If you ask people about the most famous food in the Chinese University of Hong Kong, you are bound to hear about the Lemon pie. However personally I am not really a big fan of lemon pie and I will explain below. For me, with so many restaurants at Central campus, it is fairly difficult to stand out from the others, especially there are no shortage of students starving after classes. However, this one impresses me the most with its Pork Chop Bun. A pork chop bun is a popular snack in Macau and I was pretty surprised to hear that they served it here at CUHK. The bun is extremely crisp outside and very soft inside with a freshly fried pork chop and sweet sauce. On top of that, they served with lettuce and cucumber, very fresh indeed. The buns are made to order so do not worry about whether the bun is crispy enough or not. Last I checked, it only cost around 13 dollars. As for the lemon pie, I tried it for a few times, the texture was funny as it tasted more like an ice-cream than an actual pie. Regardless, the thing that does not suit me is the taste — it tastes less like lemons but more like detergent for me… of course that is up for discussion… probably just not to my taste. Anyways, feel free to try this famous snack but personally I prefer the pork chop bun.
