Taiwan Beef Noodle

Flying in from Taiwan for a layover, I was very reluctant about eating my motherland’s cuisine at a foreign airport. However, because it was the only restaurant in the Gate 60 – 90 concourse of the international terminal and I was starving, I decided to betray my country by eating there and I was glad I did!
Well, I actually didn’t get the namesake dish. Instead, I walked in because they had dim sum and I want dim sum. I wasn’t expecting stellar dim sum from a HK-​ized Taiwanese cuisine, but boy, was I wrong! The shrimp dumplings were one of the juiciest I have ever ate, with so many jumbo shrimps inside each dumpling. The XO-​sauce chicken claws were also amazing. I can’t say if this is good dim sum compared to the real dim sum outside the airport, but it was one of the best I had!
Each dim sum dish is around $ 32 – 38 HKD, but the restaurant’s massive menu includes many other type of food like HK-​style breakfast, noodles, rice, and much more so you can definitely find something you want there. It’s also nice that the bill has currency conversion so there’s no gray area of how much you have to pay in foreign currency. The service was meh, but hey the food was great!

Hands down my favorite place to eat at during our layovers in the Hong Kong airport. For Taiwanese cuisine this place has it down packed as far as taste and authenticity goes. Half of the dining area was full of airport employees so you know this place knows what they’re doing. I always get the minced pork and egg over rice and not once has it disappointed. Their soup noodles are also great however their dumplings are just so so in my opinion. Not a lot of filling and little bland actually. Yes it is a little pricey compared to how much this stuff cost outside of the airport but it’s not outrageously priced and still worth every cent.
