Wait staff stuck us so close to another table we could barely move with our hitting the next person. It was practically empty and they said the bigger tables were all reserved. Not worth trying with this kind of service!

Came by with an old friend expecting the red ant restaurant but to our surprise the space has been taken over by Rosie’s Café. The space looked nice and comfy and it was still quite empty at just before 6. The interior is quite comfortable and the food was good. Their specials are pancakes but instead of it being fluffy, their pancakes were more creamy and had quite a bit of eggs. Still pretty good. Also had the shrimp avocado salad which was pretty delicious with a sesame and olive oil dressing. Price is about par or slightly above for restaurants nearby.

My mother and I were walking around in phase three of New Town Plaza when we walked past the newly-opened Rosie’s Café. I remember a couple weeks back it was under renovation, and we said we would come when it opens… so here we were! I really like the interior decoration of the café — it was designed to have a very home-y, cosy feel and I think they did a pretty good job of that. Since we both had a pretty late lunch, we weren’t very hungry so we decided to just order one tea set between us to share. The café’s signature item is their oven-baked pancakes, so we decided to get the BLT pancake with a hot coffee. I was a little afraid that the pancake would be really heavy because well, bacon lettuce tomato? That’s what’s in a burger and burgers are super filling! I was wrong though. The pancake was extremely light and baked to perfection, and there was a lot more lettuce than bacon(which is fine with me — I love salad!). I liked that the pancake was very thin — it was almost like a crêpe actually. The portion I think is just right for one person to finish, but it was good for us too because we really were still a bit bloated from our late lunch. Unfortunately, the coffee was a bit of a let-down — it was too strong for me and not smooth enough. Overall, I really liked the BLT pancake and I can’t wait to try the other pancakes they have! At around $ 70 for the set including a drink, it’s a little on the pricey side, but the café was very comfortable and spacious especially because we got the couch area. The service is great too; staff are very attentive and polite. I’d definitely recommend Rosie’s Café if you’re looking for a nice, cosy place to catch up with a friend!
