The Pacific Coffee in HomeSquare is one of my favorite outlets. It’s about a five-minute walk from New Town Plaza, and the Pacific Coffee here is so much better than the one at NTP. NTP’s Pacific Coffee is perennially crowded and impossible to find a seat in. Everyone there seems to have long finished their drink but just refuse to budge. This particular Pacific Coffee, however, is much less crowded and bigger too — about two times the size. It’s located on the first floor and while it does get busier on weekends, it’s not bad on weekdays and you’ll most likely be able to get a seat quickly. The atmosphere is better too — not as noisy, and doesn’t have the stuffiness that crowds over the Pacific Coffee at NTP. The seats here are super comfortable — well, some are the standard wooden chairs but some of them are nice and velvet-cushioned. One of my favorite things about this outlet is that there’s a small outdoor area with more tables and seating. You can tell that they’re trying to imitate the atmosphere of a terrace with the dark grassy-green carpeting and two large canopies, and while they don’t necessarily succeed, it’s a nice place to sip your coffee. In the summer, I’d obviously prefer to sit indoors for the air conditioning, but when it starts to get cooler sitting outside gives you a sort of privacy you don’t often get in the middle of ever-busy Sha Tin. Coffee– and food-wise, there’s nothing much special about it that’s exclusive to this outlet. They don’t have a large overhead drinks menu, so it might be annoying if you don’t know what you want and need to hover around the tiny menu on the table.
