Our mission at Crystal Clear Pools and Spas is to strive every day to provide excellence in pool maintenance, pool repair, pool renovations, and custom pools so that our customers experience the clear difference.

Jimmy Harvey established Crystal Clear Pools and Spas in 1985 in order to make it easy for fellow Austinites to focus on the fun in their backyards by ensuring their pools were cleaned, maintained, repaired, renovated, and ready to be enjoyed.

Christian Donovan and Cris Baird joined the management team in 2002 and 2004 respectively because they shared Jimmy’s passion for making backyard dreams come true.

Since its inception, Crystal Clear Pools and Spas has excelled at offering the highest quality pool services to the Greater Austin area.

Therapy pool was damaged in Memorial Day flooding last year. Crystal Clear was a fantastic help in getting through the FEMA and ONA paperwork. The pool is now working like new again… THANKS!

Crystal Clear resurfaced my pool and installed a new Polaris cleaner and pump for me this spring. Had a few hiccups along the way, but they were always responsive and would resolve. One thing that may help others is that they subcontract to H&H Plaster for the actual new plaster work, and they showed up at 6 AM to start the job. Had been advised they would be there in the morning, but I sure didn’t expect 6 AM.
Wasn’t a big fan of the H&H crew, nor the tech that did the Polaris install, but the Crystal Clear guys that did the actual renovation were great and I would use them again… though I hope I don’t have to of course.

The service is amazing! Kevin is a rock star! He and his team tries to fix problems to lessen the cost. Really cares about us as customers and friends. They don’t short-​end the fixes, to lessen the cost. Keeping our pocket book in mind and delivering amazing service, that is a blessing! Well done friend!

I wish every big project could go this well! We had our old Gary pool completely renovated and are ecstatic with the results! From start to finish, Rene walked us through every step and made sure we were happy along the way. He was personable and professional, always available when we had questions. The crew showed up everyday on time and the work they did was amazing. We also had the steps widened quite a bit and it looks better than we imagined. There were no scary surprises, everything was done on time and exactly as they said it would be. Our pool looks like a resort pool now and we couldn’t be happier!

I would not recommend them.
We recently bought a home with a pool and the prior owner had used Crystal Clear pools. Since we had some much going on with the move, we decided to keep using them. While they work, seemed to be fine, cleaning, a small repair. The amount that they charge was twice as much as other pool services. I also had a small repair that took them 4 days to come do, after they promised to come on early, but did not. I would not recommend them.

Incompetent and inconsiderate. I called these folks to fix a leak in my pool. When I finally got someone to come out they spent about 30 minutes finding and ‘fixing’ my leak. I added water and watched as my pool continued to leak. Four times they said they would come out to fix it and never did. Each time not only did they not show up but they didn’t even bother to call and tell me they weren’t coming. I stayed home from work and waited but they never showed. Each time I called them and they said they would be out ‘tomorrow’. After the 4th time I told them to forget it I’m calling someone else.

Crystal Clear pools is great! Chris is who I have dealt with in the past for service needs for my swimming pool. They are responsive and responsible. They provide great services at a great price! If they can’t do it they always recommend someone excellent who can.

I hesitated to Hire Crystal Clear Pools due so some of the less than favorable reveiws. BUT this is my experience. «I hired Crystal Clear to give me pool school. I was having a hard time finding someone to come out to my house because I live in Cedar Creek and the other people I had helping me kept on not showing up and did not seem to know how to fix things or set the systems up right. Dan came out and He was excellent. He explained how to take care of my pool very clearly with full explanations (I do have a salt water pool that the other people had installed but it never seemed to work correctly and the setting on the control panel never seemed to work right). he did NOT try and sell me anything extra. It was a great experience and I would call them if I needed anything else done.

We also have been using Crystal Clear Pools & Spas for the last couple of years after they were recommended by our pool builder, Cody Pools. They pulled out one leaf from a filter and charged us $ 90 just to come out last Spring. This Spring 2014, I called on Monday, ¾ and the person told me someone would be out the next day. By 2pm, no one had called or shown up. So I called and asked if someone was coming out. He said they got a late start due to the ice storm on Tues ¾, so I was fine with that and he said someone would be out today Well, no one has called and I have decided to go with another company with a better rating on Unilocal.Sorry to see Crystal Clear is listed as 12, instead of the one I chose. Cya Cyrstal.

Jimmy and his crew have been our «go to guys» for pool repairs for many years. They’re responsive, responsible and honest. I’m not sure what to think of the negative reviews. This has not been our experience with them.

Will not use them again. The service tech was extremely rude and uncommunicative. Stomped around mad the whole time and told me the repair he was sent to do was not going to solve the problem. Once he did what the order said to do the problem was solved and we are happy about that but NOT happy with the tech’s attitude.

Crystal Clear was referred to me for a warranty repair on my pool pump. Dan called ahead, showed up on time and replaced the pump in an hour. He even reprogrammed the settings and gave me some helpful tips.

I am glad this got nipped in the bud before I invested any more time or money in this company. I never got past the initial quote process because they didn’t bother to show up or call during the appointed hour. I wasted 2 hours of vacation time from work to wait on Rene, who couldn’t be bothered to let me know he was running a few hours late. Called the home office 2 hours after the scheduled appointment and they finally said he’d be in touch shortly. I said I’d be posting a negative review and the home office didn’t try to see if they could come back out at, perhaps, a convenient time for me now that they’d missed it. Just said, «do what you feel you have to do.» Whatever happened to customer service???

2 experiences with Crystal Clear Pools.
1. They did a sufficient job on a pump replacement in a rental home. For that I would have given 4 stars.
2. Following the first service, I hired them for long term maintenance for our house. They did a pitiful job on DE Filter service and routine cleaning.
* First it took them over a month to get us started up.
* They do not communicate with you through a service or repair.
Specifically, we had a DE screen with a tear. They said the cost to replace all screens was beneficial over a single screen. I agreed and asked that they leave behind the old screens so that I would have spares in the future.
* The old parts were not left behind.
* The service manager (Gil) did not even reply to my inquiry about this.
* The pool continued to fill with DE for 2+ more weeks.
* Customer service will not reply to my inquiries about how to resolve.
* Techs randomly show up at my house (I work from home so I was aware) without n notice.
* The invoice was over the quoted price (and this was after 2 techs visited our home and knew what equipment we had)
Based on the first experience with the rental home, I think these guys are technically capable. However, based on their lack of response and poor service I have moved on to another company.

Have been using them for the past year with decent service up until now. Had a pump go out a month ago, they replaced it ($ 1000), a week later it goes out again. Its now been 10 days, I’ve called them 4 times each time they say someone will be out that day to fix it. My pool is thick with algae and trash, it will take at least a week to get it back useable IF they ever get it fixed.

Crystal Clear Pools is a fantastic company to work with. We called many pool companies for estimates and Crystal Clear Pools was among the best estimates we received. We ultimately chose Crystal Clear Pools due to Cris Baird’s professionalism, knowledge and understanding of pools and equipment. He was had a clear understanding of our circumstances and waited until the spring to begin the work. He has been prompt, professional, on time (even ahead of time!). We are thrilled with the attention to detail, superior work and staff who has come to complete the work. Kudos to Crystal Clear Pools! Thank you!
