Taking care of you by way of weekly or monthly massages and/​or facials is vital to your overall well-​being. Friendly, knowledgeable staff to both greet and treat you; Kira was helpful and courteous, as was Kristen. Laurel, has strong, capable hands to sooth the knots and tension. The paperwork was ready to go when I arrived and questions answered about the treatment and additional services available to me. I rely on the reminder call and email prior to my visit which is extremely helpful in avoiding a missed appointment. The membership is worth every penny and I suggest you add it to your lifestyle routine. We often neglect ourselves, let alone our skin (which is the largest organ of the entire body) and you simply cannot miss out on a facial from Hailey. She is bright, kind, sweet and brings awareness to the needs of your face. I am making an investment in me, after all these years, to add a monthly visit for both a massage and facial at Massage Envy! Cannot thank the staff enough for making me feel a part of the family!

A great place to go when you’re aching or just need a tune up. I recommend signing up as a member; they’re good at following up and reminding you when you have credits to use for massages.

Well I showed up for my 6 pm appointment (pre-​paid) at Massage Envy and they told me «I wasn’t booked» and «sorry, there was no availability» for me…
Someone screwed up at this place — they acted like I was the idiot (in front of other customers!!!)!
I even showed them the appointment card THEY gave me when I booked the appointment I made in person the week prior!!!
I had just driven all this way down from Round Rock in heavy traffic — for nothing!!! I even gave up alternate plans to be here on time so I wouldn’t lose my pre-​paid session…
It wouldn’t have been so bad if only they didn’t act like I was the idiot and in the wrong, and in front of a line of other customers!!! No apologies whatsoever!!!
They never even bothered to collect my contact information to follow up afterwards.
I will lose out on the money I paid for this because I will NEVER go to any Massage Envy again! This is only the 4^th such incident (from other Massage Envy’s) this past year!!!

I am very disappointed and frustrated with the owner of this location. I cancelled my membership in July 2015 and was erroneously charged the monthly fee in August.
Upon realizing the erroneous charge, I contacted the location to have the money refunded. The location MANAGER was lovely and did everything she could to assist, but ultimately it was the OWNER of the location who had to issue the refund.
It is now Jan. 5, 2016 and the refund still hasn’t been processed AND the owner is not returning any of my calls.
At this point, it’s not about the money as much as it is about how the owner runs her business — and how she ignores customers.
I will be posting this same review on all available review websites + submitting a claim to the BBB.
I should not have to chase my money down for 5 months. Absolutely unacceptable.

Friendly, professional, knowledgeable staff. When my back and neck are all jacked up, and ibuprofen is not helping, these people can get me back on track. Life savers!

This Massage Envy is INCREDIBLE!!! If you are in the Austin Area don´t go anywhere else!!! The staff is super professional and the massage therapists are the very best!!! I had an issue about redeeming 2 of my prepaid massages from a Massage Envy in McAllen and this was the only Massage Envy that would honor that without questions or rudeness. Kosh the recepcionist is outstanding and Anjali was so professional. I highly recommend this place. Outstanding customer service and incredible caring people. Easy parking and staff is always willing to accomadate you.

What a mess this place is.
Let me say this first. My massage therapist (Lee) was excellent. He got all the knots out of my back and gave me an actual massage, not just a relaxing back rub. And the one my boyfriend went to (Joel) was also great (though obviously I didn’t experience his massages myself). The people at the front desk are always very friendly. Appointments are fairly readily available.
However… I’ve had too many problems with this place to recommend them to anyone. Really, I recommend that everyone stay far, far away, especially from the subscription services. Here are the primary issues I’ve had:
–Communication is bad. I always see the same therapist, so I was surprised when I came in and they told me I had an appointment with someone else. Apparently, Lee had called out for a few days, but no one had bothered to call and tell me. No idea if they told anyone else he had appointments with, but I was very unhappy — had I known, I would have rescheduled. They gave me a free 30 minute extra massage for this inconvenience, but it’s such a basic thing that they failed to call.
–The subscription itself is terrible. Make sure you read the fine print — namely, that despite paying for one «credit» (60 minute massage) every month, once you let your subscription expire, you can no longer use those credits. We had to rush to use our last one before it expired, which was made more difficult by being particular about which therapists we wanted. You also have to cancel a month in advance, in writing, at the location you signed up at.
–Billing mistakes. This was by far the most terrible part of working with this company. The subscription charges you automatically, on a set day each month, and that’s fine, that’s what I signed up for. But on two separate occasions I’ve had issues with charges.
Once, I got an extra massage (for $ 60) and my card didn’t swipe correctly, so they did it again. Unfortunately, it went through twice, and I had an extra $ 60 charge on my account. I called at least ten times over the course of a MONTH (not an exaggeration) trying to get a hold of the manager, who failed to call me back repeatedly. I tried to be understanding, but it is insane that it took that long for someone to bother to get back to me.
I finally got a hold of the manager, and she told me that her system said that they’d only charged me once, so she initially refused to refund my money. It was only after sending a screenshot of the two charges and doing a 3-​way-​call with my bank (who confirmed that they are 100% separate charges, and even then the manager argued), that she admitted that two charges had actually gone through. Then, after all that, she couldn’t return the money to me on the card, so I had to drive by to pick it up in cash.
I just had another error this morning, as well. I canceled my subscription and got my last massage. Phew, all the drama with them is over! Wrong! Silly me. I got another random $ 50 charge to my account today, three days after my last massage (which was covered by a credit). I call and they tell me «you were in here yesterday.» «…no, I wasn’t?» «Oh. We must have mis-​charged someone else on your account.» What?!
The manager calls back and says that the charge is from my last appointment (so the first person had no clue what she was talking about), despite the fact that I had a credit for it, which I had double-​checked when I scheduled it. Charging me two days late, for an appointment I know I had a credit for, and without telling me about the charge (either at my appointment or afterwards when they charged me) is crap. They insist that I didn’t have a credit left, but I think they are tired of fighting with me because the say a refund will be coming. What a disaster.
Long story long… while the company always tries to make things right when they mess up, the mistakes are too frequent, too frustrating, and too difficult to get fixed. Despite their attempts to fix the situations and all my good massages, I cannot recommend anyone spend their money here.
UPDATE: It took three full weeks (and multiple calls each week) to get my refund. Thank you to Theresa, the lone helpful person there, who actually gave a crap and helped me out. Do not give these people your money!

The massage envy located at 2222 in Auatin, TX just turned away my boyfriend after he was already face down on the bed ready for his first ever professional massage. It took me a week to convince him they will make him as comfortable as possible (he’s very self conceince) then the manager comes in and asks him to leave based on his initial paperwork he was required to fill out. Managers words were and I quote, «I’m concerned with the description you put down for your requirements… Um how do I put this. I can’t think of the word.»
His requirements were as such: age 40 and under, female, and under the full box other requirements he was unsure what they meant so he put Caucasian.
Knowing full well he’d never been to a therapist before instead of explaining to him this is where you put possible injuries, sensative areas, anything else therapists need to know the manager comes in and asks him to leave. That they cannot massage him. He was embarrassed already being half naked on a bed surrounded by 3 people, being refused service and told to leave without being explained WHY. It took a week to book his massage, hes been hit by a car a month ago and needed this badly. I HAD TO CALL THE MANAGER. She danced around the subject. Stating «this ia between the oatient and I» I’ve not only had many massages there but referred many friends. I will NO LONGER do so In FACT boycott Massage Envy on 2222. Worst customer service ever encountered in Austin! Ever!
Highly suggest Arbor Walk location. It’s all about the are vice in a service industry and one horrible experience can sink the ship. I’d suggest they make it right or I can continue to repost.

What a great group! I’m a member of their monthly program, so I get a pretty good discount. I’ve been with them for about 2 years now and never had a bad experience. Front desk guys and gals are always professional and on point. I’ve never been taken back late, they always greet me by name and offer me water. All my massages have been exactly what I ask for, whether it’s light pressure, or a bit firmer to work out some knots, they always do well. I plan on continuing my membership for quite some time. Thanks guys for helping me relax. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I’ve enjoyed having a massage envy membership. It ensures that I get a massage each month which is good for me. It’s clean and the front staff are friendly. I’ve never ever had a problem. I was working with a therapist for months and making great progress. Right before my next appointment, I got a call to say that he was no longer with massage envy. Major bummer as I don’t like switching therapists like that. Other than this issue, I’ve really enjoyed each experience that I’ve had here and recommend visiting. I don’t think that it’s a scam. Just make sure that you use your monthly massage. Sometimes I even double up! There are lots of add-​ins like aromatherapy, hot towels, and hot stones. You can get murad facials too!!!

I’m not one to write a review but my massage was so AMAZING I had to share! I got a 90 min deep tissue from Stephanie. I work 12 hour days on my feet so needless to say I have a lot of knots. She knew exactly where to focus with strong pressure. I just moved to the area and have a ME membership so i am excited to have found my new massage therapist. I highly recommend her!

I have had my Massage Envy membership for many years now and I am always searching for the best massage therapist. Oftentimes, they come and go. I was searching for a new therapist and decided to try Lola. The first massage was amazing and I just went for my second massage with her. She is FANTASTIC. She listens to your problem areas and pays attention to them. She gives a very relaxing yet effective massage. You can tell that she truly cares for her patients. She is my new favorite therapist, out of all of the locations in Austin. I recommend 90 minutes with her. You’ll feel like a new person!

I tried it before I bought it, and after working with several different massage therapists, felt that for the price of their monthly membership and flexibility to use it at ANY location, I would buy the membership. While I’m not a fan of contracts, I know myself well enough to know that I NEED at least one massage a month, if not more.
I’ve been a member for several years and have only refused to pay for one massage. I came back for another massage a few days later and was not charged for it. Only reason I’m giving them 4 stars is because of that one hiccup, but they redeemed themselves by not charging for a Do Over.
My advice for those of you who are skeptical about their membership and may want out of it at some point (I too would be pissed if I followed their rules and they still didn’t cancel) is try it before you buy it.

Sandwiched between Balcones, MOPAC and 2222 it is pretty accessible. Parking is easy and right in front. On arrival the staff has always been courteous and professional.
I use Claire. She really packs a lot of power for being petite. This is important to me as I always get a Deep Tissue massage to work out knots and tight muscles. Typically I go in a few days after a rugby match which has left me pretty beat up and sore. No problem, I just have Claire sort it out for me. She’s great.
The membership model works for me because I usually go in frequently during the season. Off season I let the prepaid massages build up. They get wiped out pretty quick once the season starts. If you’re just looking for the occasional, infrequent massage then you’d probably be better off without the membership and just do one offs.
Overall I reccommend it

I have gone to Massage Envy a couple of times since I received a gift certificate. The therapist I worked with, Sarah, was very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, they are EXTREMELY OVERPRICED for having zero amenities. The worst of all, their pre-​paid program, is like signing up for a Gym Membership… and we all know how that works! Once you give them your bank account information… they will NEVER STOP CHARGING YOU!
Now I love massages, but not enough to give some random company my personal information.
I am grateful for the gift certificate and if Sarah goes to work for a real day spa, I would happily go see her again. Just not here…

Chris up there nailed it — Unfortunately this business sucks and has nothing to do with the poor hard working therapists employed there. They have all been fair, open and accomodating.
However, they have a pre-​paid message program that basically robs clients. You pay a monthly fee and are able to trade them for messages as long as you continue to pay. Its essentially a membership with a hard cap. If you cancel your membership, you have no right to claim your messages. This is NOT how it is explained upon sign up. It is marketed as a pre-​payment discount program.
For that reason alone, go somewhere else — there are fair business out there that treat customers with the hope that they will come back — not by extorting them to come back.

My first massage was a prenatal massage and until now, I though nothing could beat the stress relieved in that 1 hr. I received a gift card to Massage Envy for Christmas and set up my appointment last night over the internet (awesome).
Today I visited this Massage Envy location and was greeted right away by name (I thought this was odd but I believe I was the only female scheduled at that time) and asked to fill out 2 pages of harmless questions. I then was escorted back to the room for my massage.
The massage therapist was very nice, checking in with me throughout the massage and making polite and still stress free conversation. It was refreshing and relaxing to say the least.
Upon my departure, I was asked to sign up for the membership. Honestly, i just wanted to get home and continue my relaxation but the woman at the front was very thorough in her explanation of the membership program so I continued to follow along. I ended up with the membership and left feeling pretty damn good about it.

I’ve been a member of Massage envy for a few years now, and have tried several locations around Austin. As other reviews have said the massages can be a bit hit or miss, but over all I’ve had consistently good massages at the mopac and 2222 location and the Circle C location as well. Once or twice I had a therapist that was mediocre, but over all the therapists I get listen to what I say, adapt and get the knots out. I love love love Andrea, Jimmi, Maya, and Ashley at Mopac. You do have to call a day or so in advance to book in with them. I don’t know if it’s all locations but some give the therapist a bonus if you ask for them by name.
Front desk has a few flakes, a few rude little girls and a few gems. The one time I had a major complaint (a girl eating something with onions at the front desk while checking in me eeww) the manager got back to me very quickly when I left a message and I haven’t seen anyone eat at the front desk since. I will say they play some strange music, ambient techno?, but the rooms have volume control and so far no therapist has objected if I pull out my iphone and use my own massage play list as long as it’s not too loud.
Over all this is the location that is my go to place when I want a good massage. If you’ve had a bad experience at one Massage Envy location I’d say give it a second chance here

I have recently canceled my membership with massage envy. The quality of service has gone down hill recently and the over all energy of the place is negative. I have seen a complete turn over of the entire staff. Not a single therapist in my previous review works there now nor the therapists I switched to after Jimmi, Maya and Ashley left or the ones after that. At my last visit the receptionist was aggressively trying to sell me a facial I didn’t want and products I didn’t need. I do not want a sales pitch when I am going for a massage.
When I canceled my membership I had to call 3 separate times because they kept charging me and the manager was very rude.

I STRONGLY suggest not doing business with Massage Envy. Their business practice is pretty shady.
I’ll elaborate on this further later but essentially, they charge monthly for what they call «pre-​paid» massages. They require a 1 year contract saying that each month they’ll charge you automatically for these «pre-​paid» massages.
Here’s where they and I disagree. Apparently, you don’t actually own these «pre-​paid» massages. In fact, if you no longer want them to charge you for them, you lose all the ones you haven’t used. Gone. Poof. Bye bye. «Pre-​paid» doesn’t mean «paid» what so ever.
The short story is: if you want to use the «pre-​paid» massages, you have to keep «pre-​paying» for more.

Let’s face it… my job is stressful. After I’d had my first massage ever (not here), I realized that my body, physically, doesn’t react well to stress… whether I’m aware of it or not. As my life became increasingly more and more stressful last year, I decided to make a regular thing of massages, for my well being.
I’d been to another Massage Envy location before and when I called this one to inquire about signing up for the package at the discounted rate, they were more than happy to oblige, even though it’d been months. Whomever it was that answered the phone was incredibly friendly and polite. I scheduled a massage appointment at the same time.
When I arrived, the paperwork was ready for me to fill out and the contract was explained thoroughly, by the same girl that answered the phone. Easy peasy. And I got my first hour massage that day. For signing up for a year, I also earned an extra hour, in addition to the monthly hour. I was told (and it does, in fact, work) that I could break up that extra hour and add it to other massages.
I receive a phone call every month, when the money is taken out of my bank account, reminding me that I have an hour massage available. Appointments are really easy to schedule, even on the same day. The massages are pretty standard, they at least make me feel better for a few days afterwards (usually until I go back to work, I try to get them on Fridays). I haven’t found a particular therapist that I really like, but I suppose that makes scheduling easier.
The only down side is that some of the rooms are, I guess, right near the employee lounge and you can hear conversations through the wall. And sometimes, people aren’t as quiet as I think they should be while being led to/​from their massage rooms. The outside noise detracts from my overall experience.
I find that the massages have been aiding in my battle against stress and I plan on coming back… even after my contract runs out.

I gave this place and their $ 39.00 introductory special a try one morning when my usual massage therapist was out sick. I’ll tell you, I was pleasantly surprised.
I arrived at 9:00 AM on a Saturday morning, and was promptly greeted by a very friendly receptionist. I filled out my health history in a very relaxing waiting area. The leather couches were nice and comfortable. Plus they had very soothing music playing to get you in the mood to relax for one indulgent hour.
I was promptly greeted by my massage therapist, Andrea, when I finished the health form. She was excellent. She listened to me when I told her what was ailing me.
Now usually, I just like to relax during my massage but Andrea specialized in more sports massage than relaxation. I’m flexible, so I told her to do her thing. I was amazed! I felt wonderful afterward! Plus, it was a type of massage that I’ve never encountered before.
Now, here is the reason I gave them four stars instead of five. It’s because of the way they pay their massage therapists. The massage only cost $ 39.00 ($ 49.00 if you join their club. More on the later) and you know they aren’t getting the full $ 39.00. There is a tip chart in the room that say $ 10 tip for a good massage, $ 15 tip for a very good massage, and $ 20 tip for an excellent massage. My understanding is Massage Envy wants the customer to make up the difference for the low pay. At a $ 20 tip (which is what I ended up tipping her), that’s a 50% tip. I don’t know any other profession that gets a 50% tip.
Anyway, I walked out of the massage feeling great. The receptionist tried selling the membership to me, but I didn’t bite. I said I would have to think about it.
The bottom line is, regardless if you join their membership or not, I recommend that every give their $ 39.00 massage a try. It’s a pretty hard deal to beat.
