For Hong Kong and Singaporean Citizens, you be pleased to know that this airline is flying the latest Boeing 787 – 9 Dreamliner between these 2 cities. This airline is a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines and it operates a no-​frill service that means while it offers low fares, you have to pay for seats, food and other needs you required.
The 787 Dreamliner has 2 classes: Economy and ScootBiz. The Economy class is configured in 3−3−3 and offers good leg room space (yellow seats) which cost more than the normal seats (blue seats). After trying them myself, I recommend the yellow ones as the legroom space is definitely more comfortable especially flying on medium haul routes, choose the ones at the Scoot-​in-​Silence cabin.
No In-​inflight Entertainment system on board, you have to pay to use the ScooTV which would be streamed to your mobile devices such as your laptop, mobile phone or tablets.
As for ScootBiz, to me it’s more of a premium economy cabin. If offers better legroom space, wider seat width and of course there are better benefits such as free meals, free streaming of ScooTV, priority boarding, free selection of seat and 20kg luggage allowance. Check out the prices on certain routes, it may be worth more paying than FlyEatbag.
The airline also offers Wifi on this 787 Dreamliner but it’s not free. Price is from US$ 11.95 and you can choose 1 hour, 3 hours or 24 hours.
Overall, I didn’t like the Economy Class seats, it’s cramp and not very comfortable, as for the ScootBiz, nothing to shout about.
Food is decent but portion is small. It’s quite expensive too, not really worth it in my opinion.
Flight timing out of Hong Kong is not desirable. We call this a red-​eye flight! 7am departure to Singapore, means you have to wake up early to get there, the check-​in counters open around 3 hours before. But the good thing for Singapore departure is you depart at 2 a. m and reach Hong Kong at 5 p. m which means a full day in the city. Pros and Cons, but the air fare on this route is quite cheap.
Enjoy your 787 Dreamliner flight! Do take note that the airline can change the aircraft (due to operation reasons) to the older Boeing 777.
