Clear Solutions Pool Plastering

I first connected with Blair via Unilocal messaging in early February 2016, indicating that I was interested mostly in resurfacing the pool and replacing the border tiles, but was open to other ideas for improving the pool area. He responded almost immediately and came to the house a couple of days later to assess the state of the pool. While there, Blair suggested some additional possibilities for enhancing the whole backyard pool area, including some much needed repair to the non-​functioning deck & pool drains, resurfacing of the old concrete decking with a spray deck finish, replacement of the unused pool «spa» with a tanning ledge — and some fun additions like LED pool lights that change color ! After browsing some examples of spray decking and tanning ledges on the web, my wife and I agreed they would really improve the pool area, considered our options once Blair’s bid was received, then gave Clear Solutions the go-​ahead.
In spite of the fact that much pool-​related work goes on in late winter/​early spring, Blair was able to start around 2 weeks later, towards the end of February. The old surface and tiling was quickly demoed; the spa was removed, replaced by the foundation for the tanning ledge. Work to install a working deck drainage system also began.
Blair provided a huge number of choices for the new pool surface and border tile. My wife and I wound up choosing an amazing microfusion surface (Gemstone Quartz Fusion — Laguna). He also pointed us to a local showroom for the tile, where we could place a sampling of our planned pool surfacing next to the showroom tile samples to make an appropriate choice. We ended up with some beautiful border tile (Verona Tondela Blue) that provided a stunning transition from the Laguna microfusion pool surface.
The only goinks during the process were a 2 week delay in receiving the spray decking from the distributer and a cumulative 1 – 2 week holdup by the increasingly rainy period that began in April. We were not required to have the project finished until early May, so this was not an issue for us.
Despite some challenging aspects to the deck and pool drainage work, the pool was ready to be filled by mid-​April. Once filled, we were blown away by the beauty of the new pool surface and border tile, and the degree to which the pool’s and surrounding deck’s appearances were improved. But we weren’t done yet — to complete the transition of the pool area, we decided to replace the 30+ year old pool filter cartridge with the newer, four-​cartridge Pentair Clean & Clear system — this was completed by Blair’s guys in one afternoon.
There was already a stone waterfall and slide at one end of the pool, with the slide needing some tiles replaced. The particular shade of blue tiling used on this 16-​year old slide was apparently no longer commonly available, but Blair somehow managed to track some down. Now installed, it is not possible to discern where the old tiling ends and the new, repair tiling begins, and the slide is usable again.
Blair was always available & responsive throughout the life of the project, rebuilding much of the major pool infrastructure. He was very attentive to all the details involved with this project. I would not hesitate to recommend Clear Solutions Pool Company for any pool and surrounding deck renovation.

We been with this service for over three years and started very well then we received was bad service and never came every week we paid religiously and we paid for weekly service but was getting 10 to two week service or longer in the pictures I posted is what my pool been looking like regularly filthy I could not swim in my pool. I was not disappointed for terminating our pool service. I do not recommend this service to anyone who has to pay more money for little service which is really stealing from me.

Used these guys to resurface an old, neglected pool. The quality of the work is great but getting in touch with Blair has been really difficult and, as a result, very frustrating.
Example: After 9 months tiles started falling off the walls. Called Blair immediately. After two weeks of reaching out and not hearing back I wasn’t sure what to do next so I filed a complaint with the BBB. The very next day he calls and says he’ll call in the morning. But didn’t. This happened for 3 more days before he finally came out late Saturday afternoon. Turns out the damage is caused by ground movement (hairline cracks around the deck). Yikes! He sent a crew out a couple days later and repaired it for free!
Extremely grateful for the help but beyond frustrated with the rest. Not trying to be first in line, just need you to return my calls and keep appointments when you make them. I have to arrange my schedule to be here, too.

Blair is amazing! He was great about talking through our options, letting us know how much each option was.
We initially contacted him for a quote on replacing our automatic cleaner and replastering. While we were doing that, we got quotes for replacing the coping and tile around the edges as well.
Blair was great! He talked us through our options, gave his opinions based on his experiences, but always made it clear that ultimately, it’s up to us. He clearly communicated every step of the way, and let us know if there would be delays.
I’ve already recommended 2 people to this business, and would tell anyone that this it the best I’ve found. We’ll be using him again next year when we update our pump.

I just bought a house in N. Austin. The previous owner completely neglected the pool and the equipment to the point the plaster was gone and the mechanical equipment had major problems. I called over a dozen companies to try to get repair estimates. The other companies would not return calls, would not show up, and generally seemed that they couldn’t care less about earning my business. Two companies that did give estimates were «over the top.» I finally called Blair at Clear Solutions and couldn’t be more pleased. The Clear Solutions team rebuilt my pool, have been responsive to all calls and inquiries, professional, friendly, and did quality work at $ 2,500 less than the lowest competing bid. The Clear Solutions Team has earned my buisness and my strongest recommendation — these guys are great.

Great team of guys. Fixed everything and there were a lot of repairs to be made. They also came by multiple times to just check on how the pool was doing.

There is truly one «Clear Solution» for your pool remodeling needs! We had a complete remodel done. Re-​plaster with tile and coping in natural stone. I now have a tropical paradise in my backyard as apposed to the 1980’s eyesore. Blair and his team were a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend the use of their professional services.

Be warned: Nightmare experience with this company! Owner attempted to seal new coping without masking the new plaster below it. He stained the plaster all around the pool. He attempted to fix it by adding large amounts of acid to the pool without telling us or informing the pool company that did the plaster job. The acid removed the creamy layer off of our new plaster, some stains that weren’t eaten off are still visible, and owner’s promises that he would make this «right» ended up with an offer for a PARTIAL refund for only the coping job, and nothing about the BRAND NEW plaster that he stained and affected with the acid. I have never experienced a blunder of this magnitude from a company. And by the way, the mortar between the coping and the deck is cracking away.

The pool filter stopped working about a week and a half after moving into our house. Being new to these pool adventures, I did some internet research, tried a few fixes… no luck. Called Clear Solutions (who showed up in about 5 minutes) and 20 minutes later everything was up and running again! Even better, the service call was complimentary! We’ll be calling again for future pool maintenance needs.

Blair came by and cleaned all the calcium buildup off our pool. Great job, great service, decent price. He also noticed and fixed a bad gasket in my primary pump, and fixed that for basically the price of the gasket. Give him a call!
⁷⁄₁₄ Edit: I have to knock the rating down a couple of stars, based on my inability to get Blair to come back and look at some missing grout at the waterline of our pool. I’ve been trying for a few weeks, via email, and although he said he would be by, he’s now gone radio silent, with his last message being that the grout missing «more than likely wasn’t from the cleaning». Hard to believe that, but if the guy isn’t going to come by and at least have the discussion, we’ll have to agree to disagree, and I’ll fix the grout myself.

Great service, great price and fixed my pump that continually broke down the first time and have not had a problem since (had two other companies «fix» it before).
I have since hired them to clean my pools tile, looks like new! I recommend them.
