My wife Heidi & I did the research on DJ Services in the area for our wedding as many of you are. We looked into almost all of our options. When we met DJ Eli Freshmode it was a «no brainer» that he was exactly what we were looking for in regards to our wedding entertainment. Eli is the most personable and friendly guy I’ve ever met. Very easy accommodating to work with and plan out what exactly you want to hear during your event.
My wife wanted to let Eli pick most of the playlist throughout the evening and I was totally ok with that for his taste in music is very refined & dynamic. But there were many specific songs I wanted to hear so I submitted him a list and he did a good job of playing genre specific tracks similar to the songs we selected.
He made announcements and call outs when appropriate but didn’t over speak because he knows people just want to Boogie.
Now that our wedding event has come and gone, I’d still consider DJ Eli Freshmode a friend. That’s just the kind of person you want to DJ your wedding or any other special event. Looking back on that evening I know he played a huge role in everyone having a blast at our wedding reception.

We did a lot of research in trying to find a good DJ for our wedding and had this list of criteria:
1. Similar taste in music as us
2. Not cheesy (No chicken dance or macarena!)
3. Willing to help with the ceremony & Day-​Of timeline
4. Willing to help make announcements to the crowd
5. Easy going & friendly
6. Able to get the crowd movin’ & grovin’ all night
7. Affordable
And Eli was able to meet this criteria & more! From our first meeting with him, we could tell instantly that he had impeccable taste in music and that he would be easy to work with. He was very friendly, had great style (cool old records!), gave us great timeline tips (without being pushy or trying to change things we had already planned), he was just all around awesome. After meeting Eli, we called off the search party because we found what we were looking for!
Throughout the whole wedding planning process, Eli was very accommodating and was willing to help make all the music we wanted go exactly the way we planned. He was able to edit some clips for us for our Grand Entrance and play the music at the right time for the correct duration. We made him some sample playlists for the cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing portion of the reception and he took those songs and added more stylistically similar ones and made fabulous playlists that perfectly fit the wedding events and theme. Multiple guests commented on how good the music was during the night!
He also provided microphones (handheld & clips) and microphone stands, which were needed because we had a live singer & ukulele player for the ceremony. He worked really well with them, even meeting early with them for the sound check. You could tell that this man knew what he was doing and did everything he could to help make the wedding perfect. He’s dedicated to his craft and he does it well!

Eli was a FABULOUS DJ for our wedding in Tahoe this summer.
I didn’t consider myself a bridezilla during our wedding planning. That said, music choice and implementation was a very important part of our wedding, and DJ Eli made it happen according to plan. While living in San Francisco and doing some last minute planning, connecting with Eli in Sacramento was super easy. I found him through Unilocal and these excellent reviews. Eli was quick to respond to my first inquiry and then my husband and I met with him by Skype. From there, communication continued to be solid, through phone and email, up to the day of the wedding. We found out last minute that our wedding venue was not going to supply amplification or a mic during the ceremony, and DJ Eli graciously swept in and saved the day.
DJ Eli played music pre-​ceremony, then connected our musician-​friends with amplification for the ceremony, then made it down the mountain (where the ceremony was held) to the bottom of the mountain to play music for the cocktail hour. .. I was so impressed with his ability to weave in and out through our favorite musicians and songs and he very strictly did NOT play any of the songs or genres from our extensive no-​play/​hate list. Next, Eli kept it going through dinner, then got everyone onto the dance floor for the Hora, and kept SO many friends and family of all ages on the dance floor through midnight and a bit beyond as the crowd chanted, «one more song, one more song».
I had a blast at the wedding, and no doubt, much of the joy was made possible by DJ Eli’s excellent skills, warm personality, and energetic presence. Thank you, Eli! I think this is only my second Unilocal review. .. I will be recommending you to friends and if we ever have the need for a DJ again, we hope you’ll still be doing your thing!

We hired Eli for our daughter’s wedding reception this past weekend and we haven’t stopped talking about how great he was!!! Having the right DJ makes such a difference in the mood of a wedding reception… and Eli nailed it. He was helpful, friendly, patient, fun… I could go on and on. He met with our daughter and son-​in-​law to discuss what they wanted… he made great suggestions and just made the event wonderful. He shows up on time, kept us on schedule and was a calm presence for a frazzled mother of the bride! We’ve been to two other weddings this summer and the DJ’s there were on the boring side… there was no comparison to Eli! If you are looking for a DJ, look no further… you have found him!

We met with Eli months before our wedding over beers in downtown Sac. We had just done a bunch of wedding stuff so we had a gaggle of family with us. Every single one of my family members who met him, loved him! He was easy to talk to, really listened and asked us questions about what kind of music we liked/​wanted to hear at the wedding. he was casual, sincere and pretty cool guy. We knew after that meeting we had to have him!
Fast forward months later and we are a month out from the wedding! Eli was so helpful and insightful when my fiancée and I had questions on how things would go, be run and answered all my logistical (frantic, crazy bride) questions with patience and understanding!
Day of wedding: Everything went down without a hitch (or so I think, no one told me otherwise! ha ;)) Eli hit everything musical request we had, set up our acoustic musician perfectly and made the day run SO, SO smoothly!
I had so many of our wedding guests come up to us and ask who our DJ was and tell us how amazing he made the entire day and dancing portions of the night!
We could not be more happy having chose Eli to DJ our big day and would recommend him to anyone! Do yourself a favor and book this guy, immediately!

I have been to A LOT of weddings, and DJ Eli is the absolute best wedding DJ I have ever seen by a mile and a half. I’m beyond happy that we booked him for our wedding.
He was clear, helpful, efficient, intuitive, and most importantly, fun! I can’t tell you how many people came up to me and my husband to ask where we found such a fantastic DJ. I even got a text from a wedding guest asking for DJ Eli’s info to recommend him to a friend.

DJ Eli Freshmode is the man! We had an outdoor wedding in Tahoe and he brought his A-​game to say the least.
From the moment we skype’d with him (prefers to meet in person but we don’t live in Sac anymore…) we knew that he was extremely passionate about music and for watching people have a good time on the dance floor. He got to the site way early to set up, greeted us with hugs and a big smile, and didn’t stop smiling until the night was over.
In terms of music, he brought tons of vinyl records, a great touch that set the right mood from the get-​go. We had a song list and and got to hear them all plus crowd requests and a few gems of his own. The dance floor was packed the entire night, and everyone kept telling us that he was the best DJ they’d ever heard at a wedding. All of this for the most affordable price we could find by far.
Not only was the music amazing, but he is truly an awesome guy: kind, genuine, fun, great energy, etc… We randomly saw him in Sacramento a couple months after the wedding and he gave us big hugs (again) and wanted to hear about how things have been going since the wedding. Such an awesome dude, cannot recommend enough!

Dj Eli Fresh did our wedding last October… and he was amazing! Multiple people expressed to me that he was the best dj they have every seen and I totally agree! He knew how to set the changing vibes of the night with the music and managed to capture exactly what we had requested. He handled everything that was thrown at him including request and playing a horrible rap written by the groom and groomsman. He ended the night perfectly with the absolute perfect song for us that had everyone dancing in this giant circle/​group hug thing. It was awsome! He took the time to fugue out what we wanted and he totally delivered it!

I needed a DJ for my wedding reception so I turned to Unilocal and Elliot’s reviews caught my eye. Nothing but great reviews. I was like great reviews, probably totally expensive. Boy, was I wrong! My parents had a friend who was going to DJ my reception who would have charged us more! My now husband, and I live in Utah and were planning a wedding in Sacramento. It was totally fine because Elliot just skyped us to get to know us and our music tastes. It was really great and really easy. He kept in contact with us basically up until our wedding day. He also kept in contact with my mom who did most of my wedding planning and he had the chance to go out to our venue and check it out. He is super easy going and will play whatever you want him to. With getting to know your music tastes, he will also play other music that you wouldn’t even think of and it fits perfectly with the event as well as your music taste! (We are huge disney fans and he played this cute cover of «kiss the girl» by colbie calliat and now its kind of like… our wedding song haha) He will take your guests crazy (but awesome) requests and knows how to keep the energy going. He is a great MC as well, and was so incredibly flexible because my reception had no schedule whatsoever and he knew just what to say, how to say it, and when to say it. My reception was so much fun and many people told me and my husband how great the music was. (even with all the disney songs my in-​laws requested! haha) Let me just say, your search has ended. You have found your DJ. :)

I highly recommend using DJ Eli FreshMode for any and all events. The first thing you will notice about him is that he is super friendly and outgoing. He seemed genuinely excited to Dj our wedding and made every effort to know exactly what we envisioned our Dj experience to be like. Shortly after speaking over the phone, my fiancée and I were able to meet with him in person over a beer and started forming our ideal wedding playlist. In our case we had a general sense of what mood of music we wanted played during what times and DJ Eli was able to deliver exactly what we wanted. On top of that Dj Eli FreshMode was extremely professional by returning all phone calls promptly and arriving on time to our meetings as well as the actual event. Mr. Freshmode recently graced my wedding with his wonderful music selection. I honestly cannot recommend any other DJ over Eli Freshmode. He was like the Pied Piper of the dance floor, leading our wedding guests into dancing bliss. We hired DJ Eli Freshmode for our wedding and he was awesome! Totally legit. He was great from the the get go– totally responsive from the beginning when I was just making an inquiry up until the wedding, and I cannot emphasize enough how great that is given all the stress and planning and other crap that comes along with wedding planning. He is very personable, listens to your suggestions, and makes suggestions of his own that are really helpful as well. I had a hard time choosing processional music for the wedding and he was able to recommend a few songs for me, days before the wedding. His music definitely got the party going! We loved it! My only regret is that everything went by so fast during the wedding that I’m not even sure we tipped enough :/​i definitely recommend.

Eli stayed in contact with me up to the day of our party… he showed up early & had everything set up and ready to go with time to spare.
He played all of the music we requested and improvised and added songs that we couldn’t have chosen better ourselves!
Everyone was on the dance floor all night.

Well… I can’t even begin to tell you how gifted Elliot is at feeling the energy of a crowd and giving them just what they need to keep on dancing. We have been hearing how epic our wedding was, ever since Eli Freshmode DJ’d. Best choice we ever made while planning for our wedding!!!
During planning, Eli was very accommodating. He even met with us over skype (as we were planning a wedding from Boston). Once we arrived back in Sacramento, he met with us in person to get a feel for what we wanted to hear and what kind of guests we were expecting.

Eli was a delight to work with. I am an event planner and I had the privilege of working with him at a wedding in June. He was professional, friendly and had a fantastic selection of music (including vinyl!). He helped make the event run smooth by filling in any gaps with music, making various announcements and MCing the event all night. He kept the party going and everyone had a blast! Thanks Eli!

DJ Eli is amazing! He DJ’d our wedding a couple weeks ago and kept people dancing all night long. He mic’d our ceremony, MC’d our reception, and played music during the cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing, and everything went perfectly. DJ Eli did a wonderful job picking out just the right songs for each point in the evening, setting a relaxed tone for dinner and upbeat songs of every genre for dancing. He’s also such a relaxed, professional, and fun guy to be around. Our friends are still talking about what a great party it was and how much fun they had on the dance floor. I would highly recommend DJ Eli for any event.

Eli’s the best! He dj’ed at our 40^th year class reunion. Eli’s a young guy and it amazed me how well he knew our 70’s music. He did an excellent job of the flow of the evening. He knows how to play cocktail music, dinner music and dancing music. Eli had us up and dancing like crazy — which is a feat when we’re 40 years out of high school.
People stayed until midnight — which would not have happened without his great tunes. One of the highlights of my evening was singing tunes at the very end with Eli and a few others. It shocked me that he knew the lyrics of the old 70’s tunes. What a blast!!!

Elliott was amazing! He DJed our wedding in August and we couldn’t have been happier. We made a playlist of songs we like on Grooveshark and shared it with him so he could get a feel for our vibe, then he showed up with crates and crates of vinyl. He played a mix of songs we asked for directly and his own picks he knew we would like. He played more downbeat songs during dinner and then totally kept the dancing going all night. He even stayed 30 minutes longer than we had contracted him for cuz we were having so much fun on the dance floor.
Elliott was fully responsive and trustworthy in all the pre-​wedding stuff … he drove a long way to come and check out our venue a few months before the wedding. He even lent us an extra speaker/​mic to use for the wedding ceremony which was way beyond the scope of his gig.
On top of it all, Elliott is just a sweetheart and someone you’d want at your wedding even if he didn’t have a job to do!
HIGHLY recommended! You will not be disappointed.

If I could give DJ Eli 10 stars, I would. He was absolutely amazing. He DJ’d for our wedding, and he took the event to a whole new level.
From the very beginning of our conversations, he was organized and knowledgeable. He gave us ideas and made sure to incorporate ours. He asked us for a list of our top songs, and made sure to play them at the perfect times — seriously, perfect times. He also understands how music can set a mood, and really created a welcoming, fun, and joyful evening from his personal song selections.
Everything was extremely well timed out with him. He played music that fit with the feel of the moment — pre-​ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner time, and dancing time. Everything flowed smoothly throughout the evening because of the tone he set.
We were initially thinking of not getting a DJ and simply using our iPod, but I am SOOO glad that we didn’t. DJ Eli made sure that everyone knew where to be at what times. He really managed the flow of the evening, and ensured that everyone was where they were supposed to be at the right time. He announced where the guest signing station was, and almost everyone who attended the wedding signed, he dismissed tables for dinner, helped with the speeches, brought everyone over for cake-​cutting and first dances… He really made sure to announce what was happening when — it was perfect.
He is a genuinely nice guy, has an amazing selection of music, and will hands down exceed your expectations. If you ever need a DJ, you have to go with him.
