going outside to inspect, Micah mentioned almost nonchalantly, that they discontinued the model we selected so he upgraded us the newest, best model on the market free of charge.
These guys are great, fair and really look out for the customer’s interest. Thanks guys. You’ve gained a customer for life.

I had a problem with a warranty company that would not back me up with an approved contractor to fix a busted water heater. Long story short Phoenix took great care of me and went out of their way to work with my warranty company to remedy the problem even though they were not a contractor on my warranty companies list. The tech that came out, Jesse was very professional and knowledgeable. He was sooo fast and quiet we did not even notice he was there and was done before we knew it. I will recommend and use phoenix for all my mech. needs in the future.

Last night just before I crawled into bed I noticed that my house seemed to be freezing cold. I went to turn on my thermostat and to my dismay, it was already on. The temperature read 59 degrees.
This morning when I woke up after a night of freezing toes and fingers, I decided to look for a company that could repair my heater. I browsed Unilocal to find a company with good reviews, and there were many people singing the praises of Phoenix Energy Solutions so I decided to give them a call.
I received a prompt response and was told that there was availability for someone to come out today, at the exact time I needed. Shortly after our agreed upon time Jesse showed up to my house with a friendly can-​do attitude. He was polite and respectful and made sure that I was well-​informed about the state of my furnace, and what needed to be done to get it working again. He worked quickly and effectively on replacing my furnace ignitor, and then went on to check my ductwork and distribution of heat throughout my house.
I am very pleased with my interaction with Phoenix Energy Solutions and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of HVAC repairs. When I need more work done this will be the first call I make.

We decided to have our AC unit evaluated and possibly replaced. Sadly, Micah was not available or no longer employed because the Phoenix rep on the telephone wouldn’t take a message for Micah to call me back. Weird. Then, she sent a Phoenix rep out to me & made a mistake of informing me about a free estimate. The Phoenix technician informed that there was a $ 120 estimate charge. I had to turn him away. Poor guy showed up for nothing. Nevertheless, he was kind.

I signed up for their yearly maintenance plan back in 2013 because of my first experience with Phoenix Energy Solutions,. I have not been disappointed in their services ever since I first started using them for my AC and heating systems in my home.
I just had my annual furnace inspection today with one of their technicians, Jesse, and the great service prompted me to write an follow on review. All of the maintenance inspections since have been great since signing up with Phoenix back in 2013 have been great. The service personnel have always shown up on time and they are friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and honest. Today’s maintenance service was no exception and I was very impressed with the Jesse’s professionalism and his friendly demeanor and attitude. He showed up on time, put some shoe covers on to avoid getting the carpet dirty, proceeded to the attic to inspect the furnace, cleaned the filter, checked the outputs from the vents, presented me with the results of the inspection and recommendations, and answered questions that I had. One thing that I really appreciate about all the maintenance inspections I’ve had with Phoenix is that the technicians are honest and don’t try to sell me on services. If you need/​want your AC or furnace inspected, I highly recommend them.

We had Phoenix come out to provide a second opinion on why our furnace wasn’t working. Within the first 10 minutes, Jason was able to determine the cause and have a temporary fix in place until we could get the unit fully repaired. As it happens, we only had to wait a day before parts were delivered and installed by Jesse.
We enjoyed the fast and competent service of the repair so much, we signed up for their Energy Savings Agreement (a bi-​annual check-​up that includes basic maintenance and checks to make sure everything is working properly.)
We highly recommend Phoenix for maintenance /​upkeep of your HVAC system!

We hired Phoenix Energy Solutions to relocate our AC unit, tune it up, and install a new thermostat. The price they quoted was reasonable, they showed up on time, and cleaned up well before they left. I am very happy with the work and service they provided. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them or use them again.

We had Phoenix come out last year and clean our furnace (with a deal to inspect our AC in the spring). Richard was the tech and did a very good job explaining what he was doing. He also noticed our air return in the house was too small for the unit (something that was done before we purchased the house) and suggested we replace it. The total cost was under $ 400. When they inspected our AC last month, we had them replace the air return. The tech (forgot his name) was friendly and easily installed the larger return. Now the system runs quietly with increased air flow — all because Richard took the time to inspect the ENTIRE system including checking out duct work in the attic. Something our prior HVAC tech did not do. We recommend this company.

We had our heating and air conditioning system replaced by Phoenix Energy Solutions last year and couldn’t be more pleased with the work they did and the quality system they installed. Micah was a pleasure to work with in selecting what would work best for our situation and options for financing. His installers were courteous and professional. They explained the process, issues and resolutions as they went along. The system works great, the installation is sound and looks good, and we are now comfortable both summer and winter.
When my daughter’s AC system failed at her house the first place we called was Phoenix.

We just finished having a mini split system installed in our bedroom, master bath area. This company couldn’t have done anything better for us IMO.
This was a difficult install because we were putting the air handler in the attic and running ducts to 4 registrars. We had replaced our 20 yr old HVAC system in 2011. We were replacing it because it was old and because we were «guaranteed» our comfort level in the upstairs master bedroom/​bathroom. These rooms had always run much hotter than the rest of the house with air on since 2003 when we bought the house. The company that did the new system did not back up their guarantee. They came back to our house 4 times basically just closing dampers and adjusting registers. On the final time they reccomended $ 3600 of duct work — this 10 mos after they had installed the new HVAC. I threw them out of the house at that point.
My wife researched solutions and thought a mini split would work. We had 3 bids, Phoenix’s bid was right in line with another company that bid and the third company was almost 3K higher. We saw the reviews for Phoenix and went with them.
They got the parts in within a week and had two installers out on a Friday. The work looks great, they kept our house clean, used tarps etc. They got the unit operational by 4 PM and turned it on – IT WAS HEAVEN, the 2 rooms on the new system cooled down in about 10 minutes.
They fixed some duct work for us for $ 800 vs $ 3600 and the change in air distribution from the main HVAC is amazing. I firmly believe that we will save money on air this summer because the system is much more efficient and we will probably need to run it less.
Would heartily reccomend this company, I will probably use them to do solar heating for my pool in 2016 I hope.

Our old AC died a violent, ugly death after a long run of particularly hot weather. So, I looked at Unilocal and the list of SMUD contractors to arrange estimates and see what it would cost to install a completely new system. Micah was very professional, friendly and helpful, even letting me know about SMUD’s pre approval program to help speed the process along.
The guys who installed the new system were very friendly and professional on a very hot day indoors without AC. They hit an unexpected snag putting in our new line that set them behind by a couple of hours and we had evening plans that prevented them from staying late and finishing up the job that day (otherwise I think they would have), so Micah and another guy showed up the next morning and wrapped everything up in a couple of hours. The new system works fabulously and we are quite happy with it and the service that we received.
My only complaint is that they had to cut some holes in the ceiling to guide in the new system and it might take a little bit to get those patched by their drywall guy. I think they are crazy busy right now (and probably their drywall guy is, too), so it’s understandable. I just don’t like not knowing exactly when that will be repaired because it makes it hard to plan my week.
Editing my earlier review – they returned my call and we scheduled an appointment to get the drywall patched. Micah showed up on time, did a great job with the drywall, and wrapped up the job well. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs to have their AC worked on. We will be calling them again in the future when we need help with our AC.
