This place is beyond retarded. No service. After finally ordering, we waited TWOAND A HALFHOURS for our food!!! Absolutely zero exaggeration here. This was like island time on ludes. Food finally came… The huge awesome pork I had heard about was a pork rock. I could not fork it, no knife would break the surface. This place is lucky my party and I was unarmed. This business would make decent structure fire. Way to go, losers.

I walked past yesterday and so happy to see this placed closed and I’m normally never that mean but the food and service were just that AWFUL. I ate here last year on my trip to Puerto Rico and it was up there as one of the worst meals of all time.

As soon as you see the girls with curlers you know you’re in a tourist trap. No regular Puerto Rican would go here to have Puerto Rican food. Because most tourist wouldn’t know the difference they’d serve you whatever. Despite the noisy atmosphere I asked for goat stew, a Puerto Rican specialty on the menu. When I got the dish and tasted it, it was corn beef from a can. Called the waiter to complain and he insisted it was goat despite goat stew being brown and boney, not red and stringy. I would never recommend.

The other reviews are spot on! This is a local spot walking distance from the Ritz where we were staying. The décor and ambience is not the reason people come here for sure. We got seated right away since it was a big place with many seats empty, and it was loud with local entertainment which kept you busy and distracted from your long wait time after you order. We waited an hour before we got our food and 30 mins for drinks before that. It was getting annoying so we finally had to ask since the waitress didn’t bother to check in and let us know. When the food arrived it looked good since we were starving. Portions were good sizes and tasty as well. They did knock off the price of the drinks from our check so it somewhat made it up but we weren’t planning on a 2 hour dinner there. Enter at your own risk if you’re pressed for time.

Very disappointed. we went on a Saturday night about 5 weeks ago and had a Gustazo(kinda like a groupon) for this place and we were really excited about going. we get there and the place was freezing cold. people around us were trying to move away from the vents! We sat down and our waiter was very nice(cant remember his name, it might have been Carlos). My dad ordered a soup, which wasnt included on the Gustazo and we ordered dinner. it took 31 mins to get to him his soup and 62 mins to get our dinner with horrible sangria to kerp us entertained. everything was cold or overcooked. the waiter came by and apologized about 3 times blaming it on being short staffed. really on a Saturday night? We complained to Gustazo and received a credit. made in puerto rico is more like made to wait in puerto rico… plenty of other places in the area that are worth it.

This restaurant was walking distance from the hotel we were staying at. One of the ladies that works at our hotel represented it. We came with a group of 9 so the order took longer than we expected. We started with a sampler of appetizers. It came with pork bites, fried cheese, empanadas and we also ordered the chiccaron chicken. For my entre I ordered the fried pork chops with mofongo. They were basically deep fried so it was a little dry. My sister ordered mofongo with steak and shrimp which was good also. We brought our leftovers back to the hotel to munch on at night since we knew we were going out for some drinks afterwards. We ordered a pitcher of sangria but wasn’t worth it. You’re better off with a local beer. I also found it a little weird that the girls were wearing their hair in curlers but the men were well dressed in Caribbean style clothing. A must try I you’re in the area.

Too bad. Was looking for an authentic Puerto Rican food and ended up here as this place is close to the Ritz Carlton where I was staying. The good was very very salty. Big No no

Food arrived near cold. We specifically asked for no pork in our food, rice came with pork in both the white rice and arroz con gandules… Disappointment because the environment was so pleasant… on the bright side the Mojitos are good…

I was taken here to celebrate my birthday and it was the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. With a reservation we waited an hour. The food never came after two hours of waiting. The waiter kept apologizing and after I decided enough the food was coming so I asked for a to go plate. When I received the food it was thrown as if it was a doggie bag. I didn’t accept it, when I wanted my money back I was given nothing but an attitude from the manager after sometime it was refunded. The waiter was great that was the only good thing about the whole night. If i could give it a minus star I would.

This place was a disappointment! We ordered mofongos stuffed with chicken and a second stuffed with crab meat. Chicken was ok and the crab was horrible… fishy tasting and salty. The waitresses we were told would add a touch of old Puerto Rico with their curlers and crazy looking pjs… only one was in costume making her look awkward. Then the bill came and they were trying to charge me for double what we ordered. My first inquiry left me with a «your bill is correct» I had to show him that the bill included 4 meals and there were only two of us. He agreed and then it took them 10 minutes to bring me the correct bill… He did apologize… i do not recommend.

I Loved this place. Had a fun time with the very Puertorrican thematic of the restaurant. If you are Puertorrican you will love to remember the«jibarito» old times. Very nice and relaxed atmosphere. The waitress are dressed in the usual grandma’s floral nightgown with rollers in their hairs. They are friendly and attentive. If you want to eat«criollo», this is a good place to eat. For Appetizers we ordered«frituras Puertorriqueñas» and they were delicious. To eat I ordered a chicken breast stuffed with sweet plantain and rice with sausage, and it was really good. The only reason I don’t give five stars to the restaurant is because we order like five things that appeared in the menu(Pasteles, Pastelon, Flan de Coco, helado del pais and Piña Colada) and they didn’t have it available, and it was really disappointing. we just assume it was because it was a Monday. But overall, I really recommend it.

Tourist Trap. Made us wait for table even though place was half empty. Server was indifferent. Food presentation was sloppy. The meal itself was meh. I should of known better than to go to restaurant where the staff wears a costume… what was I thinking?

Nice loud spanish music. Pork roasting in the front. Waitress are dressed like older ladies more like abuelas with there rollers in there hair and big jewelry and dress gowns kind of. Food is good and very relaxed nice atmosphere. They also have a buffet and full bar. I enjoyed my time here and the decorations and whole vibe of the place. Located in a small lot area and you have to pay for parking.

The décor is excellent. It depicts our great festive culture and people. The menu items’names are based on «daily PRican colloquial expressions» that make them interesting to pronounce. Now, the server was very attentive, but the kitchen made all of the great food suggestions a complete disappointment. On a Tuesday night, the place was practically empty and we waited for more than an hour for the food. To make matters worse, the food was barely warm; barely warm. The best things were the Tamarind Smoothie and the Cheese Flan. I would not recommend this place to anyone. If you want Awesome PRican food and Awesome Service, take a quick trip to Old San Juan’s Pier Area and visit PUNTODEVISTA(Rated as one of the top 10 restaurants in Old San Juan by both Unilocal and Trip Advisor. You will spend a whole bunch less and enjoy the food, the atmosphere and the service a whole lot better.

I only came here for the after dinner drink. It is located in a small plaza which is near the beach. I was a bit surprised that they don’t really have the drink menu but they basically could make whatever you like. So I asked Mojito first. One waiter came back and told me that they are out of Mint. Well, let’s ask what they have again. The offer was Sangria or Margaritas. I tried the Sangria which was decent but not outstanding. My coworker ordered a Goat dish there which he claimed was really good. Very nice and relax atmosphere. The service was pretty good.

On a lark, we stopped into this bar in a strip mall. Rum and coke, served with a smile. Lots of locals, interesting characters. There’s alot of joking around at this bar, with their mottos on the wall and with each other. There’s an inside dining area(did not try the food, just the drink). Outside scenery was a drab parking lot. Enjoyed the local music. Saw the wait staff with the curlers. Maybe they take the curlers out when their shift is over and they go dancing.

As soon as I walked into the restaurant I saw a bunch of girls in hair rollers and was a bit confused as to where I was. Once I understood that they were waitresses at the restaurant I immediately loved this place! The staff is very playful, the bartender is really friendly(he had suggested we try the guava sangria and even gave us some samples). It’s a great restaurant to eat and have a good laugh. Although, my mofongo wasn’t out of this world but I didn’t mind because the guava sangria was really good and I was having a good laugh with our waiter! It is a great place to have a great time with a big group.

One of the best meals we had in puerto Rico and had came back twice for the food. The service was friendly and great. The prices were also reasonable for the experience we had
