My favourite place for Yunnan noodles. Hopefully one day they will open one in the US.

Place rating: 4 Hong Kong
There are two reasons why I love eating Yunnan rice noodles: 1. You can’t find it in Vancouver, Canada(where I’m from), and; 2. It’s fast and cheap in Hong Kong! If you’re looking for authentic Yunnan noodles, I don’t think this restaurant will be the right spot for you. I’ve come to love the HK-style Yunnan noodles, where the broth looks like a mild white soup, but actually has a fiery spicy taste(you can adjust the spiciness less when you order of course). It works like this: All the soup noodles come standard with bean sprouts, chives, bean curd, and some other veggies(forgive me, I forgot the rest) at $ 29HKD. Then, you get to pick and choose some additional toppings(e.g., chicken, beef, fish balls, bamboo pith, etc.) for an additional $ 6HKD each. Or, you can order their«set menu» which comes in a ginormous bowl and has all of the toppings inside for $ 51HKD. Another reason why I love HK-style Yunnan noodles is the meat sauce that comes with it. The meat sauce is basically a Chinese rendition of bolognese. At first, it might taste a little off pairing something Western(the meat sauce) to something so Chinese(the entire bowl of noodles), but trust me, when your mouth is on fire, it’s nice having a rich ragu ease the spiciness of the noodles. So good! Note: The entire menu is in Chinese, so if you’re illiterate like me, bring a friend who can read! Also, they have multiple levels of spiciness and even their«little spicy» is damn spicy, so if it’s your first time eating there and you can take a good amount of heat, just start off with«3 little spicy»(三少辣).
