The service is outstanding. The location is beautiful. In terms of food, I’ve had better. I ordered a pasta Alfredo, prepared table side. Good experience but the sauce was greasy and the texture was kind of grainy, not something I appreciate in what I expect to be a silky and luscious sauce. The dessert and wine selections were exquisite.

We literally stumbled upon this place last night as a quick detour checking out the casino at the Ritz last night. They have a 3 course fixed price menu $ 45 per person and… bottles of wine half off from 6 to 7:30. Yeah! I had the mushroom risotto yummy and a sea bass entrée, again very good. The ricotta cheesecake was to die for. They totally accommodated my gluten free tummy as well. We loved every minute of it and will just walk longer on the beach today to burn some of that yummiest dinner !

Excellent food and service last night. Yes, it is pricey, located in the Ritz-Carlton, that’s to be expected. I had the langostinos, which were excellent. Although the menu states it is a giant prawn, that is incorrect. Langostinos are not shrimp, nor lobsters, but«squat lobsters» according to Wiki. Bottom line-absolutely delicious, sweeter and more tender than lobster and shrimp, I highly recommend this dish. My husband had the rigatoni bolognese and said it was exceptional. As you may know, upon arrival you are greeted with zucchini in garlic, garlic bread, cheese, and bruschetta, if you’re on a budget, you can forego an appetizer after all those complimentary starters. Enjoy… Oh one thing as a woman who waitressed her way through college, and lived off tips, I do take offense to high end restaurants that seem to have all/mostly male servers. Women can be equally attentive and professional.

An escape from the lined casual places. Great service — meal is decent but not the best Italian I have had by a long shot.

The service was excellent. The food was great. They had a $ 45 pp three course dinner(starter, main and dessert) and bottles of wine half price. Mushroom risotto and sea bass were delicious. We’ll be back.

I thought this restaurant was great. The service was fantastic and exactly what you expect when dining inside The Ritz. I started with Poached Pear Special(was the feature salad of the night). It was good, but it was a little pricey for what it was. Just arugula and 3 pears. I probably could have lived with a regular arugula salad or Caesar. Entrees were great. We had angel hair in spicy sauce(can’t remember formal name) and chicken parm. The spicy sauce was so light and delicious(and spicy). The chicken parm is huge. Does not come with noodles(like Italian-American food) but is served like a traditional dish. If you don’t feel like going into Old San Juan, this is definitely a great pick when staying inside the hotel.

The owners should come down to Puerto Rico and check in on this restaurant. I am giving it two stars only because I love your restaurant in Roslyn so out of respect you get two stars you really deserve zero stars This was one of the worst dining experiences of my life Your wait staff was rushed, the fried zucchini which I normal love and crave was cold and stale. I Asked to speak to a sommelier to inquire about a super tuscan and he never showed, but one of the waiters came back with a bottle of wine and said the sommelier recommend this… as he showed me a bottle off wine. They did not even decant it !! My daughter is a vegan. When we visit Roslyn I bring our own pasta due to the fact that you make your own pasta fresh and it contains eggs(which by the way is excellent pasta) At your Roslyn restaurant we are always welcomed and the chef does a fantastic job creating delicious meals for my daughter I called two days ahead to make a reservation at your restaurant in Puerto Rico when I explained that my daughter was a vegan and asked if I brought our own pasta would the chef prepare it? I was told«no problem». I also asked could he prepare stuffed mushrooms for her like they do in your restaurant in Roslyn once again I was told no problem WELL once we arrived it was a completely different story our waiter Informed us that the chef was busy(it was only 7 pm) and could not accommodate our request for stuffed mushrooms ok so we were a little disappointed. Than lets move on to the pasta dish they made form her absolutely horrible !!! So now let’s move on to my meal. I ordered a dozen oysters and a dozen baked calms for my son and I to enjoy I than order half pasta dish and rack of lamb cooked medium rare Clams and oysters where good Than the long wait and wait and wait FINALLY they come out with our families main course Hello what happened to my half order of pasta Guess what they brought it with my main course(SERIOUSLY ??) Ok so at least I have my food well the rack of lamb which I order pink was well done and smothered in Dijon mustard I ate one and left the rest You would think when the waiter cleared the table and saw I didn’t touch a thing but one small lamb chop and left all all the rest he would inquire if something was wrong. But I guess they are used to people not eating their food here This restaurant should be avoided by all who want a good meal

Entrees where great! Enjoyed the veal and chicken parm was good and huge portion. Salads not so much. Salads at $ 15 each were absolutely sour without much enjoyment or taste. Very good service, very overpriced but overall good.

Coming from NYC we were hesitant to book a reservation at an NYC restaurant, but we were happy we did. Service was great and food was excellent. Started with the octopus appetizer that was absolutely worth ordering. Had the veal chop Milanese for entrée which was also excellent. It’s definitely pricey, but you won’t leave hungry(especially because of all the snacks/breads/cheese they give you upon sitting). You won’t be disappointed, but it won’t be cheap.

Great service but food was just ok. I probably won’t go back because it was overpriced for the quality of food.

Not as great as it is hyped. I love that they give you little treats before you stuff your face with fatness. The bread was tasty and so was the giant blocks of cheese. My dad and my step mom had dishes they said were good, but when they tried mine they said it was the winner: Mushroom Risotto — so simple, but so tasty. I remember there was tiramisu, which was also very good.

Although I had to bribe the host to get a last minute table on New Years since they said they were completely sold out which magically a bunch of tables opened up with a bribe. You could clearly see they were 75% empty. Well besides all of that I highly recommend to make a reservation in advance. Most Italian places are family style and all taste the same but this is a different twist on Italian and one of my favorites in New York as well. Expect to leave very full!

Located in the Ritz, this place gets popular during the Christmas/New Years time frame. Book in advance!!! The bread is uneventful. The zucchini they bring to the table is good. The bruschetta with mussels is ok. The ravioli is ok. I ordered a chicken dish which was ok as well. The meal was underwhelming. Not a must go.

Should be named ILL Mulino We were expecting a fabulous meal What a disappointment The baked clams were all bread crumbs The veal was dry and tasteless as was the chicken scarp They took the clams and entrees off the bill no questions asked Caution: when first seated they ask if you prefer flat or sparkling water Tap is not an option they offer up until After you pay $ 8.00 a bottle

Great service. I had osso bucco and didn’t realize it was $ 58 — yikes! I would’ve preferred a better variety of wines by the glass. They give you some complimentary bites upfront that are deep fried. Less oil would’ve been preferable. Great service though and we were all happy w our food.

The foods here are ok, but the prices are way overpriced. We went here one night for dinner and was ok. I got the red snapper and it was ok. I’ve had it better at some other places. My husband got seafood linguine pasta and it was good. They have a good wine list. The prices here are very expensive. Overall, the place is nice and the serives are friendly.

A fantastic experience at a famed institution! Coupled with this great experience, the staff were very accommodating to our 6 month old, even when he got a bit cranky and needed us to carry him. Walking in we were immediately offered a chunk of a 2yr aged Parmesan which was delicious! They followed up with some fried Zucchini, and house made bread. All delicious, although the zucchini was a little oily for my liking. Since Il Mulino is famed for its pasta and its all house made, we tried the classic Alfredo and a lemon chicken dish. Portion size was right on(as you tend to find in the better restaurants) and wine recommendations were spot on too. Well done Il Mulino for not making us feel too guilty for spending $ 130 for pasta and wine. Definitely recommend for a romantic meal or even if you have small kids!

Hmm… Let see. To be honest, this is my 1st time in a 5 star restaurant. It was definitely a great experience. They serve you aged parmesan cheese from a parmesan wheel of cheese, bruschetta, fried zucchini, fresh bread and spicy fried bread to start. I tried the risotto, fish, frutti di mari… The risotto was awesome but the bacon scallops that accompany it was just ok. My entre was a white fish that was suppose to be deboned and I choked on some bones :/For a 5 star restaurant, the food was just okay and totally overpriced: p place was really just a hit or miss.

This place gets crowded! I was warned about Puerto Rican service and how it is lacking in general, but I’ve never had a waitress brush by so rudely as we were looking for seats by the bar before our reservation. The most helpful person all night turned out to be a busboy. I still have no idea who our waiter is. We starts out with more or less a frozen butter for bread – one of which was way too spicy and should’ve came with a warning. The pre apps apps were ok – thoughtful at most. We ended up gnawing through everything waiting for the menu. Not wanting to wait even longer, we skipped apps and went right to the entrees. I got a seafood risotto while my date had the rigatoni bolognese. If I’d known I’d have to go diving for my own dinner, I would’ve just gotten a steak. These seafood was far and few in between and my risotto was too dry. My date’s bolognese, which he stated was fine out of consideration for my bad mood, turned out too spicy and too tart from tomato sauce. Perhaps a touch of salt and pepper? Neither one of us finished. Now, usually dessert tends to be a redeemer for me for bad eating experiences… but this just missed completely. A random waiter came over to give us the menu verbally. While trying to remember everything verbatim, I gave up halfway and just got tiramisu. We were eating Italian – seemed safe! And it was horrible. Way too much coffee and coffee liqueur.
