History

Established in 1989.

Zach’s Catering began as the landmark Italian restaurant — Zach’s Café in Studio City, CA. In December 2013 we relocated to Burbank, CA after one of our two partners retired in order to continue our thriving catering business.

In 1980 I came out to California from the East Coast on Gold Wing motorcycle determined to become an entrepreneur. I worked my way up the ladder from host to owner of a restaurant within 10 years. My Italian American roots led me to an appreciation of fine Italian food that began with my grandmother’s home cooking. Today, Zach’s is famous for it’s 3 cheese mushroom lasagne.

Zach’s was our favorite Italian restaurant and we were heartbroken several years ago, when it closed. Fortunately, Matt continued to cater and the food is every bit as delicious as it was in the restaurant. I have used Zach’s Catering for a variety of functions, from parties of over 100 people to a small group of 10 people. The food is incredibly delicious; Matt and his staff are 100% dependable and flexible. Matt gives suggestions but certainly respects personal preferences. I just read that he is putting his country lasagna back on the catering menu. I had to «twist his arm» (not really… just had to ask him!) to prepare it for my last big party. Despite everyone loving the mushroom lasagna, our family says, «The country lasagna rocks!» It is pure pleasure working with Matt!

I used Zach’s for a school banquet on a friend’s rave reviews… I am SO glad that I did! Zach’s delivered, set up the food and came back and tore it all down and took it away (even thinking to bring take home containers which I thought was brilliant!). And the food? Amazing! All the guests were asking where it came from! I would highly recommend Zach’s catering if you are looking for reasonably priced, yummy food and fantastic service! Thanks for helping make our banquet a success Matt!!!

I really enjoy working with Zach’s Catering and find them to be dependable
& consistent.
I am a medical sales rep who is constantly doing lunch meetings and events for work so I can say with experience that Zach’s is the real deal!
My offices are always extremely impressed with Zach’s food. It tastes home made and fresh. His garlic rolls are famous now! I get praised by my offices for the food quality/​options and everyone is alway happy!

The owner Matt is so nice and assured me that he could handle the order and delivery. It was delivered on time and exactly what I ordered. The sandwich trays and salads were fresh and delicious. The setups provided were the perfect amount for what I ordered. I can’t wait to order again and try something else on the menu… always making sure I order the garlic cheese rolls to go with it.

I have used Zach’s for the last 11 yrs to cater my lunches. My offices are always so impressed with the delivery person as well as the food. The delivery person always wash their hands before setting up the food. My guests always love the food. I have never had any issues staying within my budget. It’s so great to have a quality caterer that brings desserts and beverages, does all of the set up and has never been late in 11 yrs! Thank you Zach’s!

Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God! Try the Mushroom and Cheese Lasagna! I thought I had Christmas in my mouth. I love meat lasagna, and vegetable lasagna is pretty good too but this is one of the best lasagnas I’ve ever had. That includes the ones I’ve had in Rome, Italy.
I can’t wait to try more of Zach’s food. It truly is incredible!
