Axis Acupuncture of Austin

I cannot say enough good things about Sarai. I have been working with her for six months now and when I walk in her office, a sense of calm comes over me, which I never would have thought I’d associate with acupuncture. She has such a serene presence about her and approaches her work with compassion, care, and professionalism. I have been to another popular Austin acupuncture practice and the difference between them and Sarai is like night and day. At the other practice I felt like I was just a number and it was a revolving door. By contrast, Sarai takes time to get to know her clients personally and invests a lot of time and attention in tailoring her practices to individual people and situations. She really LISTENS which is so refreshing and my appointments with her have become a time that I truly look forward to. I feel like I get a big bang for my buck with her in that she’s kind of like a therapist, nutritionist, and healer all in one. I recommend her very highly!

I love going to see Sarai. She helped me conceive my son (who’s now 2!). I really believe it helped (and there’s research to back me up on that). Sarai is very thoughtful and compassionate. She makes being poked with little tiny needles not scary at all, and actually (shockingly) something you look forward to. When you go into her office, you feel like you’re stepping into a spa. There’s a small water fountain babbling away, and the lights are soft. You have a chat about what’s going on, and then she sets you up on her heated table with a heating lamp for your feet. She does her acupuncture thing and then she gives you a doorbell-​like gadget to ring if you need her. She dims the lights and puts on some birds singing or a guided meditation (whatever you prefer). At this point you most likely take a nap whether you think you will or not, and wake up feeling very chill. I get this incredible relaxed heavy feeling about mid-​way through her treatments that I don’t get from just relaxing lying down. I love it. I swear I’m more zen for a few days following.

I’ve been working with Sarai for months now and I can say without a doubt, she is fantastic, the real deal. Now, I don’t see her for fertility treatments, as I am not planning on having children but I do see her for several other medical conditions — PCOS, stress, anxiety and caregiver fatigue.
Her one on one approach, knowledge, and attention to detail are wonderful — no matter if it is physical, mental or spiritual she is supportive, uplifting, reassuring and a great listener. And that’s even before the acupuncture begins!
During acupuncture as well as reiki she is focused, and does a great job talking you through as she punctures, and I rarely have pain during initial puncture. And then I take a relaxing nap… who doesn’t love that?
I view my sessions with Sarai as my weekly «reset button» for the build up of stress during my week. My body, mind and spirit always feel better after a session and that is why I keep going back. I’ve noticed major changes in my life including no more insomnia, a more level attitude, increased energy, among many other things. I’m certainly glad that I found Sarai and I’ll continue utilizing her services!

Sarai is a gem. I started seeing her after my second miscarriage. Needless to say, I was a nervous wreck, but Sarai was a source of calm and support for me. After seeing her for about three months, I got pregnant again. I was nervous about the pregnancy but Sarai was there to reassure me everything would be fine. She was confident in the pregnancy and helped me manage my anxiety. I am so grateful to say that I delivered a healthy baby girl 2 months ago! I have Sarai to thank not only for a healthy conception, but for lending an ear and helping guide this nervous mama throughout such a challenging journey. Sarai is so much more than an acupuncturist. She is passionate about her work and truly cares about her patients and their individual journeys. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is seeking help as well as healing with any kind of fertility (or non-​fertility!) issue.

Sarai is by far the best acupuncturist for fertility in Austin. Our journey to pregnancy was not short, and Sarai was the 3^rd practitioner in the area I sought help from. Ultimately, I believe that three things resulted in our current pregnancy…
1) seeking multiple opinions from dr.‘s & switching to a more experienced RE
2) finding Sarai and doing weekly acu during our treatment cycle (an FET)
3) prayer and God’s timing to put all the right people in our path to help us
I do feel I needed Western medicine to become pregnant with IVF, but I also know that using Eastern medicine helped improve our chances. As someone with a stubborn uterine lining, recurrent pregnancy losses, DOR, and several other autoimmune related blood issues, we weren’t exactly a simple case. I wanted to maximize our chances by balancing everything in the body that we could throughout such a rigorous treatment protocol.
Sarai took the time to listen to my specific (and always complex) set of circumstances. My treatments lasted a full hour & I never felt rushed or like she had somewhere else to be. She only schedules patients every 30 min (unlike other acu’s in the area who are rushing in and out of the room for patients every 15 min). She is also extremely smart and took the time analyze and discuss the proper treatment for each step we were at in the IVF process. I always felt she was truly invested in our success.
Most importantly, Sarai reminded me to «open the door» for this baby to enter into our lives. Might sound cliché, but she was such a powerful ally in staying centered, relaxed, and keeping a healthy mindset through such an arduous journey. She was the first person I told when we became pregnant, and I felt supported and confident knowing she would still be there to help during much of the first trimester as I continued treatments. I plan to see her again hopefully closer to the actual birth.
I would highly recommend her to anyone contemplating using Eastern medicine for fertility (or any other issues for that matter). She is simply THE BEST!

I have been seeing Sarai since the start of my IVF cycle, and she has truly been a blessing in my life. I was stressed and feeling helpless, and I needed a place that helped me to relax and stay positive. From the minute I walked into Axis Acupuncture, I knew I had found the perfect place. Sarai is so kind and she really listens to you when you talk to her about your symptoms. She has been an advocate for me throughout the entire IVF process, and she has helped me so much. When I first went in, I was not reacting to my stimulation medication as well as I had hoped, and after a few treatments, my ovaries woke up and responded the best that they could. She has helped to relax me and most importantly, she has given me something to look forward to during such a stressful process. I cannot recommend Sarai enough, she is amazing!

After 5 months of ‘regular’ acupuncture elsewhere, I went to see Sarai at Axis for fertility-​focused acu. Three cycles into it and I was beyond excited to find out I was pregnant, without medical intervention. Now, I sit here typing with one hand and holding my ten-​day old baby in the other. It doesn’t get any better than this! I’m convinced she wouldn’t be here if not for the acu and herbal treatments I received from Sarai. Sarai also helped get me through the first trimester of worries and queasiness. She is thorough in her evaluation, specific in her diagnosis, and always answered any questions or concerns with the utmost care. Go see her!!!

I can’t say enough good things about this place. Sarai is very thorough and spends a lot of time with you at the first session to ensure she’s clear on your needs. She’s very professional and caring. And most important, she’s effective. She specializes in women’s health but is knowledgeable in all areas. I high recc. her!
