Rocky’s Stump Removal

Our tree was destroyed during the 2015 Memorial weekend flood. We had the tree removed, but never the stump. After calling numerous companies, which were all too busy to bother, we contacted Rocky’s. He got with us the same day, removed the stump and was very reasonable. We highly recommend this company.

Rocky’s awesome. We had a ~12″ stump we needed to get rid of, and I think it took him less than a minute between starting up his machine and us having a 5″-deep hole in the ground where the stump used to be. If we ever have the need to rid ourselves of some more stumps, Rocky’s going to be the first person we call.

Rocky was great to work with. He promptly returned my call, arrived when he said he would, and made quick work of removing the tree stump with his cleverly designed machine.

He answered all of our questions, was very knowledgeable, and charged a very fair price. We will definitely use him again should we ever have another tree stump in need of grinding.

This is a good business! Rocky answered my call on a Friday, gave me a ballpark estimate and said I would be third on his list on Monday.
He called Monday morning to confirm and said he was on his way and would be there in a half an hour. When he arrived he looked at my three stumps and we agreed on a price and he started the job.
He took care not to damage any other plants or break windows in the vicinity of the stumps. He was done quickly and went on his way. He was very professional and personable. He is truly customer service oriented and has been removing stumps in the Austin area for over 20 years.

He answered his own phone and told me his rate. We set an appt and he came out and gave a quote. We agreed on the price and he went to work. He showed up on time, did a great job and left. Simple

Rocky’s was great! He wasn’t sure if he could get his machine down our sloped sidewalk, but he went slowly and maneuver around a bit and made it through the gate. I think he grounded down the stump in less than 5 minutes! It mulched it up and he pushed the mulched back down the 5 – 6 inch hole. Such a pleasure to work with! He’ll be my first call if I need another one done!

Rocky is one of the few profiting from the drought. So many trees to cut, so little time. He answered his phone on a Saturday, came on time on the following Thursday, used his magic machine on the stump, and was gone. I’m sad anyone profits from trees dying, but he seems like a nice enough soul to somehow balance it all out.

I must have received about 10 different quotes to remove my tree stump and Rocky was not the cheapest, but was near the bottom. I decided to go with him because of his tractor, called Umfta (i think?) She is a powerful one! I had a huge old mulberry that must’ve span about 40″ in diameter with exposed roots all over the yard. In a little over an hour, the tree and its roots were all but a memory.
As far a Rocky goes, he’s reliable, punctual, fair, and an overall, mighty nice guy. I would use his services again and would recommend him to anyone.

Had a big tree taking over our tiny front yard — roots everywhere — a real horror show. I say «had» because the combined efforts of my husband and friends felled the tree, but the removal of the stump proved to be more difficult than we imagined. Enter Rocky. I called him at 10:30 yesterday morning. He had a job nearby so was able to come same day– at 1:30 he set to work grinding the stump and at 1:34 he was finished.
Best 163 $ I could have possibly spent, and we’re left with a big pile of great mulch!

Rocky was a pleasure to work with… friendly, funny, timely and reasonably priced. He came out the day I called to price the stump and was here the next morning to grind it down. It took him about 10 minutes and he left me with a great pile of mulch to use on my other ailing trees.

Until I bought my house I had never thought about having to remove a stump from a yard. based on reviews I called Rocky. He showed up at the scheduled time and it only took about 15 min. He was nice and personable and I would recommend him to anyone needing his help. Price was a lot lower than I expected too.

I have used Rocky for stump removal 3 times. Once to obliterate some dying Photonias alone a fence line. I was impressed that he was able to remove these without damaging the fence (we removed a few boards but still.) I considered renting a stump grinder from sunbelt rentals, home depot, etc. Rocky charged me only $ 75 and all I had to do was watch. Just watching a stump disappear in 15 mins is well worth the price of admisssion. The last time we used Rocky to remove 7 scrub trees in various locations around the yard. It was great since I only had to cut the trees down to about 12″ above ground (saves your chain not hitting dirt.) Still only 45 mins later the trees were a memory. Rocky is the stump grinding master!

Rocky has done tree stump removal for me twice. He has a big stump grinding tool that reduces the stump to mulch (I reuse the mulch for gardening projects). His prices are reasonable. I recommend him.
