The Butchers Club

I’ve heard mixed reviews about this restaurant, and the only consensus is that the food is crazy expensive. Now, I’m not sure about the food, but my experience has been that the staff really know their meats!
As part of a very ambitious birthday celebration I took my husband to Butcher’s Club for a sausage making class. The class, at $ 1,300 per head, I have to say is not cheap, but for an evening of learning to do something, a dinner and free-​flowing beverages, plus being able to take 1.5kg of sausages home, it certainly is value for money.
By the end of the evening we were happily drunk, with bellies filled with premium lamb and pork sausages we made ourselves, with mash and peas. We also learned how fatty sausages had to be, how to debone a leg of lamb and how to create elaborate links of sausages after filling the casings with meat we had seasoned (which is not unlike twisting balloon animals)
Bottomline: fun evening, something different for date night. Must call and pay ahead to guarantee spots.
