Pizza Cono just wasn’t what we expected and definitely disappointing. Maybe I’m just a bit stuck up about it, but I live in Chicago… the food and(arguably) the pizza capital of the world. Perhaps I had set my expectations a bit too high. We were really excited to try this place out and accidentally walked through the ghetto to get there(seriously, those projects were pretty scary. If you’re coming from Isla Verde, get a cab). The good: 1) Really cool idea. One of the locals told us to try it out, and we thought it was a pretty awesome concept. 2) If you are a meat-eater, definitely get chicken or something in your pizza cone. That was probably one of the only redeeming factors about the food. 3) It’s pretty cheap. Which is nice. It’s awesome to get a meal in San Juan for less than $ 10. The bad: 1) Now I LOVE cheese and I had always been a firm believe that you can never have too much cheese. But honestly, the cheese to sauce ratio was ridiculously off. I’m glad I got a side of marinara sauce, because I needed to pour it on top of the cone to make this thing actually resemble the taste of pizza. 2) I’m a side sauce kind of person and this place had none — especially ranch. Call me crazy, but I love dipping my pizza in ranch. 3) The crust was extraordinarily hard. TOOHARD. And it’s reallllllyyyy hot, so it’s basically impossible to eat. I’m not all that picky about my pizza crust, but damn — can I at least chew it?! 4) The top was pretty burnt. But it was so hard and overcooked I couldn’t pull the burnt cheese off… Overall, I think it’s a really great idea with poor execution. I still think a pizza cone would make a killing here in Chicago.

Really good! You have to get the house cone though with meat and chicken. Otherwise its too much cheese. Lost a star though because it takes forreevver. Every time takes 30 to 45 mins. Forget calling and ordering by phone though. They rarely answer and when they do they put you on hold and forget about you.

STAYAWAY! Safe your money and go some where else. Has to be the worst food I’ve ever ate. It’s nothing more than a really, really hard pizza crust baked into the shape of a cone. They then take the cone and stuff globs of cheese into it. The cone is super hard and almost impossible to eat. Not sure how this place is still in business. WORSTPLACETOEATINPR!

The server was awful we ordered pesto sauce and got marinara instead. Also some did not have The right ingredients in the stuffing. They did not have all the ingredients available and even worse no forks. She went next door to ask for one dork for four people and handed it with an attitude. To sum it all waste of $ 30.

I visited San Juan a few months ago — and have been wanting to write a review for this Pizza Cone joint! Think ICECREAMCONE … but the cone is more pita-breadish, and the ice cream part is replaced by very generous pizza toppings(you can choose 3 toppings from a long list of ingredients — i chose chicken, pepperoni and mushroom — sinful combination). Instead of chocolate syrup coating, you get good cheese. There is an outdoor(sheltered) dining area. The location is really out of the way(not in Old San Juan where tourists flocked too) … but in close proximity to «Little Miami» of San Juan. My Puerto Rican friend who drove me here told me that this was his favourite pizza/junk food joint in San Juan — I am pretty sure he was not lying. The guy doing the cones was really cute, by the way.

Pizza Cono is an interesting experience as the pizza(cheese, sauce, toppings) is cooked and served in a pizza dough cone(like an ice cream cone pizza). For better or worse, there is a lot of space to fill a lot of cheese inside a cone. I cut mine in half and scooped out a lot of cheese for fear of a heart attack, while my wife ate all of hers and later that night vowed never to eat pizza again. The quality of cheese and sauce was average. There are numerous different toppings and sauces to mix together. The atmosphere is casual ordering inside and eating in a covered patio with loud music. OK place if in Ocean Park and want a quick bite to eat — may pay for it later.

Surprisingly good pizza in this little joint! «Cono» is Spanish for«cone». The pizzas here are served in a small plastic cup because they fit in perfectly due to their cone shape. The great thing is it never goes soggy and you never have a mess of ingredients on your lap or table. It’s a build-your-own-pizza place, where you can choose either regular or wheat bread and up to five ingredients, plus your choice of marinara sauce or pesto sauce. It’s SUPER cheap and one pizza cone is quite filling. Spot is small and located across from a gas station. It has about 6 to 7 tables, all very beachy and casual. This is located in Ocean Park, a sector between Condado and Isla Verde. There’s a small parking lot on Maria Moczo Street, right next to this place. Pizza Cono is at the very corner of McCleary Ave. and Maria Moczo St. Total including 2 pizza cones, 1 soda and IVU tax came to a little under $ 11. Yes BYOB! CASHONLY!
